Chambray Dress + A Must-Read Book!

Charleston outfit

Chambray dress

LOVE this chambray dress with neon clutch
Spring outfit idea

blue surplice dress (wearing XS) // YSL clutch, similar and less expensive version here

I wore this blue surplice dress in Charleston last week – if you’ve been there before, you may recognize the background as Rainbow Row! It’s the prettiest street in Charleston (in my opinion!) because each house is painted a different bright, beautiful color, and it’s only a few feet away from the battery. (Seriously, if you haven’t been to Charleston you MUST go.) Anyways, back to the dress! Not only is it really cute, but it kept me cool in the Charleston humidity the entire time… and it’s less than $50. (It also comes in a few more colors, below.)

On another note, this Sunday I sat down to read Emily Maynard’s new book and literally couldn’t put it down. I read the whole thing that day. I’ve been a fan of Emily Maynard ever since her days on The Bachelor, but this book made me love her even more. It’s so easy to look at her (or many celebrities) and think that they are perfect and have their life together – but that is often not the case. Maynard is very transparent about issues she has struggled with her entire life, and how a relationship with God saved her. I cried through many parts of the book –  If you are looking to read a new book, I highly recommend! 🙂

xoxo

  21. Cute dress, beautiful street, and Emily Maynard is my favorite, too. I have started, but haven't finished her book yet because I was already in the middle of another one when it arrived from Amazon, but it will be finished by the end of the week! I'm also going to read Kristen Cavallari's new book. Looks good, too!

  32. Can you do a post on how you get such great photos? I know you've mentioned your Mom takes them, but how do you get such great lighting (what settings on your camera do you use?) and how do you get all the angles right (taking a close-up shot vs. far away)?
