There are two types of people in this world: mountain people and beach people. Some prefer the the solitude and wonder of the mountains… others find no greater joy than by the sea. You can probably guess which type of person I am 🙂 Ever since I was young, I have loved being by the ocean. It may sound dumb, but my soul feels at peace at the beach – and for one week of the year, everything is right in the world. My dad and I love taking long beach walks, and we have some of our best and deepest life conversations during those times. And my mom and I… we just love being silly together! The only thing we are missing this year is my brother, who is working in Japan. We miss you Chris!
On to the outfit… I am loving this colorful swimsuit top and bottoms (you may recognize them because I also have the one piece version). But my favorite part of the whole outfit is actually the beach cover-up! The lace detailing absolutely gorgeous in person, and so are the little sunflowers that line the top. I would live in it if I could!

North Carolina, especially the Charlotte area, is great for people who like the mountains AND the beach! I'm a beach girl all the way (having a mom who's from Florida, with many vacations there growing up, will do that to ya!) but I also love the mountain trip once a year. It's a place where both options are easily accessible! Great pics! I also love walking on the beach with my dad and having good conversations!
