Backless Maxi Dress in Rome

Brixton straw hat // Michele watch // David Yurman bracelets here & here
Good morning and happy Thursday (one more day till the weekend – woop woop!). Now that I’ve shared my travel guides for Positano, Ravello and Capri, I only have a couple of outfits left to share from our trip to Italy! I wore this backless maxi dress on our first day in Rome, and I’m absolutely head-over-heels in love with it. The low back, high slit and floral poppy pattern all add to the allure, without revealing too much skin. It was the perfect easy, breezy dress to wear for walking around Rome all day sightseeing! (It also comes in a short dress version and two piece version if you’re not a fan of maxi dresses.)

On another note, I LOVED Rome. It’s like a way cooler and prettier version of NYC, but filled with history and beautiful, crumbling statues everywhere you look. These photos were taken in Piazza Navona, the remains of what was once a stadium called Circus Domitianus, built in 85 A.D. We got pizza at a nearby pizza restaurant and sat for an hour, just taking everything in.

xoxo

  2. One thing I loved about Rome is all the pretty squares and piazzas- Piazza Navona is spectacular and the fountain by Bernini is so so beautiful!

This outfit is too perfect for Rome and having a sun hat like this one is a must for summer-time exploring!

  10. This is stunning, and Piazza Navona is my favorite place in Rome! This brings back memories, actually, when I was wearing a maxi dress in Piazza Navona and tripped crossing the street, falling on my face! The motorcycles stopped for me, thankfully. 🙂

  17. I lived in that piazza during my semester abroad! Our rooms were in what used to be the convent, attached to the Sant'Agnese church and directly across from the Fountain of the Four Rivers! Oh, what lovely times! Thanks for the flash-back 🙂
