Friday Date Night Outfit

TGIF! I’m so happy it’s finally the weekend… even if all we do on the weekends anymore is stay in pajamas all day (LOL). We do usually go out to eat on Friday nights (but only if we can sit outdoors), and we might try out a new restaurant tonight. I had planned to wear this exact outfit that we photographed earlier in the week, but that was my last time wearing these jeans during pregnancy… they were already so tight around the waistband, I had to do the rubberband trick to get them to close! Thankfully all of my tops still fit right now… this pink satin camisole is so pretty and would easily pair with my denim shorts (which I can still fit into).

And on that note… if you guys have any maternity jeans recommendations please let me know. Otherwise, it’s going to be a loooong fall and winter! 🙂

Happy Friday!

What kind of bra do you wear with tops like that so they don’t show?

Sort of a maternity pants recommendation – look into getting some belly band clothing extenders. They fit over your pants and allow you to keep them unbuttoned to accommodate your growing bump.

I was able to wear my normal jeans my entire pregnancy because of these. I absolutely loved them.

Congrats and enjoy your pregnancy and the little one when he/she arrives! 🙂

  4. Maternity pants are so overrated, I highly suggest sticking with your current jeans and use the rubber band trick or a belly band! You’re not wasting money on something you’ll hardly wear as much.

I’m so excited to see more of this journey with you! Congratulations again! And stay safe!

Maternity jeans are amazing. I work the elastic on the side kind until i was like 20ish weeks because my belly wasn’t big enough for the other kind. Loved sevens. I shifted to the over belly ones until about 34 weeks. Madewell maternity jeans with the over belly fabric were my favorite. And then those got uncomfortable at the end so I went back to my elastic on the side ones (and lots of leggings haha) for the last few weeks.

    Love the outfit!
I agree with the other comment. Maternity clothes are sooooo overrated. I got through both my pregnancies with a belly band, leggings and lots of dresses! 😊

Seraphine- I loved ordering maternity clothes from them! The Duchess of Cambridge is a big fan of Seraphine maternity clothes – shopping from that brand was an affordable way to make myself feel special during a time of big body change! Seraphine.com

  10. Madewell jeans have been my favorite! And ASOS has some good ones (text me and I can hunt down the exact pair! I ordered about 10 to try on). I MUCH prefer the side panels vs the over-the-belly panel on maternity jeans!

Love this outfit! Hope you had a fun date night! I used this belly band for my first pregnancy up until about 8 months and plan on using it again this time around. You wear your normal jeans (or at least the ones with stretch to them) and leave your pants unbuttoned and then wear the band over top of it. I swear you can’t even see the button and it holds your pants up and bonus supports your belly! I tried a few pairs of maternity pants and this was my favorite option! In the 3rd trimester I bought a pair of pants the next size up from my normal size and did this same trick and it worked great too! This was way more comfortable and secure than the rubber band trick!
