Summer Fridays

TGIF, my friends! I have a very busy Friday planned and we are finishing with another Date Night Friday tonight! And speaking of date night, I might just re-wear this beautiful off-the-shoulder dress. My friend Rachel shared this dress on her stories and I thought it was designer (and therefore, super expensive). I could not believe it when I saw that the price was less than $30! The exact dress is sold out right now (they will probably restock it, so keep checking). Meanwhile, I found very similar ones made by the same company here, here & here. I love the fit and how feminine it is!

We have been getting up early every Saturday to head to the Farmer’s Market but I think we might give it a break this Saturday and sleep in, instead. I think I get a little too ambitious on weekends sometimes and try to accomplish too much! We are hoping to take it easy this weekend, and hopefully the weather is nicer (you North Carolinians know what I’m talking about – it has been a week of nonstop clouds and rain!).

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

THIS is what summer feels like to me–wearing flip flops, walking the dog, going to the farmers market on the weekend. I know bloggers have had to rethink content beyond luxury travel, but it has been a real gift to us regular folks. I like seeing how y’all elevate the everyday and make it fun and pretty. It’s so much more relatable and inspiring to see how you spend your time at home and at local vacation spots as opposed to exotic cliff-side hotels abroad. I hope you are enjoying it as much as we are. Home is where the heart is.

Caitlin, I am responding to your story about a comment on this post about our preference between travel posts or stay at home posts. You do YOU! I love the stay at home posts; I am a teacher, so I don’t have the means to travel very often. I can definitely relate to trips to the farmers market and low key date nights. I love that you’ve been sharing so many unique ideas to keep us smiling during rough times. However, I do also love your travel posts! I will probably never or rarely have the opportunity to travel to exotic places, but I LOVE the pictures and living vicariously through you. The photos put a big smile on my face. My point is that regardless of what you post, you’re a huge light on social media. I appreciate your candor, the way you put your whole heart into your career, and your willingness to share a small piece of your life with us. You could post a photo of you and your husband sitting at your kitchen table or a photo of you in a castle in Europe, and I’d still follow you. I look forward to all of your future content! Do whatever your heart desires! Have a beautiful weekend.

I like the travel posts too. They are more aspirational but I think you have a good mix of content. My only suggestion on the travel posts is that it would be helpful to understand how much is sponsored/not. (Not that I think you would endorse anything you don’t genuinely like! But there is a difference between selecting a hotel bc you did research and think it’s the best choice vs. it’s one of many nice options and you got a discounted stay).

Caitlin! I’ve followed you for years and absolutely LOVE your aesthetic. I’m looking to get a Goldendoodle soon and would love to know more about Winnie! Such as her breed, what she eats, etc. I can use all the help I can get with advice on a new pup! Keep being you!❤️
