Hot Pink Sweater

hot pink sweater, also love this one // Charlotte Russe ripped jeans, similar HERE & HERE

I just have to laugh because in some of these pictures it looks like Winnie has a beard! She has little white hairs underneath her chin and when they get pushed out she looks like an old man!! (Hahah… anyway..) This hot pink sweater from Nordstrom is one of my new favorites. I love pink any time of year – fall, winter, spring, summer – it’s just such a girly, happy color. This sweater is a little bit of an investment but it’s sooo comfortable and really nice quality. I’m obsessed! Nordstrom seriously has the best fall selection, but you already know I think that if you’ve been following me for long 🙂 Also, I’ve been wearing this MAC lipstick nonstop (in the color “gumball”). The formula is so nice and creamy and they are incredibly long-lasting… Nordstrom carries all of the colors, they are definitely worth checking out if you’re in the market for new lipstick!

What are y’all’s plans for the weekend?! Chris and I have a day trip to Blowing Rock planned with another couple on Saturday. We are bringing Winnie along too… I felt so bad for her yesterday, she had to get some shots at the vet and she whimpered/cried so loudly during it and for five minutes after! She got the shot in her right shoulder and the entire rest of the day she would yip if I touched anywhere near that area, and she could barely walk. Dog moms, is that normal?

xoxo

  2. That pink is such a great pop of color this season! My dog isn't normally affected by shots, be he's also 60 pounds! I bet she's much more sensitive to them bc she is so small. If her pain lasts more than a day though you may want to call your vet and check it out.

  14. LOVE that sweater. Might have to snag it myself. My teacup Yorkie, Knox, reacted similar when he was Winnie's age. He slept alllllll day after getting his first round of shots. I was out at a craft fair and ended up having to carry him all day because he was too drowsy to walk! Welcome to dog mom-dom. 🙂

  16. we have a Cavalier King Charles and he is always in pain and whimpers after shots for a day or two. If you ask the vet to give them a shot of pain meds, it makes a world of difference. Small dogs lack muscle bigger dogs have which is why they have more pain with shots.

  21. Winnie is adorable! With her being so tiny I would definitely do some research on what vaccines she needs. My mom breeds french bulldogs and is very good friends with her vet and she is very strict on not over vaccinating your dogs! Some breeds do not do well with certain shots and they can be more harmful then helpful! Just don't want anything bad to happen to our furry babies! I am obsessed with my dogs I have 2 frenchies and an english bulldog and they are my loves! I love hearing about your new babe and seeing her in your pics!!!!!

  22. When my dog was a puppy, she was only 7 pounds, she was sore the day of and next day after her second round of shots. My vet told me some dogs have thinner skin so it hurts them more. My vet did say watch her for a few days to make sure the pain went away. My dog, Stella, got over the pain and is 3 now.

  25. That is so normal, my pup didn't cry during. But after an hour or so when it became sore, she would not let us touch her. So what I did i just made her a cozy area for her to lay and rest. Because she would not let me bring her on the bed for cuddles.

  27. Totally normal for Winnie to be sensitive about the area she got her shots in, my dog was the same way when she was a puppy. She'll be okay! -fellow dog mom instagram @chelsea_wilson91

  37. I think each dog just has their own reactions to things like that. My little guy doesn't even flinch when he gets his shots or blood drawn, but try to give him the nasal kennel cough vaccine and you can FORGET ABOUT IT. Haha…. I am sure she will be fine! 🙂

  39. Hey pretty!

    Love your outfit!!

The last part of your blog concerned me. Winnie is super small so some soreness may occur but I would be worried about the vet. Usually when a shot is given carelessly does major bruising and soreness persist. My dog, Bagheera has never had an issue with soreness after shots even when she was 8 lbs.

    I hope she's doing better.
