Summer Bucket List

Good morning, friends!! Can you believe that it’s already summer? Preschool is officially out and I have both girlies at home with me all summer! I really want to make summer special for them, and do all of the things that my mom used to do with me. Here are some things on our Summer Bucket List…

Make Homemade Lemonade

There’s nothing quite like making a freshly squeezed pitcher of lemonade to enjoy on the back porch on a hot summer day! I think the girls would really enjoy helping me squeeze the lemons too. I bookmarked this healthy lemonade recipe because it replaces the processed sugar with honey! This pitcher is perfect for serving homemade lemonade.

Take a Day Trip to the Mountains

It has been SO HOT here in North Carolina the past few weeks! Every summer we love planning a day trip to Blowing Rock, where it’s a little cooler and less humid. We might go on a little hike, visit downtown Blowing Rock and grab lunch or maybe even have a picnic!

Make S’mores

S’mores were made for summertime! We just got this cute s’mores kit to make s’mores with the girls one night this summer. It’s on sale for 35% off right now and make building your s’mores so easy.

Go on a Bug Hunt

Collins loves all animals, even little bugs that she discovers outside! I want to take her on a little bug hunt this summer to see how many bugs she can find. This little bug hunting kit from Amazon is precious!

Host a Backyard Dinner

I really want to invite all our friends over to have a backyard dinner party one night! Set up our outdoor table with a tablecloth, candles and pretty dishes. I’ve been eyeing this outdoor dining set – it’s is giving Italian summer vibes!

Have a Movie Night in the Backyard

The girls, Kennedy especially, is getting to the stage where she loves to have movie nights. So I really want to surprise her with an outdoor movie night. We have this inflatable outdoor movie screen and projector. It’s super easy to set up!

Make Homemade Ice Cream

We love to go to Chic-fil-a to get an ice cream cone after dinner some nights in the summertime. So I think it would be so much fun to make our own ice cream with the girls one night! I just added this super cute ice cream maker to our Target cart!

Eat a Snow Cone

There’s a snow cone stand right near our house and we love to take the kids there during the summer! They have a little play area for the girls to run around after they eat their snow cones.

Catch Fireflies

One of my favorite childhood memories is catching fireflies with my brother on summer nights. It’s so magical how they light up the night sky! This firefly catcher kit is perfect for the girls to use.

Check Out a New Park

The girls love going to the park on nice days, and I think summer is the perfect time to check out a new park that we don’t usually go to. There are several around us that even have splash pads – perfect for keeping the girls cool even in ninety degree heat!

Go to the Farmers Market

You all know that I love the farmers market! We go every Saturday morning that we are home! The number one thing you need to bring to the farmers market is a market tote, and I love this one because it’s spacious and it has SO MANY pockets to keep everything you buy organized! It even has a little compartment for fresh flowers – so cute!

Make a Bird Feeder

Both girls love to watch birds outside our kitchen window, so I know they would love making a bird feeder All you need is string, pinecones, peanut butter and birdseed. You tie the string to the top of the pinecone to create a loop (for hanging). Next, spread peanut butter all over the pinecone and roll it in birdseed. Then you can hang it in a tree outside a window and watch the birds come for a treat!

Catch a frog

Both girls love being outside and love animals so I think they would LOVE trying to catch a frog this summer! This is a super cute frog book for kids!

Visit the Beach

We want to plan AT LEAST one more beach trip for this summer! The girls are at the perfect age for the beach, where they will sit and play with sand toys for hours. That means Chris and I can actually sit down 🙂 I’d love to make it back to Ocean Isle for another week sometime this summer!

I’d love to know, what’s on your summer bucket list?

Very Fashionable Mother and daughter dresses. You are all styling for Summer. Great list of things to do for summer. For me favorites is beach, pool, park and soon new home so I can now host backyard parties. Soon boyfriend and I will be looking to purchase a house outright. That should be accomplished by next Spring for sure. Mountains would works too. I don’t mind a good hike. That would be fun.

We are about to go on a big trip. Our family trip and I am so excited to create another memory with my two babies and husband. Discover culture and teach my kids where my husband is from and where he used to spend his summer when he was a kid. We are so excited, hoping I can get nice pictures like yours with your beautiful family, so let the adventure begins.

We going on a trip later this month for my sons 15th birthday!! He asked to go to our favorite beach, which I’m excited about. We already saw two out of three movies on our summer list.
