Instagram Roundup & Life Updates

Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY, everyone! I realized that I hadn’t done an Instagram roundup in sooo long! Even though the weather hasn’t exactly been cooperating, I’ve still been dressing like it’s fall outside. I honestly can’t WAIT until the air is crip and the leaves are changing color… just thinking about it makes me so excited for hot chocolate, fireplaces and cozy sweaters!

Anyway! Here’s what I’ve been up to lately….

This striped dress is sooo comfy. I got it in a size XS, and it’s the perfect length! (I’m 5’3 and a half, by the way.) Also, I’ve been ordering my Pumpkin Spice Latte with coconut milk instead of regular milk and it’s LIFE-CHANGING! And so much better for you! Try it next time and let me know what you think.

I wore this next outfit on a date night with Chris last week. He was like, “You’ve sure been wearing a lot of camo lately…” with a confused tone. I told him that camo is trendy right now! So anyway, I’m not sure that Chris likes this outfit but I’m a little obsessed with it 🙂 The dress is really comfortable, and also comes in grey.

Alright guys these leopard platform sneakers are seriously my favorite item in my closet. They’re comfortable, and they instantly transform any outfit into “sporty chic.” I ordered them in my normal size!

Chris, my brother and I all took a trip to Blowing Rock a few weekends ago. We spent the morning milling around downtown, grabbed lunch outdoors at a cute cafe, and then drove into the mountains to go hiking before heading home.

When I posted this next look on Instagram, I got some mixed reviews on these leggings! I LOVE THEM! It sounds strange, but since there are holes in the leggings, it makes them a little stretchier and not as tight as normal leggings. It makes them so much more comfortable! I also wore them to a pure barre class and I love working out in them.

I think we took this picture the first day that Pumpkin Spice Lattes came out – it was still really hot out, so I got it iced. With whipped cream on top, it tastes JUST like pumpkin pie.

A bunch of you guys had questions about this floral dress! I really like Storets, I think they have unique and interesting clothing that you can’t find anywhere else. I’m pretty sure the clothes are made overseas, though, so be prepared to wait a little bit on shipping.

Alright now for some REAL life updates! I feel like my life has changed a lot this summer! I stressed a LOT over wedding planning (which I talked about some in this post), got married to the love of my life, went on our honeymoon… and now we are adjusting to being married and living together. I think I’ve mentioned this a couple of times on my blog, but my brother (whose name is also Chris haha) came home from Japan, where he had been teaching English for several years. It has been sooo nice to have our whole family together again!

On a business level, things have changed a lot there too. My blog got a huge makeover (as you probably noticed!!) – we are still working out a few kinks, like adding dates to the posts and making sure you can subscribe to get a daily email (I don’t think that feature is currently working right now). I also finally got my business incorporated, set up payroll and *officially* hired my first full-time employee – my BROTHER! He is honestly so talented with videography and photography, and so energetic and full of creative ideas. After years of blogging, it’s easy to experience burnout, but my brother has made me remember how FUN it can be to create content. We have a lot of things in the works… some bucket-list travel destinations, IGTV video ideas, and more. I can’t wait for you guys to get to know my brother more, too!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

xoxo, Cait

I always get coconut milk in my coffee beverages, it’s life changing. You have to try Silk Coconut Vanilla creamer for at home, so good.

  9. Try a PSC – Pumpkin Spice Cappuccino. It’s life changing! Order a grande cappuccino, add 2 pumps of pumpkin sauce and a little of the pumpkin spice topping and you’re good to go. It’s much less sweet than a PSL (fewer pumps and a better IMO espresso to milk ratio) and has fewer calories. I usually get 2% milk because it foams nicely and the protein balances the sugar intake so you don’t crash.

Hi Caitlin! Love your blog. Been following you for several years now. I noticed I don’t see your new posts on Feedly anymore. Maybe it’s because of your update? Just thought I’d let you know in case anyone else was having this problem. Looking forward to more fall outfit posts from you!

  12. Instagram round up posts are my fav! You should do them more often 🙂 .. My favorite outfit was the camo dress and jean jacket look. I don’t own anything camo and you have inspired me to make my first camo purchase. Also congrats on the growth of your blog. I can’t wait to see what new content you create with your brother!

Love the new look, Cait! and also, your brother is so talented. I’m excited to see more content from you guys.

On a different note, I just had to hop on here and say how happy I am that you are no longer friends with certain people (person) you used to hang out with a lot. Some of my girlfriends run in the same circle and the shit she still talks about you and Jade…. It seems like Jade is friends with her again!?? I honestly don’t know how she forgot about everything. Anyway, real recognize real. You are so authentic and genuine. I love that you even talked about burnouts, because I’m sure that is a real struggle, but you keep looking up and keep going. I think you’re amazing.
