#NSale Opens to the Public + HUGE LIFE UPDATE!

Sooooo today is the day we’ve all been waiting for… the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally live to the public! I hope you have your shopping lists ready, because things will go fast!! If something you want is sold out, keep checking because Nordstrom will be restocking most items this morning (especially the popular items like the B.P. cardigans and booties!). If you missed it, I did a full mirror try-on and review blog post HERE. There were so many good items in the sale this year, with really steep discounts! Today I’m rounding up some more of my sale outfits from the past week. Scroll down to find the giveaway winners AND for some life updates 🙂
First up, this Leith easy circle cardigan in both the pink and beige colors. This is one of the softest and most comfortable cardigans I own. I wear it in a size XS.

boyfriend denim shorts (not on sale)
This floral bell sleeve romper is also available in all sizes and is marked down to $35. I’m wearing a size XS!
Valentino sandals (not on sale) // YSL lipstick in “beige tribute” (not on sale)
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale also has TONS of cute workout gear this year! I snagged this cropped sweatshirt and a new pair of Zella high-waisted leggings. I love these for both my pure barre workouts and for running errands around town.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale workout wear
This side slit tee is (in my opinion) one of the best items in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They’re marked down to $15.90 and SUCH high quality (much thicker than last year’s version). It comes in several colors. I’m wearing a size XS.

white pants (not on sale) // monogram necklace (not on sale)
These Kate Spade tassel sneakers – I just die every time I see them! They’re the perfect casual sneaker that you can wear to lunch with your girlfriends, to class or even on a casual date night. I sized down half a size for a perfect fit.
Kate Spade Lenna Tassel sneakers
This Topshop lattice back sweater is another favorite purchase – if you want to see the front, I reviewed it in this blog post. It is made of a really soft material and feels so comfortable on! (Side note – you don’t have to wear it off-the-shoulder like I’m doing here.) I’m wearing the size US 2.

boyfriend denim shorts (not on sale)
Tory Burch has some AMAZING items in the sale this year – including this handbag and these sandals  which remind me of the Miller sandals and are just as cute. My handbag is in the color “light oak” and my sandals are in the color “makeup.” Both look like a very soft pink in person.
Tory Burch, Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
Not everything from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is geared towards fall – you can start wearing this satin cold shoulder top right now, and it’s marked down to less than $30. I’m wearing a size XS.
This polka dot blouse stole my heart right away – especially for only $31.90! It’s a great top for work, I can envision it with black pants or a pencil skirt. Wearing size XS.
boyfriend denim shorts (not on sale) // monogram necklace (not on sale)
These B.P. lightweight rib stitch cardigans are guaranteed to sell out – again. Every single color sold out during the Early Access Sale! I bought it in this grey color, as well as beige, green and burgundy. It’s incredibly comfortable and can be worn so many different ways, with so many different outfits. It does run a little bit big – I sized down to an XXS in this.
BP lightweight rib stitch cardigan, Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
white shorts (not on sale)
This comfy blanket is usually super expensive (it is REALLY thick and high quality), but is marked down $60 during the sale. It’s a good time to snag one for the upcoming fall and winter months!
I’m wearing a size 2 in this ruffle sleeve cardigan. It also comes in black!
Topshop layered ruffle sleeve cardigan, Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
white pants (not on sale) // white tank (not on sale) // monogram necklace (not on sale)
These Rebecca Minkoff crossbody handbags are the perfect fall handbags and are also included in the sale! They’re the perfect size to fit my iPhone 7 Plus, my car keys and a few makeup items.

Fingers crossed that these Moonlight pajamas are re-stocked! I love the pink color and they are soooooo soft! Wearing an XS.
Moonlight pajamas // bedding from Homegoods, pillows from Target
These Marc Jacobs sunglasses are the perfect tortoise sunglasses, and are marked down almost $60.
Another favorite cardigan of mine: this B.P. rib knit cardigan. I love the texture of it, and the fabric is really soft in person. It looks cute paired with a fall scarf! Wearing an XS.

