25 Ways to Add Joy to Your Day

There’s a lot of focus on the negative right now, and I want to focus on just positive things today. Like, the field near my house with wild daisies growing everywhere. Or my beautiful floral minidress from Nordstrom, that happens to be from sustainable clothing brand Reformation. In addition to making GORGEOUS dresses, Reformation puts sustainability at the core of everything they do – from the fabrics they use, to their zero carbon emissions.

To bring even more positivity to your life, I wanted to share some super simple ways that you can add joy to your day!

25 Ways to Add Joy to Your Day

  1. Go on a long walk outdoors. Remember to breathe deeply.
  2. Wake up and do a short yoga class.
  3. Write a thank-you note to yourself.
  4. Find a piece of jewelry you haven’t worn in a while & wear it! Feels like shopping in your own closet.
  5. Send yourself a bouquet of your favorite flowers.
  6. Write down three things that you’re grateful for.
  7. Bake something that will make your whole house smell good.
  8. Draw for fun or color in a coloring book.
  9. Give yourself a mini facial (this tool really helps!).
  10. Get rid of two items in your physical environment that make you feel negative.
  11. Do something good for the environment: plant a tree!
  12. Bite into a piece of fresh fruit.
  13. Create a list of 10 things you love about your significant other and surprise him/her with the list.
  14. Wake up in time to catch the sunrise with a cup of coffee.
  15. Take a hot bath and put on a cozy robe afterward.
  16. Try a new recipe.
  17. Write a letter to your grandparents.
  18. Order yourself a new pretty mug to drink your coffee or tea out of.
  19. Change your sheets.
  20. Dance to your favorite song.
  21. Get your thoughts down on paper.
  22. Meditate.
  23. Wake up a little earlier to cook a yummy breakfast – cinnamon rolls, anyone?
  24. Find a nice patch of grass, throw down a blanket and have a picnic.
  25. Light your favorite candle that you’ve been saving.

If you have more ideas for ways to bring joy to your day, please let us all know in the comments!

    Great list! I will add:
Give yourself a 10 minute facial or mani/pedi
Add some seasonal decorations to your living space
Steep a cup of tea and read a daily meditation (my favorite is Simple Abundance)
    Go barefoot outside
    Breathe!

Why is this dress SO expensive? $218 is a lot! It’s beautiful though.

    • I think because itโ€™s a sustainable brand! They work really hard to make sure the fabric is sustainable, offset the carbon emissions, and it is really high quality so they expect you to wear it for years ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. I think a great way to bring joy to your day is to sit down and write out your goals, and then make a plan on how to pursue them! Also, I love this post Caitlin. Thank you for always inspiring me!

I LOVE this! Thanks for the tips! My sister & I live together & these are gonna be great to do together with my niece! Also, every time I get a new candle out of storage (I used to work at BBW so I have enough candles to start my own store) we get so excited to light it & watch a movie!

  10. I’m not a Christian but I finally opened the Bible that my MIL gifted us on our Wedding (NYE). I’m on Genesis Chapter 25. I’ve actually been enjoying ‘story time’ in the evenings with my Husband (he’s a Christian). We read about 2 Chapters per night and I ask him questions if I’m confused.

I’ve been really enjoying that time with him.
