This is one of my most-requested blog posts during the sale (I swear y’all like her picks better than mine lol), and I can see why… she has amazing taste! Hi friends, so good to be back for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025! For those who do not know me, I’m Carla, Caitlin’s mom and we have so much fun shopping the sale together every year. I always use the NSALE as a chance to stock up on basic staple pieces for the fall and winter months. The first thing I usually look at? Jeans! Nordstrom has some amazing denim brands in the sale and they tend to sell out quickly. This year I was also excited to see some dresses from Farm Rio, one of my favorite brands for colorful and fun dresses.
I am talking about the fit, sizing and features below, but if you have any specific questions just leave a comment. I always look forward to sharing my Nordstrom picks with Caitlin’s readers because you guys are the best!!
For sizing reference – I am 5’3″ and around 115 lbs. I usually wear a size 0 or 2 in dresses, Size 27 in pants and a XS or Small in tops.
Open Edit Cozy Cardigan
- Sizing: Fits oversized, I got the XS
- Quality: The quality of this cardigan is so good – it’s nice and thick, it will be perfect for fall! I also want to note this gorgeous color – it does come in some neutrals, but I absolutely love this bright orangey-red hue. It’s the perfect pop of color for autumn!

MOTHER The Weekend Fray Flare Leg Pants
- Sizing: Size down, I got the size 26
- Quality: Meet your new favorite jeans because these are the CUTEST flare leg jeans! The blue color of these is so pretty in person. They’re made from non-stretch denim so they won’t stretch out even the teeniest bit. I love the flared silhouette (very elongating!) and the frayed hems add a bit of a fashion-forward edge.

Veronica Beard Kelby Bootie
- Sizing: Fits TTS, I got my normal size 7
- Quality: These booties are a little bit of an investment, but they were the ONLY booties that I bought from the sale this year! That makes it okay, right? I LOVE THEM. The pointed toe really elongates your legs. They’re not too tall, just right, at a heel height of a little over two inches. They also are extremely comfortable!

Dolce Vita Shelbee Genuine Calf Hair Shoulder Bag
- Quality: This bag is such a fun addition to my wardrobe! Leopard is a neutral, if you ask me. This one is made with genuine calf hair and looks so cute on your shoulder when you can see the gold buckle!

BaubleBar Heart of Gold Pendant Necklace
- Quality: This necklace was at the very top of my Wist List this year, and I’m so happy to report that it’s even BETTER in person!! The heart pendant is so unique with a ribbed texture. The chunky gold chain is adjustable – you can set it up to 20 inches in length… or as short as a choker! It does have a little bit of weight to it, which I like – it feels incredibly well-made and I cannot believe the price point!

WAYF Tate Mixed Media Minidress
- Sizing: TTS, I got my normal size small
- Quality: This was truly one of my favorite purchases from the NSALE this year! The chocolate brown color is perfectly fall and it’s the perfect length – not too short and not too long. I love how this could be dressed up or down – add heels and a clutch for a night out (it could even pass for cocktail attire), or dress it down since the bodice is made of comfy T-shirt material.

PAIGE Wren Slingback Pump
- Sizing: TTS, I got my normal size 7
- Quality: Caitlin and I ended up getting these pumps in both black and leopard. I love how the leopard pattern is very understated – they pass as a neutral. They’re the perfect staple for your wardrobe, a splurge but shoes you will be reaching for all season long!
- Price: Originally $328, marked down to $239.99
JW PEI Orla Woven Faux Suede Clutch
- Quality: This style of woven leather is SO on-trend right now, I could not resist this designer-inspired clutch! It has a gilded top handle with a twisted texture that is quite beautiful. I took the strap off mine, but it does have a long strap! I’m going to be honest when I say that I don’t think that the quality is AMAZING, but I do think it will hold up for two or three fall seasons.

Caslon Puff Sleeve Top
- Sizing: Fits TTS, I got a Small
- Quality: This is the perfect transitional top! Wear it now with white pants or shorts… and into the fall with blue jeans – add a cardigan on top for cooler weather. I love the voluminous sleeves on this pretty top… the material is super silky and soft. And it’s less than $50!

- Quality: This suede shopper tote is so cute, both me AND Caitlin had to have it. The color is called “dried acorn,” and I do feel like that’s an accurate way to describe the color! Perfectly fall. While it is small, it expands larger than you would think to fit all of your essentials.

- Quality: I’m obsessed with this polo sweater dress. It’s sporty and chic at the same time! I could totally see myself wearing it at the beach this summer… or in the fall with boots. The quality is really nice and it’s not see-through at all.