B.P. lace camisole // B.P. rib knit cardigan // Steve Madden sandals
Levi’s jeans (not on sale)
Me and my momma! (She did an entire blog post on her picks from the Nordstrom Sale, if you missed it!) Her ruffle sleeve T-Shirt dress will probably be re-stocked in several colors. This one will be quick to sell out again!
Okay, now for some life updates! I realized the other day that I have done a terrible job of keeping you guys updated with the wedding stuff! Chris and I did book our venue, and the big day will be June 2, 2018 in Charleston, S.C.! Right away we knew that we wanted to have our wedding in Charleston… Chris and I have been going on vacations there ever since we started dating back in 2012. It holds a very special place in our hearts, plus it’s just so darn BEAUTIFUL that we couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. The venue that we picked out is everything this southern gal has ever dreamed of – a cute little Charleston house with a wraparound porch. I can’t wait to show you! 🙂
As far as planning goes, we’ve booked the florist and the band, and are in the process of booking the caterer. Yesterday, I put together some little gift boxes for my bridesmaids (to ask “Will you be my bridesmaid?”) and I think they turned out really well! I plan on sharing those with you next week, once all the girls have received their boxes in the mail. As far as the wedding dress goes, I haven’t made any progress on that yet. To be honest, I don’t even know what style of dress I want…. yikes! If you guys have any advice for trying on dresses, I would love it!
On another note, something ELSE really exciting has happened recently that I’ve been bursting to tell you guys… Chris and I bought a house!!!!
ruffle hem maxi skirt  // Showpo white top (sold out)
That’s me in front of our new front door, lol! 🙂
I don’t even know where to begin to tell you guys the story behind this! It’s SO funny how God works, because growing up, I never in a million years thought that I would end up in Winston Salem, N.C. To be honest, when I initially decided to move here a little more than a year ago, I bawled my eyes out. I knew that it was the right decision for me and Chris, and while I was so excited to finally live in the same city as him, I truly loved Charlotte. I loved my friends, my apartment, the shopping, restaurants, nightlife, etc. I just KNEW I was going to hate Winston. I knew it! But I was wrong. I had a terrible experience moving out of my apartment in Charlotte, and when we got to Winston that day with all of our moving boxes, something sort-of clicked… I immediately felt at peace, like I was finally home. Winston is definitely a small town, but it is charming. People here are so friendly, they ask how your day is and they genuinely want to know. It’s such a small town that I take Winnie for a walk and run into five people I know, and spend an hour catching up with each one. I’ve come to love my little grocery store, my cozy apartment, the people in my apartment building, the Pure Barre instructors, the postman, the taco place down the street. Not only that, but moving here was the first time that Chris and I had lived in the same city in several years. I was worried that we would feel isolated from our family and friends, living far away from them, but instead, it’s forced us to be adventurous and make new memories in OUR new city. We began to realize how this sleepy little town is actually full of life… and we began to consider it our home. After we got engaged, we knew my lease was going to be up soon and it was time to look for a true home – a house – where we could put down our roots. After a LOT of searching, we found a house that we both loved. I’ll be moving in in about a month (get ready for some interior decorating posts!) and Chris will finish out his lease at his apartment and move in once we’re married. After living in small apartments for the past ten years, we can’t wait to finally have a driveway and a backyard for Winnie to run around in. We are both over the moon excited, even the smallest things like having an extra guest bedroom for our family and friends to stay in, feels like a huge blessing.
The point of all this is to let you guys know how much we appreciate you, and how excited we are to share this next chapter of our lives with you. Many of you have been here for me since the beginning, through the good and bad times, and it brings tears to my eyes to think of how supportive you’ve been throughout the years. I’ve said this in the past, but I consider you guys to be my real-life friends and a very valuable part of my life.
Anyway, on to the fun part. SORRY for making y’all wait so long to find out the giveaway winners, haha!!

  11. Big congratulations on your new home! Getting our first home was so excited and I love having a garden for our dog and cats to run around in, and we love spending time sitting out there in the summer.

I thought it would take me ages to find my perfect wedding dress, but funnily enough, the first dress I tried on was perfect! My Mum spotted it and I think she knew straight away that it would be the one. Have fun trying them on! It's such a fun experience x

  18. Congratulations on the house! So exciting! As far as a dress goes, try a ton in and you will just know! Would you recommend the Tory burch miller sandals or the sale style as a first pair? I can't decide. 🙂

    7.21.17Reply
    • Hey Christina! The Sale sandals are equally as comfortable and as high quality as the Tory Burch Miller sandals, so it really depends on your style preference! I personally love both! The only difference really is that my Miller sandals are patent leather, so I don't have to worry about them getting wet and can wear them to the pool or beach. Hope that helps 🙂

