Fall Reading List

Last week I asked for you guys to tell me your best fall books…. and you did! I’ve rounded up the titles that were mentioned the most (since there were way too many to list them all). I’ve read quite a few of these – I put an asterisk besides the ones I’ve read – but I also looked up the ones I haven’t read to make sure they were fall-approved. So go grab a hot cup of tea and some cozy socks and get ready to curl up for the afternoon… ANY of these novels are guaranteed to get you in the autumn mood!

The novel I most recently read is Under My Skin by Lisa Unger – it JUST came out this October and was named one of the most anticipated thrillers of fall 2018. I’m happy to report that it definitely lives up to the hype – IT’S SOOOO GOOD! And thrilling!

Out of the rest of the novels that I’ve read on this list, my other favorites are Rebecca and Jane Eyre – both creepy classics that are fall staples.

xoxo

Cait, I’d love to know how you like your Restoration Hardware Monastery dining room table! I’m considering it for my new house next year, but my husband has reservations about it since the top isn’t made of solid hardwood, its engineered veneers or something. Does it still feel sturdy to you? Does it scratch up or get stained? I would get the same color one that you have. Any feedback would be appreciated!

    • Hey Janie, We moved our Monastery dining table into our formal dining room so we only use it a couple times a year now! But it is VERY sturdy and I absolutely love how it looks! One time our cat got up on the table and did scratch it, so I keep a table cloth on it now at all times. As long as you don’t have cats you should be fine hahah!

Normally I finish my books with in a week, I’m reading Baby Doll and I’m dragging my feet. I know you read it, is there a twist to this book at all, I’m getting bored with it and just curious if it’s worth finishing.

“Rebecca” is my absolute favorite! Also, Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” for this time of year. 🙂

I also loved Rebecca! I’ve rarely found anyone else whose read it, let alone put it on a list! This is fantastic set of books. My 14 year old daughter (who thought Chris’s pumpkin was Shrek!) is also an avid reader and loved this photo so I just ordered her the shorts, top, and socks!

Oooo new twisty mystery books! I’ve been looking for some Fall reads. These will keep me busy for a while. Another book you might like is “The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher” by Kate Summerscale and “Suspicion” by Francis Iles. “Suspicion’ is a classic novel, but possibly not easily found. Although it’s probably in the public library.

    Fractured by Catherine McKenzie
Exit, Pursued by a Bear by E.K. Johnston

    Happy reading! 🙂
