Friday Favorites – New Puppy, Makeup, Etc!

teacup goldendoodle!
Happy Friday, everyone!! I’m back with another round of “Friday Favorites.” These are some of my favorite posts to do because I get to share with you some personal things as well as products I’ve been loving, and they’re a little less formal than my usual posts. So let’s get started!
First up, I think you can guess my first “favorite” haha…. my new pup, Winnie! Please forgive me if my blog has been a little bit of puppy overload lately, I’ve been so excited that I can’t help myself. I have wanted a dog for a really long time and Chris and I agreed we would get one when we finally lived in the same city together (we were long distance for a couple of years). It was honestly the best decision we’ve ever made. Since I work from home a good part of the day, I often feel really lonely and I also deal with a lot of work-related anxiety. Winnie has been SO MUCH comfort during the day, it’s like having a little baby around that constantly wants to cuddle. She is so well-behaved and has brought so much light to my life, even though I’ve had her less than a week. Not to mention, it is SO CUTE to see Chris as a puppy dad! He is obsessed with Winnie and calls her his “precious” – we talk about her like she’s our daughter!
I’m answering a few questions about her, below…
Teacup goldendoodle puppy
What breed is Winnie and how big will she get?
She’s a teacup goldendoodle! Teacup puppies are less than 10 pounds full-grown. I know she’ll be less than 10, but it’s pretty hard to predict how big she’ll get right now. At the moment she’s 2 pounds and only eleven weeks old… she was also the “runt” of her litter so she will probably be smaller than her brothers and sisters!
How is she doing at potty training?
Since I live in a high-rise apartment, I’m training her on puppy pads right now. It’s so much easier than racing down dozens of flights of stairs every time I think she needs to pee! She’s doing really well with the pads and has only had a couple of accidents.
How does she get along with Prince George?
For the first couple of days, I felt sooo bad for George (my cat!). He hid in the closet and wouldn’t come out for food or water, I had to leave it at the entrance of the closet. He is slowly coming around to her though… I don’t know if they will ever be “friends,” but he will learn to tolerate her. He is now okay with being on the couch at the same time as her, and he loves to run around the apartment when he knows she’s in her play pen.

How did you decide on her breed?
I originally really wanted a bichpoo mix (bichon and poodle). I love my mom’s bichon Lilly and bichpoos (also known as poochons) are so so cute and smart! They get to be around 15 pounds, and I ultimately decided that I wanted a smaller dog because I live in a small apartment. I researched, researched, researched for the past six months, looked at shelters in my area and nationally, and also checked out breeders across the country. When I found Winnie I prayed a lot about her and really felt that she was the one.

Can you share where you got her from?
Yes, I’m happy to share… send me an email me for that info!

Secondly, I also wanted to share where I got Winnie these puppy toys! I put them on snapchat (cmcoving) and had a ton of questions, the brand is Haute Diggity Dog and you can find them HERE.  They also have a really cute Starbucks cup and Tory Burch bag. I wanted to buy them all!
Next up, a makeup favorite! These would make the BEST Christmas gifts so I wanted to go ahead and share them (but I’m totally keeping these for myself haha).
It Cosmetics just came out with a bunch of new products, including this Perfect Complexion palette and these glitter brushes. Let’s talk about the palette first: it has to be one of the best I’ve ever used because it combines a ton of my favorite products into one! There’s a bronzer, my FAVORITE highlighter, a gorgeous peachy-pink blush, and finally, their award-winning Bye Bye Pores powder (which I have raved about before). I have several of these individual products, but it’s so convenient that they’re now all in a palette together. This would make a great Christmas gift! And secondly, I love the All that Glitters brush set as well, because they just scream “holidays.” It Cosmetics is known for having amazing brushes, and these live up to the hype.
Finally I wanted to end with a clothing product that I’ve been obsessed with for a few weeks now… these studded booties from Nordstrom.
They are a “dressed up” pair of casual booties because of the little gold studs. Not to mention, they are so so comfortable. I’ve been looking for every excuse to wear them!
That wraps up my Friday Favorites for this week! What are you guys up to this weekend? Chris and I are having our Friday night “date night” tonight and watching the Clemson game tomorrow. Other than that, we plan to be pretty lazy all weekend!
xoxo

  6. She is adorable! I have never heard of "teacup" goldendoodles. My neighbor has an average sized goldendoodle though and she is so well-behaved! I will say when we ran into a breeder with my former dog, they called my Maltese a "teacup" and he ended up being fairly large ha! Anyhow, I'm so glad you will have a pup at home for company! My Shorkie (shih-tzu/yorkie) is always by my side, bringing me so much happiness. I'm sure Winnie will do the same xx

  12. I have had my eye on the Gucci Soho Disco for quite some time now! I'm saving up for it, and in the meantime, I'm debating between the beige, red, and black. I'm really leaning towards the beige, but I am quite worried about color transfer since I primarily wear jeans. So I was wondering if you have noticed any color transfer on yours?

    11.4.16Reply
    • Surprisingly, I haven't noticed any color transfer on my beige one! I have heard from other people that this has happened to theirs, though. I'm not sure why mine hasn't … maybe it's because I wear it with a lot of dresses and not necessarily jeans all the time. Out of all three colors I definitely love the beige most, but you can't go wrong!

  13. Those dog toys definitely made me laugh. Your cat will come around to having a dog around. He may end up enjoying having a playmate if he is an active cat. Since your puppy will stay small, your cat will likely realize Winnie isn't a threat to him and enjoy being the Alpha Kitty. 🙂

  16. Hi Caitlin! I have to say your puppy is SOO cute and reading your post, I can just feel the happiness oozing out of you! I have followed your blog for a while now and you truly just seem like a wonderful soul. I didn't know that you struggled with anxiety (I do too) and I really want to get a dog for some of the same reasons – companionship, puppy cuddles and unconditional love 🙂 So happy for you and Chris! Have a great weekend. Love, Christine

  17. Winnie is just so adorable! I can't get over how stinking tiny she is. We have Bodie, my 80 pound Golden Retriever puppy, and live in an apartment. Not the best choice we made when you look at that small detail, but he is the most loving dog I've ever me and he's so smart! I'm sure Winnie is, too. I love that monogram necklace. I think about buying it basically every time I see it on your Insta, but I want to wait and get it after Paul and I get married (not that we're even engaged, but still).

  23. I am loving Winnie!!! Isn't it the best feeling when she looks up at you with those big eyes. We too have a ragdoll cat that had to adjust to our sweet Zoey (porkie breed) and they have learned to "tolerate" each other.

Zoey is such a big part of our lives that she inspired my blog! Feel free to reach out if you have any small dog concerns, as we have been there!! I also can give you a billion recommendations for harnesses or small puppy outfits 🙂

  32. I've been following your blog for a while now and love your style! Congrats on the new puppy. Looks like my husband and I got a puppy around the exact same time! as you We have a 10 wk old golden retriever called Finn. We also have a cat who seems to be reacting the same way (mostly hiding, but slowly coming around)! Looking forward to seeing more of Winnie!
