The Perfect July 4th Party Dress

Parker Brooklyn dress, also love THIS ONE // hoop earrings // Chanel handbag, similar HERE

Okay... I saw this Parker dress and IMMEDIATELY I wished I had a fun July 4th party to attend so that I could wear it! I love all the ruffles, and the tie around the waist makes it very figure-flattering. I love pretty much any holiday because it's an excuse to dress up, haha! But in addition to July 4th, it's also a great dress if you have any weddings to attend this summer. I'm linking up some other blue and white dresses below if you need some more ideas :)

Chris and I are headed to Charlotte tomorrow... our good friends are throwing us an engagement party and we're so excited!! The theme is "Tacos & Tequila" and they're having a taco bar, margaritas and churro cupcakes (OMG). The only thing is I can't figure out what to wear!! Are you supposed to wear white at an engagement party? I clearly know nothing about wedding stuff. LOL!

Any advice is appreciated :)

White Maxi Romper in Charleston

white maxi romper (only $55) // Valentino sandals // Louis Vuitton clutch, buy pre-owned HERE

I am OBSESSED with this white maxi romper I wore in Charleston a few days ago! For only $55, the quality is amazing (and it runs TTS - I'm wearing an XS!) and it is so so so elegant and pretty on. It's perfect for a date night, for a July 4th party, or even to wear to a bridal event (that's where I wore it!).  The event was actually held at our wedding venue, so I got to see the venue all decorated - it made me beyond excited! I can't wait to share some wedding posts with you soon. :)

I hope everyone is having a good week!! This week has felt crazy busy, so I'm excited to make it to the weekend and hopefully relax!

4th Of July Recipe Ideas (Hawaiian Kabobs + Fruit Flag Pizza!)

Happy Wednesday, everyone! With the Fourth of July just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite recipes (they're kid-friendly, too!). Whether your having a cookout or a cozy night at home, these recipes are tried-and-true favorites of mine and are sure to please.

First up, these Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs are amazing and easy to make! The pineapple adds so much flavor, and the chicken is tender and delicious thanks to the simple marinade. Chris and I love these and think they're perfect for a summer night!

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 1/3 cup soy sauce (I use low-sodium)
- 1/4 cup canned pineapple juice
- 4 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 1/2 Tbsp rice vinegar
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 Tbsp minced ginger
- 1/2 tsp sesame oil
- Salt and pepper
- 1 3/4 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast, chopped into cubes
- 3 cups fresh cubed pineapple
- 1 1/2 large green peppers, diced into cubes
- 1 large red onion, diced into cubes

Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil and 2 Tbsp olive oil. Stir in 3/4 tsp pepper and season with salt if desired.
2. Place chicken in a gallon sized resealable bag. Store 1/2 cup of the marinade in the fridge, then pour remaining marinade over chicken. Seal bag and refrigerate 1-2 hours.
3. Preheat a grill to 400 degrees.
4. Drizzle remaining 2 Tbsp olive oil over the red onion, bell pepper and pineapple, and toss. Thread red onion, bell pepper, pineapple and chicken onto skewers until all of the chicken has been used.
5. Brush grill grates with olive oil then place skewers on the grill. Grill for 5 minutes, then brush the skewers with 1/4 cup of the remaining marinate. Rotate to opposite side and brush the other 1/4 cup of marinade on the opposite side and allow to grill about 4 minutes longer.
6. Serve warm and enjoy!

This is a recipe that I made back in 2012, and I still make it every year for the Fourth! It's incredibly easy and a healthier alternative to so many desserts (since the base is made of Greek yogurt!).

American Flag Fruit Pizza
Ingredients:
- 1 can Pillsbury Crescent seamless dough
- 1 1/2 cups of Greek yogurt (coconut flavor if you can find it! Otherwise, vanilla is good)
- Strawberries, blueberries and banana

Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
2. Lay out the Pillsbury dough on a greased baking sheet. Shape into a rectangle and press down on the corners, then bake 15 to 20 minutes until it's golden brown.
3. Let the crust cool for a few minutes until it's room temperature.
4. Spread the Greek yogurt over the crust, right to the edges.
5. Using the blueberries, make a border around the crust, then fill in the top left quadrant to make the "stars" of the flag.
5. Make layers of thinly sliced strawberries and bananas for the stripes.

