What’s In My Beach Bag

Since Chris and I are at the beach this week, I wanted to share what I packed in my beach bag! Of course, this is only a small portion of what we actually bring down to the beach since we have Kennedy with us, haha. She requires a whole bag and tent of her own! (But that’s a whole other blog post.) Anyway, I just love hearing what others bring in their beach bags so let me know if I forgot something!

water bottle

I have been raving about this water bottle all summer! But seriously, it is the best and it really has helped me with drinking enough water throughout the day. Staying hydrated is even more important when you’re at the beach since you’re under the hot summer sun and sweating all day. This water bottle is perfect to fill with lots of ice and toss in my beach bag!

portable fan

This portable fan has been another life changing purchase from Amazon! We take it with us everywhere, especially to the beach. This fan helps to keep Kennedy cool, but to be honest, Chris and I also use it ourselves! (Maybe we need two.) It also easily attaches to a beach chair, umbrella or stroller.

Beach Read

Malibu Beach” is touted as the perfect beach read, so I packed it with me this week! It’s about the four siblings of a famous rockstar family in Malibu, and the plot goes back in forth between a fun summer party in the 1980s and flashbacks from the 1950s. I’m excited to dig in, and I’ll definitely let you all know how it is when I finish.

claw hair clips

These claw hair clips are a must for the beach! I hate having my hair down on the beach because of the wind, and these keep my hair secure and out of my face. Kennedy is also at the age where she lovvvves to pull on my hair, so you can find me wearing one of these pretty much at all times! Plus they come in a set of four pretty colors, so one is always guaranteed to match your outfit.

sunglasses

I don’t think I even need to add a description for this one, a pair of sunglasses is an obvious must-have for the beach.

Beautycounter sunscreen

This is the sunscreen I’ve used every since I discovered it last summer. It has super clean ingredients – so clean that you can even use it on babies (when Kennedy turns six months old, this is the one we’ll use on her). It’s a mineral sunscreen but doesn’t leave a heavy white residue like most other mineral sunscreens, and it’s water-resistant so it’s perfect if you plan on swimming!

Coola lip balm

I ordered this organic tinted lip balm with SPF 30 for added protection from the sun while we are at the beach. One time I forgot to put sun block on my lips and they ended up swollen and red for our entire trip… let’s just say, I never forgot again! I love this one because it adds a hint of color that is perfect for a natural beach look! I have it in “coral reef” but it’s also available in four other pretty shades.

beach bag

So, I don’t own this beach bag…. but I want to! The pink “Hola Beaches” embroidered on this beach bag adds the perfect pop of color and makes it extra cute and fun!

waterproof bluetooth speaker

My husband is a music *fanatic* and must be listening to music at all times. He has a special playlist just for the beach with a bunch of 80s hits and feel-good songs… so of course, a bluetooth speaker is a must! This speaker is perfect for the beach because it’s waterproof and bluetooth-enabled. It also has a little strap so we can easily attach it to our bag or beach chair.

UNITE leave-in detangler

This Unite 7-Seconds Detangler Spray has been a beach bag staple of mine for years. One mini bottle like this is usually enough to last me the entire summer. I simply spray it in my hair right after I go swimming in the ocean and brush my hair out. It makes my hair much more manageable!

T3 hair brush and comb set

This T3 set is perfect for using along with the detangler spray. The brush is a wet brush so it gently removes all knots and tangles (even after a dip in the ocean), while the wide tooth comb evenly disperses the product throughout my hair.

Marc Fisher sandals

Alright you already know that these sandals are my absolute favorite pair this summer! They’re truly the “it” sandals of summer. I can’t get over how cute they are and how they somehow go with everything!

Lastly, you will never find me on the beach without my puzzle book! I buy variety puzzle books at the drugstore or at Barnes and Noble, and they’re my FAVORITE! For as long as I can remember, my mom and I have done puzzles on the beach. It’s a fun activity to do because it get’s your brain working but you can still relax on the beach at the same time. It’s not a beach trip without puzzles!

Let me know if I’m forgetting anything! xoxo
