Summer Closet Staples

white camisole (a staple in my closet!) // blue striped skirt, also love THIS ONE // panama hat
Chanel handbag, similar HERE and HERE // Stuart Weitzman sandals in “bambina nappa”
This is another look I wore in Italy on the Amalfi Coast. The great thing about this outfit is it’s made up completely of closet staples for summer! I ordered five different brands of white camisoles from Nordstrom to test them out and this one was the clear winner – it’s just the right thickness, not see-through at all, is a pretty, pure white color and it’s also super comfortable. And for less than $20, I got it in black too! I also recently purchased these Stuart Weitzman ankle strap sandals – another closet staple from Nordstrom. They have a lower heel than most of my other sandals, which makes them easier to walk in! The color, “bambina nappa” is the PERFECT neutral to wear with any outfit, casual or dressy. And finally, I also consider this blue striped skirt to be a summer closet staple, because every girl needs a cute little miniskirt in her wardrobe this summer! I love the button and peplum detailing on this one. As you can tell, Nordstrom is definitely my go-to whenever I want to find high-quality items that make up my closet essentials!
Okay, now I have to ask a favor of you guys! Chris and I are just now starting to research some wedding venues – I would love, love, love to have the wedding in Charleston. If you have any recommendations for wedding venues in Charleston or in the surrounding area I would love to know!!! Shoot me an email or leave me a note in the comments. 🙂
xoxo

  1. My friend got married at Middleton Place which was beautiful BUT a drive from the city. If you want to do it in the city I'm sure there are multiple venues downtown! Sorry that wasn't much help but even though I live in Charlotte I haven't had that many friends get married in Charleston strangely enough!

I'm going to a wedding in Mount Pleasant in 2 weeks so I will report back after that!

  7. Love those sandals! Try visiting TheKnot.com to search for venues. They have lots of reviews on there and most all the vendors I found from The Knot were extremely reputable. Plus, if you've ever heard The Knot's founder, Carley Roney speak, she is so motivating and refreshing.

  14. Hi Caitlin, I'm actually a wedding photographer who lives in Winston. I have enjoyed following your blog for several years now! 🙂 I have shot a wedding at The Island House on John's Island and it was beautiful! I also love Magnolia Plantation, Lowndes Grove, Boone Hall, and Fenwick Hall. Good luck with wedding planning!

  15. We went to a wedding at Magnolia Plantation last summer and it was beautiful. It is a huge property just slightly outside of downtown. My friend also used a fantastic wedding planner for her wedding- I can get you her contact info. She did both my friend's wedding and her sister's wedding and specializes in weddings in Charleston.

  39. I work at Duvall Events and we do catering, bar, floral and decor in Charleston! Our food is AMAZING and our floral is always so gorg (check out our insta to see!). As far as venues, some of my favorites that we have worked at are Magnolia Plantation (either of the three venues there), The cotton dock at Boone Hall, and The Legare Wearing House are all amazing. The Hibernian can also be made to look super beautiful and is in the middle of everything downtown. Things book up FAST here though so be sure to keep that in mind as is it becoming a destination wedding location. Good luck!!

  45. Caitlin,
Why not get married in your hometown? Everyone seems to want a destination, but I think there's something to following tradition of the bride's hometown. Pippa Middleton just married her sweetie in her hometown of Bucklebury, and her wedding was beautiful,as I'm sure you saw. Congratulations to you, and God bless you and Chris in this wonderful time in your life!
