#NSale Pink Sweatshirt

Sincerely Jules pink sweatshirt (included in the NSale! Also comes in light blue)
white shorts // Kate Spade tassel sneakers (sold out), similar HERE
Celine sunglasses, similar HERE // Louis Vuitton Neverfull, buy pre-owned HERE
cubic zirconia stud earrings (on sale!) // initial necklace
crossover ring // Michele watch // MAC lipstick in "pink nouveau" with Chanel gloss on top

Hi everyone! First of all thank you so so so much for all of the kind comments on Friday's post! Seriously you guys are the best. So thankful to have you all in my life. And also thank you for your advice about trying on wedding dresses!!! (I'm actually going today to try on some dresses with my mom, and I will definitely keep an open mind!)

Anyway, back to today's outfit... this pink sweatshirt is included in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and I just love it. It also comes in a beautiful light blue color and a neutral tan color. It's also very comfortable. I chose to wear it with shorts because it was blazing hot this weekend, but it is also SUPER cute with jeans (maybe when it gets a bit cooler outside). I also wanted to share this initial necklace that I've been wearing nonstop for the past couple of weeks - it's daintier than a classic monogram, and I just love how delicate and classy it is. Plus it's less than $50 :)

Did everyone have a good weekend? My best friend since the 3rd grade came to visit me this weekend and she is pregnant with a baby boy! We had so much fun talking about baby stuff and catching up (she lives in Raleigh). Also this is totally random but I found this song over the weekend and can't stop listening to it - every time I hear it I want to dance!

xoxo

#NSale Opens to the Public + HUGE LIFE UPDATE!

Sooooo today is the day we've all been waiting for... the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally live to the public! I hope you have your shopping lists ready, because things will go fast!! If something you want is sold out, keep checking because Nordstrom will be restocking most items this morning (especially the popular items like the B.P. cardigans and booties!). If you missed it, I did a full mirror try-on and review blog post HERE. There were so many good items in the sale this year, with really steep discounts! Today I'm rounding up some more of my sale outfits from the past week. Scroll down to find the giveaway winners AND for some life updates :)

First up, this Leith easy circle cardigan in both the pink and beige colors. This is one of the softest and most comfortable cardigans I own. I wear it in a size XS.

boyfriend denim shorts (not on sale)

This floral bell sleeve romper is also available in all sizes and is marked down to $35. I'm wearing a size XS!

Valentino sandals (not on sale) // YSL lipstick in "beige tribute" (not on sale)

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale also has TONS of cute workout gear this year! I snagged this cropped sweatshirt and a new pair of Zella high-waisted leggings. I love these for both my pure barre workouts and for running errands around town.

This side slit tee is (in my opinion) one of the best items in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They're marked down to $15.90 and SUCH high quality (much thicker than last year's version). It comes in several colors. I'm wearing a size XS.

white pants (not on sale) // monogram necklace (not on sale)

These Kate Spade tassel sneakers - I just die every time I see them! They're the perfect casual sneaker that you can wear to lunch with your girlfriends, to class or even on a casual date night. I sized down half a size for a perfect fit.

Kate Spade Lenna Tassel sneakers

This Topshop lattice back sweater is another favorite purchase - if you want to see the front, I reviewed it in this blog post. It is made of a really soft material and feels so comfortable on! (Side note - you don't have to wear it off-the-shoulder like I'm doing here.) I'm wearing the size US 2.

Tory Burch has some AMAZING items in the sale this year - including this handbag and these sandals  which remind me of the Miller sandals and are just as cute. My handbag is in the color "light oak" and my sandals are in the color "makeup." Both look like a very soft pink in person.

Not everything from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is geared towards fall - you can start wearing this satin cold shoulder top right now, and it's marked down to less than $30. I'm wearing a size XS.

This polka dot blouse stole my heart right away - especially for only $31.90! It's a great top for work, I can envision it with black pants or a pencil skirt. Wearing size XS.

boyfriend denim shorts (not on sale) // monogram necklace (not on sale)

These B.P. lightweight rib stitch cardigans are guaranteed to sell out - again. Every single color sold out during the Early Access Sale! I bought it in this grey color, as well as beige, green and burgundy. It's incredibly comfortable and can be worn so many different ways, with so many different outfits. It does run a little bit big - I sized down to an XXS in this.

white shorts (not on sale)

This comfy blanket is usually super expensive (it is REALLY thick and high quality), but is marked down $60 during the sale. It's a good time to snag one for the upcoming fall and winter months!

I'm wearing a size 2 in this ruffle sleeve cardigan. It also comes in black!

white pants (not on sale) // white tank (not on sale) // monogram necklace (not on sale)

These Rebecca Minkoff crossbody handbags are the perfect fall handbags and are also included in the sale! They're the perfect size to fit my iPhone 7 Plus, my car keys and a few makeup items.

