Happy Saturday, you guys! Popping in to do a short little update on my morning routine! I LOOOOVE hearing about morning routines and I’m always trying to perfect mine 😉
7:15 a.m.: My alarm clock goes off! The first thing I do is slip my feet into my Koolaburra Milo slippers. We have hardwoods throughout our first floor and my feet are always FREEZING in the morning – so I keep my Milo slippers right beside my bed! They’re made of soft suede, plush sheepskin and faux fur and they’re honestly soooo soft.
720 a.m.: Next I wrap myself in my robe and head out into our backyard for Winnie to use the bathroom. The Milo slippers have rubber soles so they’re perfect for walking around outside, too!
7:30 a.m.: Winnie sometimes takes a long time to use the bathroom (she sniffs around for-everrrrr), so it’s usually 7:30 by the time I come inside to make breakfast. I’ve been skipping coffee in the morning and opting for green tea instead (except I have to use two tea bags to get the same amount of caffeine!). I looove coffee but lately it’s been increasing my anxiety. If I have lemon I’ll put a slice of lemon in my tea, which is great for detoxing. My go-to breakfast in the winter is a package of Q’ia oatmeal with peanut butter, organic trail mix and blueberries and raspberries on top. If I have a fresh juice in the fridge, I’ll drink some of that too (my favorite juices are the ones made with beets – which have also shown to increase performance during a workout!).
8:00 a.m.: I always try to do something in the morning to get my mind in the right place. I’ll either journal, read a short devotional or meditate for five minutes. Then I brush my teeth, put my contacts in, dress in my workout clothes, then head out to the door to make my 8:30 a.m. pure barre class!
