Black Lace Romper

Topshop black lace romper, dress version here // tassel straw bag (sold out), similar here
Tory Burch wedges (back in stock from last year!)

I love, love, love a good black dress or romper during the spring and summertime. Not only does it look good with a tan, but your accessories always pop! This black romper is perfect for a girls night out, date night, or even as a bathing suit cover up. Size up, I'm wearing a size 4 and usually wear an XS! :) I also want to point out that these Tory Burch wedges are from last year... apparently, they were so popular that Tory brought them back again this year! I am SO happy because they are seriously my favorite wedges of all time. They're so comfortable and they go with ANY outfit. You will love them!

Sorry this post is going up late today - I had to take Prince George to the vet this morning for his annual check-up! He is losing his winter coat and has been getting so many mats in his fur... I had him shaved a little bit too. He looks hilarious!

Blue & White

blue and white bell sleeve top (less than $50) // Current Elliott jeans
Chloe espadrille wedges, similar & less expensive here // Chloe Drew bag, similar here
Michael Kors watch // David Yurman turquoise bracelet, link bracelet
round sunglasses // similar turquoise ring
YSL "tropical pink" lipstick mixed with Lancome "drive to pink"

I know what you're probably think *Gee Caitlin can you please wear something other than bell sleeve tops!?* The answer, for right now at least, is nope! Haha. I found this blue and white bell sleeve top in store a few days ago and I think it's one of the prettiest tops I've ever seen! I love the blue and white pattern - reminds me of fine china. As far as sizing goes, I'm wearing the XS (I didn't try it on beforehand, but I think a small would have been a little better). I wore this outfit for errands in the morning and then put it back on to get Mexican food last night! It was Taco Tuesday... I had to. In the spring and summer, I crave Mexican food constantly. It is becoming a serious problem - I want queso and chips all the time! What kinds of food do you crave in the spring?! (Give me some healthy ideas if you have 'em, haha!)

Top Seven Trends for Spring...

One: Off Shoulder Tops & Dresses
If you've followed my blog for a while, you probably know that I've been obsessed with off-the-shoulder looks for a few years now. And I'm happy to report that this trend is sticking around for the long run - off-shoulder tops are hotter than ever for spring & summer 2016! This year it's all about making a statement, with ruffle sleeves, stripes, or an all-white look. Many of you have asked what kind of bra I wear with these tops - I love this one and it actually works really well (and lasts for several months).

Two: Straw Hats
I loveeee straw hats in the summer. Whether it's an oversized sun hat for the beach or a straw panama hat for grabbing lunch with your girlfriends, it's the perfect way to complete an outfit. Even if you aren't a "hat person" per say, I encourage you to try them! Even a T-shirt and jeans can look chic with a straw hat. I just ordered this one - it's less than $30 and adorable for spring.

Three: Round Sunglasses
This spring, round sunglasses are ALL the rage. Every major designer has come out with a pair (or several pairs!) of round frames. They instantly make you feel like a movie star when you wear them - or like a Charlie's Angel (lol!). I am dying for this pair, but I want to try them on before I make the plunge!

Four: Platform Espadrilles Wedges
Platform espadrilles will be around all spring and summer, so get used to them! You can't go wrong with a neutral pair like the ones below - they are actually incredibly versatile and look amazing with jeans and denim shorts. This pair is a really, really good deal - they look identical to this designer pair but are almost $500 less! Something you won't see much of this summer are stilettos... a narrow heel has been replaced with a chunkier one this year.

Five: Bell Sleeves
If you caught my last two blog posts, you probably picked up on a theme - bell sleeves! I LOVE the look of 70s-inspired bell sleeves tops and dresses. (In fact, I picked up this shirt with bell sleeves just yesterday.) Pair them with high-waisted shorts, jean shorts, or go for a printed dress or romper - designers are coming out with all different variations on this trend. I am obsessed with how comfortable they are, too.