If you have any favorite July 4th recipe ideas, let us all know in the comments! :)

Floral Print Maxi Dress

Dee Elly floral maxi dress (less than $60) // Chanel handbag, similar HERE
Carrson sandals, similar here // David Yurman bracelets here & here
MAC lipstick in "impassioned"

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I wore this floral maxi dress at the beach a few weeks ago - I love wearing maxi dresses in general because of how comfortable they are, but especially if you're feeling slightly sunburned (like I was that day!). I love the floral print on this one - it's less than $60 and I'm wearing the XS. Also, if you ever come to Ocean Isle Beach, you HAVE to visit Captain John's Seafood House. My mom and dad have been going there practically their whole lives, and they started taking me and my brother when we were babies. Their food is amazing (I don't eat seafood but my parents think it's the best seafood of all time!) and they have the cutest little dock out back where you can sit and watch the boats after dinner.

Tomorrow I'm sharing some really fun recipes for July 4th so stay tuned! :)

Palm Print Skort

palm print skort , matching crop top here // white tank // straw hat
Carrson sandals, similar here // Chanel handbag, similar but more affordable HERE
pearl necklace // David Yurman bracelets here & here

Happy Monday, everyone! I wore this cute little palm print skort a few weeks ago & am absolutely obsessed. I love love love the print! It looks cute with a white tank, but would also be cute with a black tank or even a casual tee. It also comes in an off-the-shoulder top which is equally as cute. Also I have been wearing the pearl necklace from this choker set nonstop. It goes with EVERYTHING!

Did everyone have a good weekend? Mine was good (very relaxing!) - Chris and I spent most of it by the pool! Last night my mom and I drove down to Charleston - we're here so that I can show my mom the wedding venue (she hasn't seen it yet) so I'm really excited to show her.

Easy July 4th Outfit Idea

Chanel flats, similar HERE // reflective sunglasses (only $12!)
similar monogram necklace // Michele watch // MAC lipstick in "impassioned"

July 4th is such a great holiday - usually involving the pool, sunshine, good food, fireworks and your closest family and friends. My style tip for July 4th is always to incorporate a pop of red into your outfit: either with shoes or handbag, and always a red lip! My favorite red lipstick of all time is MAC lipstick in "impassioned" because it's more of a poppy color (rather than a true red), and looks SO GOOD with a tan. You've probably seen me wear it a lot over the past couple of years! This Caslon striped top is a Nordstrom-only brand and is also a great option for July 4th: I love the stripes, how comfortable it is, and the big, bold sleeves! It's only $52 and comes in both petite and regular sizing (I'm wearing the XS in regular sizing).

Happy Friday, everyone!!!!

Backless Maxi Dress in Rome

Brixton straw hat // Michele watch // David Yurman bracelets here & here

Good morning and happy Thursday (one more day till the weekend - woop woop!). Now that I've shared my travel guides for Positano, Ravello and Capri, I only have a couple of outfits left to share from our trip to Italy! I wore this backless maxi dress on our first day in Rome, and I'm absolutely head-over-heels in love with it. The low back, high slit and floral poppy pattern all add to the allure, without revealing too much skin. It was the perfect easy, breezy dress to wear for walking around Rome all day sightseeing! (It also comes in a short dress version and two piece version if you're not a fan of maxi dresses.)

On another note, I LOVED Rome. It's like a way cooler and prettier version of NYC, but filled with history and beautiful, crumbling statues everywhere you look. These photos were taken in Piazza Navona, the remains of what was once a stadium called Circus Domitianus, built in 85 A.D. We got pizza at a nearby pizza restaurant and sat for an hour, just taking everything in.