Fingers crossed that these Moonlight pajamas are re-stocked! I love the pink color and they are soooooo soft! Wearing an XS.

Moonlight pajamas // bedding from Homegoods, pillows from Target

These Marc Jacobs sunglasses are the perfect tortoise sunglasses, and are marked down almost $60.

Another favorite cardigan of mine: this B.P. rib knit cardigan. I love the texture of it, and the fabric is really soft in person. It looks cute paired with a fall scarf! Wearing an XS.

B.P. lace camisole // B.P. rib knit cardigan // Steve Madden sandals

Me and my momma! (She did an entire blog post on her picks from the Nordstrom Sale, if you missed it!) Her ruffle sleeve T-Shirt dress will probably be re-stocked in several colors. This one will be quick to sell out again!

Okay, now for some life updates! I realized the other day that I have done a terrible job of keeping you guys updated with the wedding stuff! Chris and I did book our venue, and the big day will be June 2, 2018 in Charleston, S.C.! Right away we knew that we wanted to have our wedding in Charleston... Chris and I have been going on vacations there ever since we started dating back in 2012. It holds a very special place in our hearts, plus it's just so darn BEAUTIFUL that we couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else. The venue that we picked out is everything this southern gal has ever dreamed of - a cute little Charleston house with a wraparound porch. I can't wait to show you! :)

As far as planning goes, we've booked the florist and the band, and are in the process of booking the caterer. Yesterday, I put together some little gift boxes for my bridesmaids (to ask "Will you be my bridesmaid?") and I think they turned out really well! I plan on sharing those with you next week, once all the girls have received their boxes in the mail. As far as the wedding dress goes, I haven't made any progress on that yet. To be honest, I don't even know what style of dress I want.... yikes! If you guys have any advice for trying on dresses, I would love it!

On another note, something ELSE really exciting has happened recently that I've been bursting to tell you guys... Chris and I bought a house!!!!

ruffle hem maxi skirt  // Showpo white top (sold out)

That's me in front of our new front door, lol! :)

I don't even know where to begin to tell you guys the story behind this! It's SO funny how God works, because growing up, I never in a million years thought that I would end up in Winston Salem, N.C. To be honest, when I initially decided to move here a little more than a year ago, I bawled my eyes out. I knew that it was the right decision for me and Chris, and while I was so excited to finally live in the same city as him, I truly loved Charlotte. I loved my friends, my apartment, the shopping, restaurants, nightlife, etc. I just KNEW I was going to hate Winston. I knew it! But I was wrong. I had a terrible experience moving out of my apartment in Charlotte, and when we got to Winston that day with all of our moving boxes, something sort-of clicked... I immediately felt at peace, like I was finally home. Winston is definitely a small town, but it is charming. People here are so friendly, they ask how your day is and they genuinely want to know. It's such a small town that I take Winnie for a walk and run into five people I know, and spend an hour catching up with each one. I've come to love my little grocery store, my cozy apartment, the people in my apartment building, the Pure Barre instructors, the postman, the taco place down the street. Not only that, but moving here was the first time that Chris and I had lived in the same city in several years. I was worried that we would feel isolated from our family and friends, living far away from them, but instead, it's forced us to be adventurous and make new memories in OUR new city. We began to realize how this sleepy little town is actually full of life... and we began to consider it our home. After we got engaged, we knew my lease was going to be up soon and it was time to look for a true home - a house - where we could put down our roots. After a LOT of searching, we found a house that we both loved. I'll be moving in in about a month (get ready for some interior decorating posts!) and Chris will finish out his lease at his apartment and move in once we're married. After living in small apartments for the past ten years, we can't wait to finally have a driveway and a backyard for Winnie to run around in. We are both over the moon excited, even the smallest things like having an extra guest bedroom for our family and friends to stay in, feels like a huge blessing.

The point of all this is to let you guys know how much we appreciate you, and how excited we are to share this next chapter of our lives with you. Many of you have been here for me since the beginning, through the good and bad times, and it brings tears to my eyes to think of how supportive you've been throughout the years. I've said this in the past, but I consider you guys to be my real-life friends and a very valuable part of my life.

Anyway, on to the fun part. SORRY for making y'all wait so long to find out the giveaway winners, haha!!

My Mom's Picks from the Nordstrom Sale!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017

Hey, friends! Today's post is SUPER exciting... we have a guest poster :) And she's my best friend and mom, Carla (aka Carcar!). Today, my mom will be sharing her picks and reviews from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (which opens to the public TOMORROW!). She picked out some really cute stuff this year that I think y'all are going to love! So without further ado, she's going to take over from here...

