Pink Sweater in Charleston

Celine sunglasses, similar HERE // Forever 21 earrings, similar HERE
David Yurman ring // MAC lipstick in "pink nouveau"

This was one of my favorite outfits from last week's trip to Charleston. I love love love the baby pink color of this sweater - it's so feminine and chic. These sandals are also loved, and they're surprisingly comfortable too. The neutral cognac color goes well with seriously ANY outfit!

Did everyone have a good weekend?! Mine was a little crazy, I took a quick trip to Fort Lauderdale to speak at a Create & Cultivate conference, and worked pretty much the entire weekend! We had Sunday free and all I wanted to do was go to the beach - but it ended up raining the entire day. I am craving the beach and sunshine (and warm weather) more than ever now!

On another note, I had a lot of emails from y'all over the weekend about a FULL list of my Charleston favorites so I'm working on that post! It sounds like a lot of you guys have trips planned to CHS - you will love it. :)

Casual Weekend Look

I wore this look one day last week to run errands in... I love how large this Sole Society handbag is because I can fit so much in it - it's like a Mary Poppins' handbag! This is my go-to look whenever I don't want to get "dressed up" - booties, jeans, a white tee and scarf. Also if you haven't noticed I am LOVING big hoops right now haha! The bigger the better!

I'm currently writing to you from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I flew in on Friday to film a video and speak at the Create & Cultivate Style Summit yesterday. To be honest I am not a very good public speaker and I was soo nervous, but it went really well and was such a cool experience. If you ever get the chance to attend one of their conferences, they're very inspiring!

My Favorite (Dog-Friendly!) Places in Charleston

Leith off-the-shoulder tee // AG jeans // Celine aviators, similar HERE
Forever 21 earrings, similar HERE // David Yurman ring
Baublebar choker necklace (wearing the choker, not the other one)

Happy Friday, everyone! As you probably know by now, I took a quick road trip to Charleston at the beginning of this week. My family has been visiting Charleston ever since I was little and it's one of my very favorite cities in the world. I was happy to discover this week that it's also very dog friendly - ever since getting Winnie, I want to bring her on all my trips with me (I HATE leaving her at home!!!) but it has been pretty difficult to find cities/hotels that are dog-friendly. I can honestly say that bringing her to Charleston was by far the best experience I've had traveling with her! There are actually a lot of hotels in Charleston that let you bring dogs, and there are plenty of restaurants with outdoor seating that will let you sit on the porch or outdoor patio with your pup at your feet. Traveling is 10000x better when you can bring your best friend with you. ;)

Here's some of our favorite Charleston places that are also dog-friendly:

Belmond Hotel: This is the hotel we stayed at during our trip...I love this hotel for so many reasons!!! The location is perfect - right in the middle of downtown Charleston, located right next to the major shopping and within walking distance of coffee shops, restaurants and the battery (the lobby floor of the hotel has two restaurants, a Gucci store and a Louis Vuitton - heaven!). We got a room with a balcony overlooking King Street - one of the prettiest views to wake up to in the morning. The actual rooms are beautiful too, with comfortable beds and all-marble bathrooms. The main reason we like this hotel is because they allow you to bring dogs (there's no weight limit on the dogs, either) and they bring a bowl and dog biscuits up to the room to greet your pet. The only issue we found is that you're not allowed to leave your dog in the room while you're not there - however, they do provide dog-sitters for $20/hour, you just have to let the concierge know ahead of time.

Eli's Table: My mom and I both agreed that this was the best meal we have EVER had in Charleston. I had the roasted chicken, my mom had shrimp & grits, and we both split a deconstructed key lime pie afterward (perhaps the best dessert I've ever had in my life). They have a gorgeous back patio where they let you eat dinner and bring your dog! The big thing for us was that they had heaters on the patio, because it was chilly at night and would have been way too cold to sit outside without a heater nearby. Other restaurants we called didn't have heaters!

Poogan's Porch: Poogan's Porch has been a favorite of ours for a long time. It's traditional, southern food and sooo good (try the pimento cheese fritters!). Not only do we love their brunch and lunch menu, but you can also bring dogs on the front porch or front patio.

The Rise: The Rise was a coffee shop that we found and loved. Not only did they let us bring Winnie in, but it is GORGEOUS inside with marble countertops, white tile floors and a big window with sun shining in (hello Instagram pics!). We tried the vanilla latte and it was amazing.

Shops on King Street and in Charleston Place: There are tons of boutiques and little shops along King Street and in Charleton Place (where the Belmond Hotel is located), and all of them are dog-friendly unless stated otherwise. We window shopped and even tried on clothes in a dressing room and Winnie was allowed back with us!

