My Fall Bucket List

Good morning and HAPPY FIRST DAY OF FALL, you guys!!! I know I usually do “Monday Motivation” posts today but I couldn’t help but share one of my favorite fall outfits with you today… and, my fall bucket list! Every year I create a fall bucket list of things I want to accomplish. I feel like it really helps me soak up the fall season, otherwise, the time passes by quickly and the season gets away from me! (Don’t worry, though, I have a super fun and fall themed Monday Motivation post coming at you next week.)

Let’s talk about this outfit first: my checkered poncho comes in four different colors, but I’m really loving the white. I paired it with this black ruched dress (which y’all have seen me wear a thousand times) as well as a wool hat and tall boots. I am really loving the white, black, and camel color palette for fall. Now if only we could get a pop of color with some fall foliage, and we would be set!

Okay, now for my fall bucket list πŸ™‚ Here are my Top 20 things I want to do this fall season:

  1. Go on a REAL camping trip (and sleep in a tent!)
  2. Make s’mores over a fire
  3. Carve a pumpkin
  4. Decorate my front porch for fall
  5. Learn how to make a healthier version of pumpkin bread
  6. Read at least two classic fall novels
  7. Watch Halloweentown
  8. Visit New England in the fall
  9. Tailgate at a football game
  10. Find an essential oil mix that smells like autumn
  11. Take a fall foliage drive through the mountains
  12. Try a new fall shade of lipstick
  13. Buy some fuzzy Halloween socks
  14. Wear flannel
  15. Make a donation to a food bank
  16. Make a gratitude list
  17. Make homemade butternut squash soup
  18. Take more scenery pictures (and less outfit photos)
  19. Paint my nails a darker color – like burgundy
  20. Buy some local honey or jam

I’d love to hear what you have on your fall bucket list! πŸ™‚ xoxo

  4. Gorgeous outfit! Happy to see ponchos are still in. πŸ˜„

I made a homemade, totally from scratch butternut squash soup last fall and it was amazing! So good, I made it again and brought it to Thanksgiving. AND…the recipe was from a local winery, not Pinterest! Happy to share with you if you have a SC&P email address I can send it to. ☺️

Not a soup but I have a recipe from β€œThe Daily Garnish” for Butternut Squash Enchiladas (not my site) that are amazing. Add chilies since you like spice and you can use Siete tortillas.
Simple Mills makes a grain-free, refined sugar free, pumpkin bread mix but it’s not scratch. I love your list so much! Thank you for sharing it.

  11. For your essential oils blend, try five drops Cinnamon and two drops Nutmeg… it’s fall PERFECTION. I’ve been diffusing that for a couple of weeks now and I can’t get enough!

the best butternut squash soup recipe. I only use 5-6 oz of cream cheese and it still tastes delicious without all the added calories! You could also use soaked cashews to add the creaminess to get rid of the dairy!

  17. Caitlin, I loved your fall list! It included some truly high quality autumn experiences, but I also loved that you made it more well rounded with opportunities to give back, focus on well-being, and trying new things. Best wishes as you check items off your list!

  18. Just added this poncho to my cart! I love Abercrombie and their clothing is great quality. Plus they’re having a sale so another bonus for me (haha)

Also great bucket-list! I just decorated my front porch for Fall and I think I’m going to try and make pumpkin break this weekend. Please share your recipe once you check this off your bucket-list.

As always, thank you for sharing fun and inspiring posts!