"Hi, I'm Caitlin's mom and I'm back again this year with my favorite Nsale picks! If you are new to Southern Curls and Pearls then you might not know I'm usually the one behind the camera lens taking the photos. Hope you guys don't mind us switching it up today, but a few of you requested this post and rest assured Caitlin will be back tomorrow. ;) For sizing reference, I'm 5'4" and usually wear a size 2 or small.

Review: Great fitting versatile tee that's made a little longer, which I really like and the material is a good weight. Wearing an XS.
Price: $17.90, marked down from $25

Review: So give me all the long cardigans!! Love them all and this grey one is another win in my book. Can be worn with jeans, dresses, skirts and even shorts. Wearing a XS petite.
Price: $$49.90, marked down from $79

Review: I bought my first pair of Paige jeans at the Nsale last year and seriously wore them so much and they still look great today. This year's version is not as dark of a wash and I like them even more than last year's! They have just the right amount of stretch and are very flattering. Wearing a size 26 instead of my usual 27.
Price: $99.90, marked down from $189

Review: This scarf is reversible, and I love both sides of it! It has really pretty hues of light blue, navy and brown.
Price: (Sold out! Check tomorrow and it may be restocked)

Review: This was one of my favorite items from the sale. Not only is it really cute and comfy but I can wear it now and this fall with a cardigan. The fit is true to size. Wearing a size small and it has a little extra room but still a great fit. I like that it's a little longer and falls just a couple inches above my knees.
Price: $29.90, marked down from $45

Review: I think this cardigan looks so cute paired with the ruffle T-shirt dress. Can't wait to wear it with jeans in cooler weather. I'll be living in this cardigan this fall!! Wearing an XS.
Price: $49.90, marked down from $75

Review: This is a close second for my favorite item! Softest sweater ever and I love the heather grey color and bell sleeves. I like it with my white jeans but will also love it with dark jeans or slacks. Wearing an XS in this.
Price: $39.90, marked down from $59

Review: This blouse is in Hush Pink and that describes the color very well. A very light pink and the fabric has a little sheen to it making it look a little dressier than your average blouse. Loving this with the dark wash jeans but this would look equally as well with white. Wearing a Small Petite.
Price: $58.90, marked down from $89

Review: The fabric is a soft sweatshirt material and I love the side sleeve details on this sweater. Burgundy has always been a great fall color so I love the color. I'm wearing an XS.
Price: $45.90, marked down from $69

Review: I really like this cold shoulder blouse and the double layer that crosses at the hem. I think this style is flattering for women of all ages because it shows off your shoulders but covers up the back of your arms (not my favorite body part).
Price: $29.90, marked down from $45

Review: Great fitting tee, and it comes in SEVENTEEN different colors! Longer in length and not too thin. Wearing an XS.
Price: $19.90, marked down from $29

Review: Love everything about this one! The colors in this scarf can be worn with so many sweaters and coats. The material is soft and will be warm in the fall and winter.
Price: $24.90, marked down from $38

Review: Love this long cardigan and it has patch pockets!! (So cute) I have worn this with shorts already and know I will be wearing it all fall and winter too. This is oversized so I'm wearing an XXS.
Price: $31.90, marked down from $49

Review: These are the most comfortable booties I've ever owned. The open toe and perforations make them cool enough for summer and the padded foot bed make them so comfortable. It has a 3.5 inch block heel and side zip closure. I know I will be wearing these with so many different outfits now and well into the fall season. I sized down a half size to a size 6 in these.
Price: $129.90, marked down from $195

Review: These are the other pair of booties that I fell in love with. I choose the taupe color because it goes with just about everything. These are also suede with a 3.5 inch heel and a back zip closure. They fit true to my regular shoe size of 6.5.
Price: $99.90, marked down from $145.95

Review:  These boots are tall, hitting me right below the knee. They are really comfortable, and I LOVE the color! They do run large, I sized down a half size.
Price: $149.90, marked down from $224.95

Review: This handbag looks like a designer one, but you can't tell that it's made of faux leather - it looks just like real, pebbled leather. I can see myself running errands with this handbag or getting lunch with my girlfriends.
Price: $52.90, marked down from $79.95

Quality: I love the neutral color of this Rebecca Minkoff handbag, and the fact that it's a crossbody. Although there's embroidery on the front, I was surprised to find that it looks good with every single outfit!
Price: $149.90, marked down from $225

Thanks for letting me show you my picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It was fun to dress in some pretty fall and winter clothes even though its still the middle of July. The way time flies, it will be fall before we know it! And a special thanks to Winnie for being the cutest accessory ever. But seriously thank you to you readers for your support to Southern Curls and Pearls. Y'all are the best!!

xoxo, Carla"