If you want a FULL list of my favorite places in Charleston (not necessarily dog-friendly), let me know and I can work on one!

My Favorite Sleepwear

satin sleep mask, also love this pajama & sleep mask combo

These pajamas describe my thoughts perfectly: let's stay in bed! One of my favorite things to do when I'm staying in a hotel is sleep in and order room service or coffee to the room. I slowly take my time getting ready and enjoying the morning. This particular morning in Charleston was gorgeous, so my mom and I drank our coffee on the balcony. I wore the cutest Kate Spade pajama set and the SOFTEST ROBE YOU'LL EVER PUT ON, both from Nordstrom! (Yes, I bring this robe with me everywhere. It's as soft as a cloud.) I always replace heavy winter pajamas with lighter fabrics and colors in the spring, and Nordstrom has the cutest selection of pajamas, robes and lingerie right now! I'm linking a bunch of items I love in the widget below....

Stay tuned for tomorrow's post. I'm sharing some of my favorite spots in Charleston (dog-friendly, too!). xoxo

Neutrals in Charleston

Brandy Melville sweater, similar HERE & HERE // similar hat
MAC lipstick in "pink nouveau"

We arrived in Charleston on Monday night and I couldn't be more excited to be here! The weather was beautiful yesterday... high 60s and sunny. I threw on a pair of sandals and my comfiest sweater for walking around the city (we always end up walking a TON). By the way, these sandals are a great dupe for the ones I have on! If you want the Valentino version, I went with my regular size and they are incredibly comfortable.

We brought Winnie (my puppy!) with us on this trip and she has been loving all the sights and new smells. It's been so fun having her on this trip!! (Hopefully she'll get to travel with me a lot more because I cry every time I leave her at home.) BTW, I'm working on a blog post on all the dog-friendly places in Charleston. We were pleasantly surprised to find that there are quite a few restaurants and stores that allow dogs - even our hotel is dog-friendly, it is also BEAUTIFUL and our room has a balcony overlooking King Street! That blog post will be up on Friday :)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
xoxo

What I've Ordered for Spring

Since you guys already know I'm having a bit of "spring fever," I thought it would be appropriate to share some of my recent buys with you. I'm so excited about each and every one of these - it makes me even more excited for spring weather!

one // ribbed sweater
This ribbed sweater comes in my favorite neutral tan color... and is ONLY $12!!! I'll let you guys know how the quality is, but I have high hopes.

two // Tory Burch sandals
I own these sandals in the "sand patent" color and have been SO impressed with the quality... this is my third summer wearing the same pair and they seriously still look brand new. I just ordered them in the "makeup" color and I'm tempted to order in jewel blue as well!

I've been obsessed with turquoise for pretty much every summer since I can remember. This statement necklace is the perfect addition to any jewelry collection... it will look amazing with sunkissed skin!

This pom pom clutch is perfect for a tropical getaway or even a date night with a black tee and jeans. I love the fun pom poms - they really dress it up.

five // cold shoulder romper
I ordered this romper to serve as a cover-up in the spring. I love love love the tassels on the front and the cold shoulder cut-outs.

I actually ordered these last fall and they're back in stock for the spring/summertime - and I'm pumped! They fit true-to-size and are absolutely stunning on. Plus the color goes with every outfit!

seven // pom pom earrings
Okay - you gotta admit these earrings are freakin' adorable. I love the hot pink color and the pom poms... they would look fabulous paired with a plain white blouse. And for less than $25, that's a no-brainer.

Spring Fever...

Givenchy handbag, really good dupe HERE // Celine sunglasses, similar HERE
MAC lipstick in "pink nouveau"

I've caught it y'all... spring fever! We've had terrible weather here for the past couple of weeks, but ONE day last week it was absolutely beautiful, sunny and 70 degrees. I threw on this tie-front fleece shirt and a baseball cap to pick up some fresh flowers from the grocery store and meet up with a friend for lunch. This fleece top is my new favorite - it comes in three colors and is SO comfortable. You could wear it as a workout top but I love it just for running errands in! I'm wearing the size XS. You don't have to wear it off-the-shoulder like I have it in these pictures... I just love anything off-shoulder as you probably already know :) Oh and this baseball cap is the bomb.

Did you guys have a good weekend? My friend Melissa came into town Friday and we had a girls day and night! On Saturday Chris and I went to an arcade and had a huge competition to see who could win the most games (he won) and then went to church yesterday and out to lunch. It was a great weekend!

xoxo
