iPhone Snaps (Recent Outfits + LA Trip!)

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I apologize for the super long post, but I wanted to share some recent photos from my phone & some of my LA trip! Enjoy…
This outfit is going to be a favorite come fall… my favorite part is that the scarf is less than $30.
high/low tunic (would also look great with leggings) // leopard scarf (less than $30)
A peek at my bedroom, you can see the entire bedroom tour here if you missed it. Also loving this Celine bag (the size is “mini”) that’s new this fall!

It was pouring rain on Sunday and I was stuck inside… so I baked cookies and read pretty much all day! This cardigan is so so cozy, I keep it in my office whenever I get cold. It’s easy to throw on over pretty much anything.

plaid shirt // textured cardigan (so cozy!) // dark wash jeans // vanity

Some favorites right now… I have mentioned this lip combo before, but you must try MAC “pink plaid” lipstick paired with the “ample pink” gloss. It’s a dream fall lip combo.

MAC lipstick in “pink plaid” // MAC lip gloss in “ample pink”

I wore this one day to run errands in… and yes, I realize I slightly resemble Dorothy in this picture haha (all that’s missing is Toto!). Except I don’t think Dorothy knew about this scalloped skirt because if she did, she for sure would have been wearing it. FYI – size up in the skirt. I’m wearing a U.S. 4.

Last night I was feeling really terrible & my throat was killing me, so I made some tomato bisque & sipped it out of this adorable Swoozie’s mug. Afterward I had Cheetoh Puffs for dessert (haha). My body craves the weirdest things when I’m sick!

This duster cardigan is gorgeous in person & I LOVE the maroon color for fall.

The rest of these photos are from my trip to L.A. last week! This is the outfit I wore to the airport the first day. Since the flight from Charlotte to L.A. is 5 hours long, I knew I wanted to wear something super comfortable. I brought the scarf along in my carry-on & used it as a blanket and a head rest on the flight!
This picture is from my first day in L.A. before the Nordstrom Rack event that night! The dress I’m wearing is actually from Nordstrom Rack, and I thought it had the perfect laid-back vibe for the first day.
floral dress // YSL handbag, less expensive version here // fringe booties
Nordstrom Rack sponsored the first half of my trip to LA, and this is the view from our hotel! We stayed at the LINE Hotel in Koreatown, one of the most unique and beautiful hotels I’ve ever been in. The rooms were very industrial and cool, and an entire wall was a huge window looking out on California. You can even spot the “Hollywood” sign if you look close enough!
This was my outfit for the second day at the Nordstrom Rack summit. I love love this blouse – can you spy the little hearts hidden in the pattern?
The last night of the summit, the Nordstrom Rack team took us to Perch for dinner. This was by far the best (dinner) meal I had in LA! It was partially because the food was really great, and partially because I couldn’t get over the view. The restaurant sits on the top floor of a building and offers an amazing view of the city – plus live music!
The next day was the official end of the Nordstrom Rack summit, but I opted to stay in LA for a few more days to explore and visit with friends. I met with my friend Sarah (better known as Sarah Belle!) for lunch at Bottega Louie, a really great Italian restaurant with even better macaroons. Plus, the whole place is made of marble. The outfit below is what I wore most of that day!
white tee // Zara jeans (old) // similar nude heels
My friends Emily and Elle flew into LA that night, so we had the next couple of days free to explore. The first thing we did that morning was head to Starbucks and then The Grove – a really neat outdoor mall with lots of great stores and restaurants. They even have a Zara, which I really wish we had in NC!

A really cool street in West Hollywood…

I wore this sleeveless turtleneck to dinner that night – we went to a small authentic Italian restaurant called Amarone that was a few blocks away from our hotel.

The next day we visited Rodeo Drive… the most beautiful street I’ve ever seen. Huge palm trees rise to the sky & there’s the best shopping you could ever imagine! My favorite part of this day was going to Lemonade, a really trendy restaurant with a few locations throughout LA. I LOVED the mac’n’cheese and the watermelon lemonade!

floral shirtdress // YSL handbag, less expensive version here // fringe booties
That night we all headed to Pink Taco for a girls night (we are all a little obsessed with Mexican food) and this was my outfit! It was definitely the best way to end the trip!

And finally… I haven’t posted this to instagram yet, because it hasn’t been online, but I picked up this poncho from Nordy’s the other day and can’t wait to wear it this fall! I am thinking of it with an all black outfit and riding boots. Swoon!

Whew okay sorry for the long post! I’m currently cooped up in bed because my cold turned into something worse, and I can barely swallow (when I do, it feels like knives are scraping my throat). I hope everyone has a great Wednesday… I’ll be in bed watching Nicholas Sparks movies. That’s not a joke because I just rented “The Longest Ride” – I’ll let you know how it is!

xoxo

  9. Hope you feel better soon! The best way to recover is staying in bed watching something you like for sure. Loved reading this post and seeing all the pictures from LA. I have never been, but it looks beautiful and reminds of the Canary Islands where I grew up, so I really want to visit soon! P.S. that last cape would look amazing with an all-black outfit, you must do that look and share it 🙂

We have so many cute fall clothes where I work, but I'm still soaking up every last minute of summer!! 🙂 So sorry that you aren't feeling well though!! Drink a cup of hot water with lemon and honey in it for your throat. Drink a few of them throughout the day if you can. It always helps me. Have a great night! 🙂
