Happy Friday morning, everyone! I have a treat for you today. My mom, otherwise known as CarCar, is taking over my blog to share her picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! This is one of my most-requested blog posts during the sale (I swear y’all like her picks better than mine lol), and I can see why… she has amazing taste! Hi everyone, I’m Carla, Caitlin’s mom, and I am back again this year to show you my picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. We had so much fun shopping the sale together this year! Caitlin always helps me find the cutest pieces (some that are outside my comfort zone!). I’m particularly excited about a pair of “mom jeans” as they’re called – but technically on me I guess they’d be grandmom jeans! 😉 I’m excited to show you what we found. For sizing reference, I am 5’4” and wear a size XS/S in tops, and a size 2 or 27 in jeans. Let’s get started!

Rails Women’s Perci Cotton & Cashmere Sweater

• Sizing: TTS. I’m wearing a S.
• Quality: This sweater is a bit of an investment, but it’s so cute I had to have it! I know I’ll reach for it over and over again. I mean, look at those cute little leopards! You can tell it’s a designer piece from the way it feels, it’s super soft (probably because it’s made of cashmere).

Good American Good Classic High Waist Raw Hem Jeans

• Sizing: TTS. I’m wearing a 4.
• Quality: These are the “grandmom” jeans I was referring to! I wasn’t sure I was going to like these, but they’re actually my favorite pair that I bought from the sale. Sometimes it’s nice to get outside of your comfort zone. And speaking of comfort, I think these are SO much more comfortable than skinny jeans! They have a higher waist, too.

BDG Urban Outfitters Brendan Flannel Shirt

• Sizing: TTS. I’m wearing a S.
• Quality: This ended up being Caitlin’s favorite outfit on me, I’m pretty sure she’s going to try to steal this flannel from my closet! I love the color and fit of this flannel. It’s loose and flowy, and drapes perfectly. It’s also a great price!

Paige Skyline Ankle Cigarette Jeans

• Sizing: TTS. I’m wearing a 27.
• Quality: I always buy a pair of Paige jeans from the Nordstrom Sale. They’re one of my favorite designers because they fit really well and there’s a little bit of stretch. I think the dark wash is slimming, as well as the longer leg. My one caveat with this pair is that the waist is a little lower than last year’s version. That may appeal to you, but I don’t find them as comfortable!

Tory Burch Carson Striped Crossbody Bag

• Quality: I was a little disappointed with the overall bag selection in this year’s Anniversary Sale, however, I do really love this one! The colors are very fresh and they “pop.” This one can be carried as a clutch, or on your shoulder with the straps attached. It’s large enough to fit my phone, keys and a tube of lipstick.

Vince Camuto Welland Bootie in Tortilla Suede

• Sizing: TTS. I’m wearing a 7.
• Quality: I love these Vince Camuto booties! They are surprisingly comfortable and this color goes with so many different outfits. These will be my go to bootie this fall and winter. The pointed toe makes them very elongating.

Madewell Kent Colorblock Cardigan

• Sizing: TTS. I’m wearing an XS.
• Quality: This colorblock cardigan reminds me of the cardigan from the Anniversary sale last year that I loved so much. I especially like the neutral colors in this year’s version. This sweater feels very soft and I really like the quality.

AG Prima Mid Rise Ankle Cigarette Jeans

• Sizing: TTS. I’m wearing a 27.
• Quality: This is the second pair of AG jeans that I have purchased. The first pair I bought a few years ago and I fell in love with them. These jeans hold up so well and will last for many seasons. They have just the right amount of stretch to be comfortable and flattering at the same time.

• Quality: I was excited to find this Hobo Bag in the Anniversary Sale. The size is perfect for my everyday bag! Even though it’s a blush pink, it surprisingly goes with a lot of fall outfits. The leather is a really nice quality, like you’d expect from Tory Burch. I love that you can wear this as a crossbody or as a shoulder bag.

• Sizing: TTS. I’m wearing a S.
• Quality: This top seriously feels like pajamas, it’s THAT soft. It comes in four other colors, but I think this one is really pretty and fresh looking, and would work for both spring, summer and fall. I paired it with a ruana for a cozy fall look. For the summertime, I would wear this with jean shorts or white jeans.

Nordstrom Recycled Cashmere Ruana 

• Sizing: One Size Fits All.
• Quality: You can tell by looking at this ruana that the quality is amazing! It’s cashmere and incredibly soft to the touch. It’s also very lightweight, which makes it the perfect layering piece as we head into fall. This would be a great travel piece – it’s easy to pack in your carry-on and would go with many different travel outfits.

• Quality: First of all, let’s talk about the price! At less than $20, this tee is a steal, and I know it’s something I’ll wear year-round. I would wear it now with jeans or jean shorts, and into the fall with a vest, cardigan or scarf layered on top. I buy several Caslon tees during the sale every year and am always happy with the quality and how they hold up in the washing machine.

Nordstrom Recycled Cashmere Scarf

• Quality: This is a “splurge” item, but it will last you for years, and cashmere never goes out of style. This camel color is perfect for fall – I’m just missing a pumpkin spice latte. 🙂

• Quality: “I’m not just a regular grandmom, I’m a cool grandmom!” That’s what Caitlin told me when I first tried on this camo tee! But seriously, I really do love this camo tee, and wearing camo does make you feel cool. I paired it with a cardigan to elevate the look.

• Quality: I bought this Vince Camuto top in leopard last year and loved the shape and fit. They just released this silky version this year, and it makes it feel dressier. It comes in six different colors, but pink is my favorite. You could easily wear this to work with slacks or a skirt… or to a date night with your hubby!

• Quality: I saw this on Caitlin and felt like I had to have it, too. The way this moto jacket is cut is very flattering and gives it a tailored look. The material is also stretchy, which makes it super comfortable!

Thread & Supply Shirt Jacket in Grey Plaid

• Sizing: The fit is oversized. I’m wearing an XS.
• Quality: This shirt jacket (or “shacket” as Caitlin informed me), has a nice weight to it and I can see myself living in it this fall and winter. It’s lined on the inside, which makes it very warm, and I love that it’s longer and covers your bum. The grey and white combo would make for a cute “winter white” look with white jeans!

Steve Madden Cedar Bootie in Grey Suede

• Sizing: TTS. I’m wearing a 7.
• Quality: I don’t think I will wear these as much as the Vince Camuto booties, but the grey is a nice change-up from the tan color. They are very comfortable and the quality is really nice. I have a lot of grey in my wardrobe, but I also think this color is neutral enough to wear with a lot of different color palettes.

• Quality: I love the neckline of this sweater! I like the texture of this sweater with the ribbing and flecked yarn. I particularly like the length of this sweater, it’s not too long and not to short. It also comes in two other colors, and I’m tempted to order the dark grey one.

Sam Edelman Olly Knee High Boot in Sesame

• Sizing: TTS. I’m wearing a 7.
• Quality: I actually didn’t purchase these boots, I borrowed them from Caitlin, but I like them so much I might have to order them for myself. I’m only 5’4, so I appreciate the 3 1/4″ heel! The square toe is very trendy, as is the block heel. The great thing about boots like these is that you can wear them with jeans, leggings, and dresses, too.
