Cozy in the Mountains

I mentioned in yesterday’s post that my family is currently spending a few days in Blowing Rock, NC. We have been coming here since I was a little girl and we love this little mountain town so much! It was supposed to snow yesterday (and it didn’t), but instead it sleeted all day and it got down to 8 DEGREES last night! So unfortunately, I think we may be stuck in our cabin for a while since the roads are frozen over, haha. Good thing that we all packed super warm clothes and boots! My mom and I are both in love with our boots that we picked up from Walmart before our trip. Her hiking boots have thick soles and cute red laces and are only $25, while I love how my boots are a little taller (offering more warmth), are water-resistant, and only $33! They both look way more expensive, and they seriously are warm (especially paired with wool socks πŸ™‚ ) . I’ve linked up both of our outfits below!

Since we’re probably going to be stuck in our cabin all day today, I’ll probably watch the new Christmas movies on Netflix or get caught up on my thriller novels! If anyone has watched any good Christmas movies or read any good books lately, definitely let me know below! xoxo

  1. Christmas in the Smokies on Netflix is mind-numbingly predictable and I looooove it. Stay safe up there!

Such cosy and snuggly outfits. Hopefully you’ll have a nice relaxing time. I remember your previous photos from this location about 2 or 3 years ago πŸ™‚ Me and my fiance watched “The Night Before” with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen and Anthony Mackie on Netflix and found it really funny. Have a good Wednesday! πŸ™‚

You are one of the few designer bag bloggers whom I can actually believe shops at Walmart. You know how to balance an expensive, quality piece with a bargain. Maybe it’s a Southern thing, but thanks for always being honest. Also, White Christmas is on Netflix now and is one of my favorite classics. The music is the best. Enjoy those NC mountains and drive safe.

  8. Some great thrillers I’ve read recently are The Last House Guest by Megan Miranda and The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware. I’m currently reading All The Missing Girls by Megan Miranda and it’s SO good!

Hi Caitlin! Love the post! I travel for work and I’m currently in NJ! I’m originally from Dallas and have no idea how to dress warmly so love this post! Could you do some warm work clothes outfits too! I’m not sure how to pair a suit with boots and it’s 20 degrees! Also it’s not Netflix but I love the hallmark channel!
