Beach to Boardwalk

Kohl’s peasant blouse (different color), similar one here // Lauren Conrad denim shorts (similar)
Hello loves… I’m a little giddy today becauuuuse I’ve been waiting to tell you about a fun little project I’ve been working on for Kohl’s called #DestinationSummer! Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing (and pinning) some of my favorite looks that are perfect for vacationing on the North Carolina coast.

Today, I wanted to show how easy it is to transition from the beach to the boardwalk… starting with this cute anchor print bikini! The bright green and blue colors really pop on the beach, so I built my entire outfit around the suit by adding a peasant blouse and jean shorts. I bought the peasant top in a size XL so I could wear it as a beach cover-up or as an oversized top with shorts. The finishing touch was these embellished gladiator sandals (which I have been wearing nonstop). For $35, you just can’t beat the quality and cuteness of these sandals!

A little back story… my family has been vacationing at Ocean Isle Beach, NC, since I was born (I even learned to walk there as a baby). Every summer my entire family rents a house at OIB for one week… it’s the week I look forward to the most out of the whole year! Ocean Isle is a small, family beach. There’s three restaurants on the island, two ice cream shops, one putt put course, and hundreds of multi-colored cottages that line the ocean’s shores. I am convinced that it is the most perfect place on the Earth! I will literally stay in my bikini ALL day long, until everyone showers to go out to dinner. Then I like to get dressed up 😉 Psst – that’s a hint for my next post!

In the meantime, be sure to follow Kohl’s #DestinationSummer Pinterest board for some more of my favorites.

  10. Ahhh I have been to Ocean Isle Beach before! When I first came to NC two summers ago for college orientation in July, my dad rented a car and we went to Ocean Isle for a few days after to get a taste of what Southern beaches were like. It was so much fun! We also took a day trip to Myrtle Beach which I LOVED- I wished we could have spent more time there as well! The beaches in Maine where I'm from are beautiful as well but so different from Ocean Isle- and Ocean Isle definitely has the warmer water 😉

And love that cute bikini!! Those are two of my favorite colors!