  25. Congrats on the house! My main recommendation for wedding dresses is to go in with an open mind. I went to the bridal salon with a very specific idea of what I wanted (lace, form fitting, no sparkles, and cap sleeves). After trying on several in that style and not loving them, the lady helping me asked if I'd try on anything she picked for me. I said sure and she brought back a big satin strapless ball gown with a beaded belt (the complete opposite of what I thought I wanted). I tried on the dress just for fun and was shocked that I LOVED it. That became my dress. Trust the people who work at the bridal salon; they can help identify a gown style that best flatters your size and shape. To this day, my unexpected ball gown wedding dress is still my favorite thing I've ever worn. Good luck with the search. Just enjoy the process of planning this special day 🙂

  31. Congrats on wedding progress and the new house! How exciting! 🙂 As far as wedding dress shopping, don't stress over it. I got married almost two years ago, and had NO CLUE what type of dress I wanted. During my bridal appointment, it became clear as I started sorting through dresses and seeing them up close what details I liked or didn't like. But honestly, unless you can see right away that you don't like a dress, try on anything the shop attendant suggests for you. Once you try on a couple dresses, you can tell pretty quickly what type of silhouette you want, then narrow it down to your dress from there. Good luck on the dress search, and best wishes! xx

  44. I went to two shops while dress shopping. The first was a store in the Bay Area 'burbs where my sister and I basically did the picking and trying ourselves. The second though, was an appointment-only tiny boutique located in a high-end neighborhood in San Francisco where they close the whole shop for your try-on session. The specialist helping me asked me a few questions and what styles I'd been looking at. She brought me the style I mentioned and while trying that on, brought another that she thought would look great on me. Needless to say, that style she recommended was the.one. and totally different than what I had in mind. So my advice is to find a highly rated shop and be open-minded to what your stylist may suggest. Good luck!!

    7.21.17Reply
  45. Congratulations on your house purchase! So happy for you two! I hope this continues to be a time a celebration and planning, with minimal stress. My suggestion for the dress is to try on all the styles! Also, check out tradesy.com. I fell in love with a dress on the site and then found it in person to try on and verify sizing and everything. Then I drove home and clicked "purchase"! It was great because I could shop dresses normally found at a much higher price point but still get a great deal. Also, I later sold my dress for more than I bought it for… but of course, there's nothing wrong with keeping it too!!

  49. SO exciting on your news!!! My fiance and I are in the same position-bought a house, I am living there and waiting for him to finish out his lease/get married for him to move in. I am attempting to decorate (why is it SO hard!?) so I'll be looking forward to your home decor posts!
As far as wedding dress shopping-go in with an open mind (which should be easy since you dont know what you want). You can show the stylists pictures of all the dresses you think you want that youve found on pintrest/magazines and you'll put them on and realize its not for you. Try all the different styles and take your time! I think I tried on every wedding dress that exists and I am so glad I did, bc 1. I FINALLY found the one, and 2. trying on dresses is a BLAST and now I'm sad its over
    Congrats!

  51. CONGRATS – So excited to see you're putting roots in Winston – I grew up there and LOVE coming home and seeing how it's growing (the Porch is by far my favorite addition – have to go there every time I'm visiting!!!). Excited to see all of the home posts to come! As for dress shopping – if you're coming back to CLT, definitely see the ladies at J. Major's – they are incredible to work with and are full service bridal salon – CJ did all of my alterations and I could not have asked for a better, more personal experience. I've heard wonderful things from my friends about Hayden Olivia as well! As for finding "THE dress" itself – go in with an open mind! I went in ready to purchase my dress after weeks of deliberation and walked out with a completely different dress/style/everything! This is such an exciting (and stressful!!) time, but enjoy it!

  62. Beautiful as always ❤ My wedding dress shopping advice would be to try several in all the different silhouettes, and then narrow down from there. I've seen brides be surprised countless times that what they love (and what looks best on them) was NOT what they had in mind. You'll probably narrow down your favorite shape(s) quickly. Have fun!!

  63. When you try on dresses go in with an open mind. I just knew in my heart I didn't want a halter dress, and ended up with exactly that because I let my sister talk me into trying one on "just for fun."

I know it's not too common any longer and certainly less convenient. It is an encouragement to see you two making this sacrifice. My husband and I lived literally next door to each other (I rented from his parents lol) for years. But there was something so special about saving so much, including living together, for marriage.
