5 Easy Last-Minute Halloween Costume Ideas

1. A Starbucks Frappuccino
I did a whole blog post on this easy DIY costume last year – it’s so cute and costs less than $40 to make! Most of the items are available at Michaels, except for the beige slip (mine is from Target). I got so many compliments last year, and some people thought it was a store-bought costume! For more pictures and directions on how to make it, click HERE for the full blog post.
2. Eleven from Stranger Things
Eleven Stranger Things Halloween costume
This show was one of my favorites from 2016, my boyfriend and I watched the entire series in three days. The main character, Eleven (Elle), would be a really easy costume to replicate. She wears a pink dress with peter pan collar (just buy a pink dress and layer it over a collared shirt) with a bomber jacket on top. If you really want to get into character, draw on a bloody nose (with lipstick!) and carry about a bunch of Eggo waffle boxes.
3. Netflix and Chill

This one requires a partner, but there are a billion ways to pull this off and make it look cute! Start with oversized tees and buy iron-on letters from Michaels for the lettering on the T-shirts. The “Chill” person can wear a blue wig, a snowflake headband or iron on little snowflakes – anything to show that they are cold. These girls on Pinterest really got it right and look adorable!
4. Snapchat Filters

I think this one is so creative (and cute!). These girls emulated their favorite snapchat filters with a flowered headband and yellow butterflies (complete with gold glitter!). This one is an excuse to do your makeup (and contouring) really well and to look pretty all night. You could also do you makeup like the dog filter, and add dog ears! This one would be fun to do with a group of friends and all wear black outfits.
5. A Pretty Scarecrow

This one is pretty easy and you’re guaranteed to already have the costume components in your closet. All you need is a plaid shirt, floppy hat, jeans and booties. The fun part of this costume is the makeup – there are a bunch of tutorials for scarecrow makeup on the internet, but I really like this one.
I’m also pinning a bunch of Halloween costume ideas on my Pinterest page, follow along HERE! πŸ™‚
Oh and if you have any good ideas for costumes that are easy to create, leave them in the comments so we can all see!

  17. Cute costumes! So I am making my way through all of the books from your book post not too long ago and I am reading The Obsession and loving it! But I am a huge dog lover and I'm so scared something's going to happen to the dog. Can you tell me if something bad happens to him? I don't know if I can finish reading it if so. I loved all of the other books on the list though!! I flew through them so I need some more recommendations! Lol. Thanks for everything you do Caitlin!
