The 10 Best Christmas Movies on Netflix

Happy ALMOST weekend, guys! I asked the other day if you wanted to see a list of my favorite Christmas movies on Netflix and a bunch of you said yes! I have purposely been watching as many Christmas movies as possible so that I could find the best ones and recommend them to you guys. Here are my top 10, starting with my absolute favorites at the top!

1. A Christmas Prince
I’m pretty sure this one is new to Netflix this year – and it’s SO good! My mom has watched it too and agrees. The movie is about a reporter who’s writing a story about a prince in another country – a prince who is supposedly a partier and a playboy. When she arrives in his country, she ends up being mistaken as the American tutor for the prince’s little sister, and begins to live in the castle with the prince and the royal family. She starts to fall in love with the prince… but will her true identity ruin everything?

2. Spirit of Christmas
This one is also one of my favorites!!! I cried in this one 🙂 Also – the plot may sound a little crazy, but it totally works when you watch the movie. Kate, a workaholic lawyer, has three weeks to get a haunted bed and breakfast appraised and sold. The manager claims a spirit who lives there will not approve. Kate meets the spirit – a very handsome man – and ends up falling in love with him throughout the movie.

3. A Christmas Kiss
This is one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time! I discovered it two years ago and probably watch it five or six times throughout each holiday season. Wendy, the main character, is an aspiring designer with a horrible, demanding boss (Priscilla). When Wendy kisses a mysterious, handsome man in the elevator, she soon realizes that it’s Priscilla’s boyfriend, Adam. Things get complicated quickly… especially because the chemistry between Wendy and Adam is SO strong, it really sells the movie. I can’t even express in words how much I love this movie – it’s pretty much the perfect Christmas chick flick!

4. A Christmas Kiss 2
This one is the sequel to “A Christmas Kiss” and – you guessed it – also involves a kiss in an elevator.I definitely enjoyed the original “A Christmas Kiss” more, but this one is still worth a watch – it’s really cute!! Jenna is a hardworking assistant at a fashion magazine, and after a photo shoot she kisses a mysterious, handsome man in the elevator. She soon learns that the “mysterious man” is her boss’s brother, who also has a reputation of being a playboy and dating multiple women at once. However,  the more time Jenna spends with him, she can’t help but like him.

5. Back to Christmas
The actress in this movie is GORGEOUS – she made it really fun to watch! The main character Ali travels back one year in time to try to fix her broken engagement – and realizes that he may not have been the right one for her after all. You get a little scared that the ending might not work out how you want it to, but then I ended up absolutely LOVING the ending of this one – it’s magical!!

6. Merry Kissmas
The main character, Kayla, is engaged to marry a self-centered film and stage director/choreographer, and you can tell right from the beginning that their relationship is crumbling. When Kate accidentally kisses a man in an elevator (what it is with these elevators!!! lol) she ends up falling for him, and him for her. Some of the acting in this one is a little iffy, but overall it’s a great story 🙂

7. 12 Dates of Christmas
This one has a very classic storyline for a Christmas movie – the main character, Kate, relives Christmas Eve over and over again until she gets it right. In an attempt to win back her ex-boyfriend on Christmas Eve, Kate ends up ruining her blind date with Miles, a handsome guy she’s been set up with. In a strange twist of fate, Kate has the chance to re-live the same day twelve times. I loved this movie because the chemistry between Kate and Miles was really strong and I kept waiting for her to realize it! Also, Miles is really cute so I liked it for that reason too (haha!).

8. Christmas Belle
This one has Hayley Duff in it – I thought of “Lizzie McGuire” the whole time because her resemble is so strong to Hilary Duff, haha! I was surprised to see that Hayley is actually a great actress. The plot of the movie goes like this: With her California hometown in her rear-view mirror, Belle (Hayley) heads north on business to facilitate the estate sale of a mansion. While the job is a dream, the client, Hunter Lowell, is not. But, as the two spend more time together, his icy demeanor begins to melt. Although their relationship is budding, Belle’s long-time suitor, Tony, arrives and creates a mess out of things.

9. The Christmas Card
This movie doesn’t have the best acting in the world (okay, the acting is pretty terrible), but for some reason I LOVED this one. A U.S. soldier receives a Christmas card while he is on duty, and he eventually visits the town that he received the card from, and falls in love with the woman who sent it. Like any good Christmas movie, there are some obstacles that prevent them from being together. The plot line pulls you in immediately… like I said, I really love this one.

10. Miracle on 34th Street
This movie is SUCH a classic and I’m so happy Netflix has it! This one is the 1994 remake (which I think is better than the original) and follows the same storyline. Santa Claus must prove that he is the real Kris Kringle, at first to a disbelieving little girl and then to the whole world, when he is put on trial. If you haven’t seen it, give it a chance. This is a heartwarming Christmas classic for the entire family.

It’s embarrassing to admit, but I think I cried in every single one of these, haha! There’s something about Christmas movies that really warms my heart. Leave a comment if there are any other Christmas movies on Netflix you think we should watch!

xoxo

  20. Yes to The Christmas Prince!!! The other night we were looking for good Christmas movies to watch and I remembered your post from last year and we picked one of them (can't remember which) but our internet was being weird and buffering so we just decided to try a different one and I thought The Christmas Prince looked so cute even though it wasn't on your list. So when I saw the title of this post I was like "I have to comment and tell her to watch The Christmas Prince!" and then lo and behold it's at the top of your list hahaha. It was so cute and the scene at the end at the coronation was so good!!!

  23. Hi! Can you give us more information about your tv set-up? Where is your streaming device, for example? Thanks!

    12.7.17Reply
    • Hey Alicia,

The streaming device is hidden behind the TV (there's a little hiding spot in the wall but you can't see it when the TV is in front). We use a Roku and have it hooked up to our wifi to access Netflix!
