Quick Instagram Roundup + Life Update!

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Sorry for the late post, I’m spending the night at my Gramma’s house and we are having a slow start this morning! Here’s a quick round-up of some of my latest instagrams, scroll down to the bottom for a life update. 🙂
One of my favorite combos for fall… a swing dress and blanket scarf!
Outfit idea for fall - swing dress, blanket scarf and over-the-knee boots
swing dress, similar HERE (I also own that one!) // scarf // over-the-knee boots // Gucci handbag
This cozy cardigan was just re-stocked. I reach for it almost every day in my apartment – it’s easy to throw on over anything!
Love the leopard heels and Prada handbag
What to wear to the pumpkin patch
Michele watch // David Yurman braceletmorganite ring

You all know my weakness for an all-black outfit…

All black outfit + leopard
oversized sweater (wearing XS, comes in four colors & less than $40!) // lace-up heels
similar faux leather leggings HERE & HERE // Clare V leopard sandrine tote, similar HERE

Right now AG Jeans is having their 25% off sale. If you’re in the market for new jeans, AG is one of my very favorite brands (you probably already know that if you’ve been following me for long!).
I love pattern mixing in the fall! Leopard, stripes and plaids are some of my favorite patterns.

Fall outfit idea

Okay… so my life update is that my boyfriend and I are thinking about getting a puppy!!! I have wanted a puppy for a really long time now and have been seriously “puppy hunting” for the past couple of months. And I think we’ve finally found “the one!” 🙂 I don’t want to share too many details yet since it might still fall through, buuuut if all goes well I’ll be road tripping next week to visit her. If anyone has tips on how to introduce a puppy to a cat, please let me know! I have been researching and reading a lot but any advice would be wonderful!

  11. Ahhh that's so exciting!!! It's going to be a bigger change to George than the puppy. The puppy is going to want to explore the cat and play (maybe roughly) but dependent on George's temperament he should warm up to the puppy. Good luck!

  12. Since you're getting a puppy the introduction will be just fine! We adopted our then 1.5 yr old dog from the shelter and made sure we chose a dog that gets along well with other dogs and cats. We didn't have much of an introduction planned, just kept the pup on a leash to see how she reacted to our 7 year old cat and passed with flying colors 🙂

  15. Hey Caitlin! We have two cats and two dogs! our cats were much older when we introduced them to our 10 week old husky. just start them together as soon as you get the puppy! they have cat treats at petsmart and petco for cats, we would give ours treats as well as the puppy when they were learning who the other one was! one of our cats doesn't care for our dogs but the dogs also doesnt mess with her!
We got another husky who was 9 months old, she is much harder to train to get along with the cats.
So just introduce them as soon as you bring the puppy home! Hope this helps, you're going to love having a puppy!

  19. I really think you should take into consideration the temperament of your cat when choosing a dog. My cat is extremely playful and loves attention, my dog is the same way so they get along great. I honestly think they love each other more than they love me. I also want to take the time to recommend that you search shelters when looking for an animal. Especially Pit Bulls, they are quickly euthanized but are actually WONDERFUL animals. There are so many dogs looking for wonderful owners such as yourself that risk being killed if no one will take them in.

  22. Has your cat been exposed to dogs in the past? How have they reacted? If they have been exposed to dogs before and didn't seem to have a problem, then they should become fast friends in no time. A puppy is like a clean slate when it comes to meeting other animals. Our oldest cat grew up with a large dog who played really really rough with him and he loved it. He has since lived with another dog and two other cats successfully. For him, it is mostly a territorial thing and fighting over who gets more snuggle time. 🙂

So excited to see photos! Always love your Instagram roundups.

  24. Hi Caitlin! I'm sure everything will be all right between George and your new puppy. He will be a great "father"or brother 🙂 Just don't forget to show him that you still love him so much!
And your outfits are all gorgeous, but my favorite is the one with yellow sweater. Just one question: are you wearing AG jeans in "17 years rowing wind" with it from AG site? Because on you they are so similar to "10 year recreation" from Nordstrom that you're wearing quite often, but on the site their wash looks completely different…
    Thank you in advance,
    Natasha XOXO

  33. My advice on the possible puppy would be to ensure you have adequate time to give to it for potty training and the puppy energy they have( I know you travel a lot for work). How has George done around other dogs will help gauge how he feels about dogs. If its a larger dog as opposed to a smaller one like your mom has, he may have a harder time adjusting. If you guys do decide to get one, when you go visit ask if you can take something that has the pups sent on it (a blanket or toy) to take home and have around George to get him used to the scent before bringing the puppy home! Good luck!

  36. Hey Caitlin! I LOVE your blog and all of your outfits!! I was wondering if you might be able to do a little business casual series? As a 21 year old who works in a (non-creative) office I'm always trying to look cute and professional and stray away from the usual frumpy clothes and have a really solid set of staples.

  37. Just came here to agree with everyone else who said Adopt Don't Shop! I volunteer at my local shelter and there are so many amazing dogs that don't get the chance they deserve!
My advice is to be patient: Don't expect your cat to be BFFs with your puppy right away, and make sure the cat can escape if she feels she needs to–if you try to force them together she could lash out. But over time (which could be months or a year+) they'll probably come to love one another.