Vince Cora Kitten Heel Slide Sandal
- Sizing: TTS, I’m wearing a size 7
- Quality: I could not resist these kitten heels – they are perfectly my style and super easy to slide on. They have a trendy square toe and are surprisingly comfortable! I love the mix of wide and narrow straps – I haven’t seen sandals like this before and I know I will get a ton of use out of them!

- Quality: This little shoulder bag is such a cute size! It is certainly mini, so don’t expect to fit a whole lot of items inside, but boy is it cute! It comes in four different colors, and you can wear either with the shoulder strap or the removable chain strap (mine is tucked inside). Marc Jacobs really nailed the color of this, too – it’s the perfect creamy white color!

Caslon Long Sleeve Drop Hem Button-Up Shirt
- Sizing: Fits a little oversized, I got the XS
- Quality: This button-up shirt is perfectly cropped to tuck into high-waisted jeans. It’s not see-through at all. Caitlin got the blue color, but I really loved this red and white stripe! You could wear this now, since I think it looks coastal (just pair with shorts and sandals!), or save for the fall and wear it as I have it styled here.

- Quality: MOTHER jeans are always the highest quality, and these are no different! They fit perfectly. I love the lighter wash of these, and the fact that they’re the perfect length to wear with flats. That makes them much more comfortable, in my opinion!

Stuart Weitzman Goldie Ballet Flat
- Sizing: Fits TTS, I got my normal size 7
- Quality: Stuart Weitzman makes the BEST shoes! These ballet flats are made completely of lambskin leather and feel nice and supple to the touch. Sparkling crystals lend a dose of elegance to these beautiful flats! They are also very unique – I’ve never seen a pair like them!

- Quality: This crewneck sweater will be a wardrobe staple come fall – and I can’t believe it’s less than $40! It’s made of a velvety cotton-blend yarn that feels as cozy as it looks. It’s the perfect cropped length. I also think this sweater would be super cute worn around the shoulders!

Paige Anessa High Waist Raw Hem Wide Leg Jeans
- Sizing: TTS, I’m wearing a size 27
- Quality: I think Paige has some of the best quality jeans out there! I love this particular pair, with wide, full-length legs – they’re the perfect color for fall. These jeans are so flattering – they make your legs look so long and lift your booty, too!

- Sizing: TTS, I got my normal size 7
- Quality: These pumps are SO classy!! Kitten heels are supposedly a big trend for fall, so these couldn’t be more on trend. I love the creamy color of them, but there are many more colors to choose from – four, to be exact!

- Quality: This sweater dress is SO classy! I love the contrast trim, and the navy and white combo really spoke to me (rather than the black). This dress has a slight ribbing and is super cozy. I can’t wait to wear it with boots in the fall! Plus it’s under $100!!

Steve Madden Ira Pointed Toe Mule
- Sizing: Fits TTS, I got my normal size 7
- Quality: I love the style of these shoes, and I’ve never seen any pair quite like this ivory pair! A polished, oversized buckle highlights the pointy toe of the mule and really elongates your legs. I love this particular pair because it looks so classy – with white tweed and beautiful pearls placed all along the buckle! This is another shoe that you could go ahead and start wearing right now.

- Quality: I am a self-proclaimed jewelry snob after working in the jewelry industry for many years. These bracelets are gorgeous, you can tell they are 14k gold plated because of the beautiful color!!

I can see it styled with heels or sandals for summer… and then boots for fall! This dress is very well made and the belt makes it flattering one very body type.

QUESTION- Did your mom find the jeans to be true to size for her age or did she need to size up due to junior sizing? What about the boots? Does the shearling on the bottom make them fit more snug? Did you need to size up?
She found the jeans to be true to size! She actually tried on one size up in the jeans and they fit her, but the sales associate told her to go with her normal size because they tend to stretch a little bit when you wear them. We didn't size up in the boots, they fit perfectly with normal socks. If you're planning on wearing super thick socks with them, size up a half size!

Caitlin’s Mom CarCar got some great fashion picks. I can see where Caitlin got her fashion sense from. Great selections. I picked up a few items from the Nordstrom sale. Today’s work outfit to impress work boyfriend is a little pink floral dress with black high heel flip flops. Heel height 4.75 inches without a platform. Looking forward to going to a new boutique grand opening party after work. It should be a fun time looking at new fashion. There is one short red skirt there I saw during the pre open. Can’t wait to have some champagne. Boyfriend is going too so I can have him pay for the outfits. Gotta to dress to impress the girls there.
