The LBD

Every girl needs a good LBD (little black dress) in their closet! This dress is my go-to when I don’t know what else to wear for a date night or a night on the town. One thing is for sure: don’t waste this dress if you’re not going to be seen in it! 😉

When I found {this dress} I knew it was “the one.” It caught my eye because of the delicate flowers on the bodice and the sheer, high-low hem of the skirt. Trendy but classic!

The great thing about LBDs is that you can style them so many ways! Different shoes, a different clutch and different jewelry all make the LBD extremely versatile. This one is also incredibly affordable  – less than $40!
In other news, (completely unrelated to the LBD) I went to go look at some kittens Tuesday night. I fell in love with one that fell asleep in my arms with her head in the crook of my elbow. She is so cute, but I can’t decide if I’m “ready” for that responsibility or not! Cat owners, please tell me – are they a lot of work?
Love, Cait

Hah what a coincidence I was just trying to figure out how to add more black to my wardrobe since apparently New Yorkers don't wear color! This is definitely a cute little option!

And while I'm actually more of a dog person, my bestie LOVES cats and said they're pretty low maintenance for the most part but kittens can be a little more work just because they have so much energy! But I say go for it! 🙂

    Good luck!

    Love this dress!
And I have two cats and they are not much work at all! I once heard that before you make the commitment you should be ready to dedicate 10 min. a day to playing/cuddling/attention giving to a cat. That's not much time at all!

  8. i've had a cat or two in my day. they are pretty low maintennance. you just have to clean out their litter box about once a week or once every two weeks and make sure they're fed. they don't really make noise (good for your bitchy neighbors) and are very independent so you don't have to walk or bath them…unless you really want to put your cat on a leash and go for a stroll downtown. 🙂 p.s. if that happens, please let me know so I can be a witness.

  9. Cats are very low maintenance! Keep food out keep water out give themsome toys and you're golden. I will say though the more you carry them around, play with them, and loveingly handle them when they're really little the more friendly and loving they get when they're older! Plus they're great snugglers! Very cute dress!

  11. Cats are super low maintenance. Invest in an automatic feeder. We're able to leave for the weekends and we never have to board her. We just leave her with a full automatic feeder, bowl of water, and clean litter box and she's good to go. They are so independent that it makes it super easy. The only thing that will be high maintenance is keeping those LBDs cat hair free!

  12. Cats are low maintenance. The only thing you'll find is that they love to play in the middle of the night. If you're not a super light sleeper, it shouldn't be a big deal.

  15. Cats are seriously so easy! When they're kittens, they just need a lot of socialization so they don't develop bad habits. Depending on how old she is, she'll probably already be litter box trained and eating normally, so all you really have to do is clean her litter box and play with her. Once their full grown–which doesn't take long–they'll be totally independent. All we do is give our cats food and water every day (one of my cats, Hurley, was a little heavy, so we don't let them have a standing buffet 24/7 anymore) and clean their litter box. Theirs should be cleaned every day just because it's 2 cats and 1 box. Once they're older, you can get scoopable litter (kittens tend to eat the clumps) and it makes it SO much easier. Definitely get a cat!!

I know I sound like a total cat lady, but I absolutely love kittens, so in the last 4 years, I've fostered dozens of kittens from the humane society. We've had really sick ones that needed medication multiple times a day. We've had really timid ones that have hid in the corner from us, but finally came around once they got used to us. We just keep them in my bathroom until they like us enough to come to us and then they slowly get more and more space in the house. Email me if you have any questions, I'd love to answer them for you!

    I love your LBD!

  19. Ahhh sweetie.. you need a kitten. I have been so blessed by having a sweet little fluffball to come home. And it's so fun to spoil her with cute collars, toys, and such! Lexie girl is not a lot of work at all, and she's a total mama's girl. My advice is to get a girl (more lovey from experience) and get one young (like a couple of months). And make sure that you "click" with her when you hold her! I went to look at kitties and held several but just didn't feel it. I looked at Lexie last I(she was the runt and tinier) and when I picked her up, she started purring and just slipped right under my chin. Love at first sight for both of us 🙂 Eeee! I'm so excited for you. Let me know if you have anymore questions. I never thought I'd be such a cat person, but I just love every minute of it! And I just bought her the cutest collars too 🙂 haha.. One cute gray and pink plaid preppy bow and another pink and grey velvet with a sparkle buckle and bow. Too fun! And she loves them. 🙂
