Friday Favorites

I wanted to start a new series on the blog where I share a few things I’m loving… whether it’s an Amazon find, recipe, or TV show. You can expect a new “Friday Favorites” post from now on, and I’d love if you share something you are loving in the comment section, too! So without further ado, here are this week’s favorites.

1. Kennedy’s Paint Set

Kennedy loves to do arts and crafts – especially painting! Anyone that has been around a toddler with paint knows that it can be quite a messy experience. Even though a mess is inevitable, this silicone painting mat really reduces the mess because it keep the water, the paint, the brushes and the paper all on top of the silicone. It’s really easy to wash off afterward, keeps everything organized, and is super cute!

2. Bodyguard on Netflix

I recently binge-watched Bodyguard on Netflix and it is one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time – but wow it is intense!!! I watched it a few times before bed and then had trouble falling asleep because my heart was absolutely RACING, haha. The show follows police sergeant David Budd (aka, the bodyguard) as he is assigned to protect the controversial political figure, Home Secretary Julia Montague. This thriller has a little bit of everything: drama, crime, explosions, even some romance. I am really sad that it’s over!

3. Watermelon LMNT

I am always a bit skeptical of supplements, but after reading this blog post by Lily Nichols (literally my idol and one of the smartest humans alive), I ordered some LMNT electrolyte packets during my pregnancy with Collins and have been drinking them ever since. I really do enjoy the taste of them (they taste even better than Gatorade to me!) and they really aid in hydration – with the extreme heat and the fact that I’m still breastfeeding, hydration is more important than ever! The watermelon flavor is my absolute favorite, although they’re all pretty good. I’ve been drinking them nonstop this summer out of my Stanley!

4. Snow Cones

I have been on a snow cone/frozen lemonade kick lately. It is ALL I crave – probably because it’s so hot outside! (And yes, when I go get snow cones I get the lemonade flavor haha.) I have been convincing my husband to drive us all to our local snow cone shop almost every night, but finally caved and ordered this one so I can just make them myself! It’s currently on sale at QVC.

5. Baby Food Maker

We have been introducing real food to Collins over the past few weeks! It’s so much fun to see her likes and dislikes – she makes the funniest faces while trying new foods! While introducing new foods to her, I brought out the baby food maker I used for Kenny when she started eating real food and it worked like it was brand new. I like to cut up veggies and then steam them in the steamer basket – it doesn’t take long at all and is super easy to clean up. If you want to make a purée, all you have to do is put the steamed veggies into the glass reservoir and then hit the “blend” button.

I love this new series! It’s so nice to read something positive and fresh. Everything these days just seems so… aggressively negative. I’ll be looking forward to these posts every week!
Some of my favorites lately have been the Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm (mouthful of a name, but it’s keeping my lips from drying out in this heat!) – Spending time with my husband and close friends, we enjoy taking them out on our boat! It’s so fun and makes us feel spontaneous going out on weeknights. Definitely refreshing to take a dip in the lake too! – Iced coffees from our local coffee shop has been my daily treat.
I will have to try out those LMNT packs, they sound super hydrating!

  2. Love this new blog post idea! Snow cones are definitely great for summer. They can be really, really addicting I’ve found, haha.

How cool. Friday Favorites. This is awesome. Love the snow cone. I watched a few episodes of Bodyguard Saturday Morning before we all went to the beach. Looking forward to heading off to Los Angeles this week for business. Paint set for little one brings me back to when I was a baby.
