My (Updated) Nighttime Routine

Happy Friday, everyone! I thought it would be fun to share my updated nighttime routine with you all (I love hearing about others’ routines!) and mine has changed a little bit since moving into the house.

Step One: The first thing I do when I am ready to start winding down for the night is put on pajamas and a cozy robe. I am all about comfy clothes and usually if I know I’m going to be staying in all night, I’ll change into them pretty early on in the evening. This robe has been my go-to lately, it feels like being wrapped up in a cloud!!

Step Two: I have always been a bath person rather than a shower person, so at night I love to soak in a bubble bath. I’ll either read a book or watch a YouTube video while I’m in the bath… I try not to do anything work-related because the whole goal is to relax! (Sometimes I’ll pour a glass of wine to drink while I soak in the tub… now that is ultimate relaxation haha.) If you’re looking for a good bubble bath, this product makes my whole bathroom smell like a spa! It’s heavenly.

Step Three: I take my contacts out, brush my teeth and put my retainer in (yes I still wear a retainer, haha!).

Step Four: I take off my makeup and wash my face. This is one of my favorite parts of the whole day – I love taking off my makeup and using luxurious products to make it feel like I’m getting a facial every night! I’ve been trying out L’Occitane’s new Divine Collection, so I start by massaging the Divine Cleansing Balm onto my face to dissolve my makeup. Then I use the Divine Foaming Cleansing Cream, a luxurious cream that transforms into a moisture-rich lather with water.

Step Five: After washing my face, I moisturize (I have pretty dry skin, so if I skip this step, my skin will look dry and flaky the next day). I use this Divine Cream – it’s like a miracle cream because it moisturizes while also addressing multiple signs of aging. For an extra boost and glow I love mixing a drop of the Divine Youth Oil with the cream.

Step Six: The last thing I do is usually take Winnie outside for one final time and then set the security system for the night. Then I pour a glass of water to keep on my nightstand, put on some lip balm (I hate waking up with chapped lips) and read until I fall asleep. Winnie and George both sleep in the bed with me too… George sleeps at the bottom of the bed, and Winnie usually cuddles with me! I love my little zoo 😉

I would love to hear your nighttime routine if it’s different than mine! Let me know in the comments and happy Friday everyone!

  19. Hi Caitlin! I know you used to live in Charlotte and I was wondering if you could recommend a good hair salon. I just moved here and am worried about trusting someone new to do my hair. It would be greatly appreciated!!
