Checking in with you + Huge Nordstrom Sale

Happyyyyy Friday, you guys! I usually look forward to Friday all week, but honestly the days have started blending together a little bit! I didn’t even remember it was Friday when I woke up this morning. Today was a “down” day for me – I started feeling anxious/depressed after listening to the news this morning. I can’t believe how many people are sick, how many people have lost jobs, how many small businesses are struggling. There’s a lot going on that makes my heart hurt, and I can’t help but wish that this would all just go away. Since I haven’t left my house in so long, I’m starting to get a bit of cabin fever at home – I know it just means that I need to be more creative when coming up with ideas of things to do! I’ve already been reading and cooking a ton… but I think I need some sort of big “project” to work on. I’d love to hear what you guys have been doing while you’re stuck at home! Trying to keep a positive outlook throughout all of this 🙂

Sooo, remember last week when Nordstrom had their big 25% off sale? Well, they just announced an EVEN BIGGER SALE. Right now a bunch of stuff is marked 40% off for their Spring Sale. I’m linking a bunch of my favorite pieces below, all up to 40% off!

*Thanks to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post

I haven’t worked since March 17 and I too am trying to be positive ! The news and not being able to travel or plan a trip is really beginning to get to me … I’m going to start a project building a terrarium with little succulent plants and cactus. Hopefully all this will end soon , I hope everyone stays safe and healthy ! : )

  2. I can totally relate, friend! The news is so depressing and it’s hard for me to listen to much these days. I try to watch just enough to stay informed, but then try to keep my social media as positive as possible. I’ve been off work (thankfully, paid while off) since last week when our Stay at Home order started, and then it’ll be reassessed after next week. I think it’ll likely be extended.

So I’ve just been trying to put all the work I can into my blog and trying to get my house organized and deep cleaned. 🙂

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!! 🙂

Lady, thank you for letting us into your life and keeping it up during this time. I too am stuck in leggings and comfy tops right now hoping I can wear my new sunny yellow sandals soon.
Thank goodness for our fur babies and the endless love they give us, I know my doggo is very happy that I have been home. I am thankful for my time with him. If there is anything I can take away this it’s from my dogs point of view . Adapt and thrive, enjoy the sunshine and live in this moment.

I work at a hospital, so staying home is not an option for me Monday-Friday…however, I am trying to get a jump on spring cleaning & organizing over the weekends so that I will be ready to enjoy all my favorite restaurants & happy hour spots with friends once this is all over. Being productive & staying positive is a choice!

  9. I know, all of this is so crazy right now… I am too trying my hardest to keep a little bit of a positive attitude – after all, that’s all we can really do! What I am doing right now to keep busy: I implemented the habit of stretching every single day and have started to really see improvements! I am actually working on practizing the splits haha, so random, but it gives me a goal to work towards! Also, I am trying to brush up on my Spanisch (almost) everyday, which gives me a sense of learning something new 🙂
Thanks for keeping us entertained by posted your content!

Caitlin! I understand how you feel, it is difficult not to take the news to heart. Especially when you have a big one! I was laid off last week, and while it was upsetting and I can play the blame game on how this came to be (I won’t go off on a political/world war here ha!) I am trying to pray even more and count my blessings; I have 3 healthy beautiful children, a great husband, and our health. I let myself have a moment, and just told myself that now is the time to do some reflecting and go after what I want. I have been getting some much needed things done around here- i.e painting a french french provincial that was a horrid mess, organizing, and much needed cleaning. I am going to even pick up a hobby or two in between.*** I know you have touched this before, but what about some blog tips/tutorials? I have been wanting to start one, and I am thinking now just may time to Carpe Diem! Thanks for the cozy clothes ideas, I need to add some cute ones to my wardrobe…cozy + cute is a win – win!

  11. The morning news can be so overwhelming. I hadn’t watched it for several days and when I turned it back on, I was shocked at how quickly the numbers tripled since my last check-in. As you said, it’s hard not to be worried about everyone this is having an impact on. We have several organizations raising money for restaurants and chefs that are out of jobs due to closures. I love that idea in addition to those raising money to donate lunches to hospitals. We planted our spring flowers over the weekend and transferred our veggies outside for summer harvest. I’m excited to see all of our veggies come to fruition. We planted a lot this season!

  14. This week is hitting me harder since it’s the 3rd week at home. I agree that maybe a bigger project will help take my mind off of it. The spring time is one of my favorite times so it’s hard to not be enjoying it in the same way. Love the pink slippers!

With you gal – so much of it is starting to weigh on my heart! It is hard to not get overwhelmed by all that is happening. We have been trying to stay busy with lots of walks, workouts, and house projects. Am happy to be getting so many things done.
