Instagram Roundup & Life Updates

Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY, everyone! I realized that I hadn’t done an Instagram roundup in sooo long! Even though the weather hasn’t exactly been cooperating, I’ve still been dressing like it’s fall outside. I honestly can’t WAIT until the air is crip and the leaves are changing color… just thinking about it makes me so excited for hot chocolate, fireplaces and cozy sweaters!

Anyway! Here’s what I’ve been up to lately….

This striped dress is sooo comfy. I got it in a size XS, and it’s the perfect length! (I’m 5’3 and a half, by the way.) Also, I’ve been ordering my Pumpkin Spice Latte with coconut milk instead of regular milk and it’s LIFE-CHANGING! And so much better for you! Try it next time and let me know what you think.

I wore this next outfit on a date night with Chris last week. He was like, “You’ve sure been wearing a lot of camo lately…” with a confused tone. I told him that camo is trendy right now! So anyway, I’m not sure that Chris likes this outfit but I’m a little obsessed with it 🙂 The dress is really comfortable, and also comes in grey.

Alright guys these leopard platform sneakers are seriously my favorite item in my closet. They’re comfortable, and they instantly transform any outfit into “sporty chic.” I ordered them in my normal size!

Chris, my brother and I all took a trip to Blowing Rock a few weekends ago. We spent the morning milling around downtown, grabbed lunch outdoors at a cute cafe, and then drove into the mountains to go hiking before heading home.

When I posted this next look on Instagram, I got some mixed reviews on these leggings! I LOVE THEM! It sounds strange, but since there are holes in the leggings, it makes them a little stretchier and not as tight as normal leggings. It makes them so much more comfortable! I also wore them to a pure barre class and I love working out in them.

I think we took this picture the first day that Pumpkin Spice Lattes came out – it was still really hot out, so I got it iced. With whipped cream on top, it tastes JUST like pumpkin pie.

A bunch of you guys had questions about this floral dress! I really like Storets, I think they have unique and interesting clothing that you can’t find anywhere else. I’m pretty sure the clothes are made overseas, though, so be prepared to wait a little bit on shipping.

Alright now for some REAL life updates! I feel like my life has changed a lot this summer! I stressed a LOT over wedding planning (which I talked about some in this post), got married to the love of my life, went on our honeymoon… and now we are adjusting to being married and living together. I think I’ve mentioned this a couple of times on my blog, but my brother (whose name is also Chris haha) came home from Japan, where he had been teaching English for several years. It has been sooo nice to have our whole family together again!

On a business level, things have changed a lot there too. My blog got a huge makeover (as you probably noticed!!) – we are still working out a few kinks, like adding dates to the posts and making sure you can subscribe to get a daily email (I don’t think that feature is currently working right now). I also finally got my business incorporated, set up payroll and *officially* hired my first full-time employee – my BROTHER! He is honestly so talented with videography and photography, and so energetic and full of creative ideas. After years of blogging, it’s easy to experience burnout, but my brother has made me remember how FUN it can be to create content. We have a lot of things in the works… some bucket-list travel destinations, IGTV video ideas, and more. I can’t wait for you guys to get to know my brother more, too!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

xoxo, Cait

  3. This is amazing Cait! Congratulations 💗
I always get coconut milk in my coffee beverages, it’s life changing. You have to try Silk Coconut Vanilla creamer for at home, so good.

I love the pic in front on Meridian in downtown Winston! They catered our wedding 7 years ago! If you haven’t been yet, go! It’s yummy!

  5. Darcy

So excited for you and all the changes you are making on the blog! The new design is so nice and you can totally tell how much effort you are putting into your IG/videos. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

  6. Alysa

This is so sweet. I’m a few years younger than you, so I feel like I can be so inspired by you and look up to you!!!! I love it. You’re my favorite blogger — actually, I only read your blog! Lol

  7. Those tan ankle booties are so perfect!

  8. Love the changes to the blog! I can’t wait to try the coconut milk PSL. I am ordering those leopard sneaks!! 🙂

  9. Try a PSC – Pumpkin Spice Cappuccino. It’s life changing! Order a grande cappuccino, add 2 pumps of pumpkin sauce and a little of the pumpkin spice topping and you’re good to go. It’s much less sweet than a PSL (fewer pumps and a better IMO espresso to milk ratio) and has fewer calories. I usually get 2% milk because it foams nicely and the protein balances the sugar intake so you don’t crash.

  10. Thank you for sharing! Love the IG videos your brother has been producing – they’re all amazing and make me want to travel to the places you’ve been 🤗

  11. Kyra

Hi Caitlin! Love your blog. Been following you for several years now. I noticed I don’t see your new posts on Feedly anymore. Maybe it’s because of your update? Just thought I’d let you know in case anyone else was having this problem. Looking forward to more fall outfit posts from you!

  12. Instagram round up posts are my fav! You should do them more often 🙂 .. My favorite outfit was the camo dress and jean jacket look. I don’t own anything camo and you have inspired me to make my first camo purchase. Also congrats on the growth of your blog. I can’t wait to see what new content you create with your brother!

  13. Your brother is seriously talented, I agree. I’ve seen that mini video of your wedding from him. I also peeped his Insta and seen an IG TV Video of your mom. He’s really good! So I’m looking forward to seeing more videos from him and new content from you!

  14. Nona

You’re too cute,Cait. First comment on the blog. 🙂 Actually saw your bro’s photog skills on Instagram a while ago. Impressive to say the least. Remember what matters and keep being you.

  15. Mandi

Congratulations!! That is so exciting about your business!

Love the new look, Cait! and also, your brother is so talented. I’m excited to see more content from you guys.

On a different note, I just had to hop on here and say how happy I am that you are no longer friends with certain people (person) you used to hang out with a lot. Some of my girlfriends run in the same circle and the shit she still talks about you and Jade…. It seems like Jade is friends with her again!?? I honestly don’t know how she forgot about everything. Anyway, real recognize real. You are so authentic and genuine. I love that you even talked about burnouts, because I’m sure that is a real struggle, but you keep looking up and keep going. I think you’re amazing.

  17. Charlotte

Good job! I hope one day to make a blog as good as yours!

  18. That’s awesome that your brother is an ESL Teacher. I teach ESL too, but I do it online to Chinese students. So I “go to China” everyday, but really I’m in Mississippi. Anyway, love your blog. Love your insta. You’re presh.

  19. Sarah

You‘re my biggest inspiration when it comes to actually stop colouring my hair blonde 😉 Your hair is amazing!

  20. New IG follower of yours, loving your style girl!
My favorite has to be the second look with the orange sweater. I tried to subscribe a couple days ago, glad to hear it will be fixed soon. As a newbie fashion blogger, your are very inspirational.

  21. This is great! Congratulations on your brother finally coming home! I wish my brother was as enthusiastic about taking photos of me like that for my blog. 🙂

  22. Omg I can’t wait to see more of your IGTV videos! Please do hauls. Such a pretty blog makeover too!