Six: Denim Shorts & Skirts
I'm a sucker for a good pair of denim shorts, but this year skirts are in too (remember your middle school days?). Rips, frayed hems and embroidered hearts or stars are all things to look out for when you pick up your next pair. I own this pair and they are WAY cuter in person than they look online. Promise!

Seven: High Neck Bikinis
This is perhaps my favorite trend of all, high neck swimsuits! They are very classy while also being sexy at the same time. I love ones that have mesh inlays (like I'm wearing above). Crochet is also a very popular style this season - I am obsessed with this crochet swimsuit that's online now.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post - sometimes it's fun to switch it up and do different kinds of posts! There are also a bunch of other spring/summer 2016 trends that I didn't include in this roundup... like statement earrings, tassel handbags and lace-up sandals. I'd love to hear what your favorite trend is!

Bell Sleeve Top + Printed Shorts

Sun & Shadow bell sleeve top (NOW ONLINE!) // woven print shorts (wearing XS)
lace-up heels // Karen Walker sunglasses // similar tassel earrings
Chloe Drew bag, similar less expensive version here
David Yurman crossover ring // MAC lipstick in "pink nouveau"

Happy Monday, friends! I wore this outfit last week and am freakin' obsessed with it! I love this bell sleeve top and especially the lace detailing on the sleeves. The shorts and top really complete each other, although I do think these printed shorts would be equally as cute with a black or white tee. For reference I'm wearing an XS in the shorts but could probably have sized up to a small.

How was everyone's weekend?!

My boyfriend loved ziplining on Saturday - if you live in North Carolina, we went to Carolina Ziplines Canopy Tour. It definitely wasn't your typical "date" but it was so so fun and I loved that it was something different that we could experience together. I highly recommend! :)

Charleston Fashion Week with Belk

Lilly Pulitzer dress, found at Belk // more white dresses here

Last week I headed to Charleston Fashion Week to partner with Belk! Lilly Pulitzer and Belk sponsored one night of CHSFW and it was a blast - especially seeing an entire room of girls dressed up in their Lilly dresses. The dress I'm wearing is from the Lilly Pulitzer spring collection (which Belk sells, did ya know?) and would be perfect for Easter or for any future brides (I'm thinking a bridal shower or engagement party dress).

To recap my night at CHSFW, let's start with the Belk tent - we got there before anyone else, and this is what it looked like (below). White couches, Lilly Pulitzer pillows, and two dueling DJ's (that you can't see) that were both decked out in Lilly as well. Within a few minutes of taking this photo, the entire room was packed with girls who came for the Belk fashion show.

Around 7:30 we headed to our seats in the big tent. The show started out with two emerging designers, then it was time for Belk! They began with a bunch of all-white runway looks (which I LOVED because I love all-white outfits) and then switched into looks with lots of print and pattern mixing for spring and summer. The big finale was with Lilly Pulitzer! My favorite look was a beach look - they wrapped a Lilly Pulitzer tassel scarf around like a sarong and paired it with two huge pink tassel necklaces.

If you ever have the opportunity to make it to Charleston Fashion Week, you absolutely must go! Charleston is one of the most magical cities on earth. Thank you so much to Belk for letting me have the opportunity to go!

Oh and happy Easter Everyone :) xoxo

*Thanks to Belk for sponsoring this post

Bell Sleeve Obsessed

bell sleeve lace tunic, also love the dress version // Hudson jeans
Steve Madden sandals, on sale in leather here // Chloe Drew handbag
Celine sunglasses, similar here // YSL lipstick in "fuschia pink"

Happy Friday! If there's one item of clothing I've been gravitating to lately, it's anything with bell sleeves. I am obsessed with this retro look! The top I'm wearing above is gorgeous because of the lace detailing, and I love how long it is. A warning that it is a little bit sheer (you can totally get away with just wearing a bra, but I am wearing this tank underneath). As far as sizing goes, go with your regular size - I'm wearing XS!

I'm so looking forward to this weekend - I plan on unplugging and putting my phone and computer away for a much needed break. Sometimes I have to remind myself that life does exist apart from social media - haha! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
