(Updated) Daily Makeup Routine…

Sorry y’all… this post was so long I had to break it into two parts! So this actually isn’t my daily makeup routine because I do not wear this much makeup every day. I do, however, wear most of this for blog photos or when I want to look nice for a date night or party (when I’m not taking blog photos I usually wear foundation, highlighter and a little mascara). Over the past year or so I’ve had the chance to experiment a lot with my makeup and have found some really great products. I’ve also become a little obsessed with watching beauty YouTube videos… they are so addicting! Anyways, enjoy!
I have been using this foundation for about a month now and it is seriously amazing! I have tried a lot of different brands from Chanel to Bobbi Brown and I honestly think this Covergirl foundation is the best I’ve ever used. It’s really creamy and moisturizing and gives an “airbrushed” effect to your skin that I love.
I’m sure y’all have heard of the beauty blender before, but this sponge really works. I use it to apply the Covergirl foundation (wet it first and then squeeze out the excess water before applying) and it makes my makeup looks so much smoother and well-blended!
I apply this powder after the liquid foundation to get rid of any shine and “mattefy” my skin. This brush is kind of expensive but COMPLETELY worth it – it feels like heaven on your skin and it completely blends all of your makeup for a flawless complexion.
I use this foundation stick as a concealer… I usually have a big break out at least once a month and this is really great to cover up pimples with!
My friend Emily taught me this trick (and the next one!). This BB Cream makes an AMAZING under-eye highlighter. I apply this in a triangular shape underneath my eyes, along the bridge of my nose and my cupid’s bow and blend it all in with my fingers for the perfect highlight. This product was seriously a game-changer in my makeup routine!
After using the BB Cream, I apply this powder onto the highlighted areas with this brush from Target. The powder sets your highlighter and gives your skin a beautiful glow… I’m obsessed with this stuff.
I don’t always wear blush, but when I do I reach for this one that I’ve been wearing for years. The nude pink color provides the perfect flush of color that is subtle but really gorgeous at the same time. I always recommend this to friends because this particular color looks good on every skin tone.

This is a really great highlighter when you want a gorgeous “glow”… it’s the absolute perfect shade for lighter skin tones and it’s so natural and beautiful on. I apply this on my cheekbones and keep in mind that a little goes a long way!
I was a little skeptical of this product at first but now I am a believer. It’s so, so great if you have dry skin in the winter (like me). You can put it on your face before you apply makeup to hydrate your face and help your makeup go on smoothly…  plus it feels really refreshing. Another cool use for this product is to apply it over the highlighter on your cheeks to give the highlighter a “dewy” look. It really works and it’s so pretty!
When I want a more dramatic makeup look I always reach for this liquid eyeliner. It goes on really smoothly (eyeliner has always been hard for me to put on, but this one is pretty easy to maneuver!). I apply this only on my upper eyelids, and I never take it all the way to the inner corners (does that make sense?!). I really wish I could master the winged eyeliner but I am still working on it!
I have been using this mascara for a really long time and I SWEAR by it. The primer is the best primer I’ve ever used and it actually makes a huge difference in your eyelashes when you go to apply the mascara. This is just one of those things you have to try to believe! This mascara also comes in a red tube but that one doesn’t work very well… the kind I like (linked above) is really hard to find in stores now so I order it online in bulk – haha!
I usually don’t bother with eyeshadow but when I wear it I usually reach for this color. It’s a really subtle coppery color that gives off a “goddess” glow. It looks great with a tan in the summer or to brighten up paler skin in the winter!
This is the final step in my makeup routine (woohoo!). This spray is amazing for setting your makeup… I actually notice a difference when I use this stuff versus when I don’t. My makeup lasts much longer and I don’t need to apply during the day. It is an absolute must-have for me!
Fourteen: Clarisonic Mia
So this is actually what I use at night when I’m ready to take OFF my makeup. The Clarisonic Mia is truly phenomenal at taking off makeup and cleaning your skin. I only use it every other night (sometimes every two nights) since I have pretty sensitive skin. I’ve noted a big difference in pore size since I started using it… not only are my pores smaller but my skin just feels a hundred times softer! The great thing about this product is that it cleans so deeply that whatever moisturizers or serums you apply afterward really soak into your face, so you get their full benefits.
And that’s a wrap! If you have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments. Just so you know, this post is not sponsored in any way. I truly use and love each of these products! Also, if there’s a makeup product you can’t live without, I’d love to know… I am always looking for new makeup products to try so I’d love to hear your favorites 🙂

  1. Loved your picks for everyday makeup. I love the Bobbi Brown blushes as well and can't get enough of theBalm highlighting powders. I used to use the L'oreal double extend mascara back in high school and completely forgot about it until I read your post this morning. You're right it really does have the best primer, I'm gonna have to go out and get it!

  12. You use great products! I have really thin skin around my eyes and MAC Prolongwear concealer works amazingly well to cover up that area. I use a damp beauty blender to blend it out, or the Sigma F86 Tapered Kabuki which removes any excess product! If you don't want to buy Mac Emphasize (Pro Product) you can by Hourglass diffused light which works great to set the highlight.

I've been debating getting a Clarisonic for awhile now, but I'm really thinking it will be worth it once I finally commit to getting it haha. And I Really want to try that Smashbox BB Cream as a highlighter (never would have thought to do that)!

    1. I LOVE the Clarsonic. I have noticed a huge difference since using mine for the past year. You should do a video on how you highlight your face, blend, and the mattifyer. It sounds like you would have so much makeup on, but your pictures are gorgeous, so a video would be awesome.
