Bomber Jacket & OTK Boots

Louis Vuitton Neverfull (borrowed from my mom), similar HERE
similar monogram necklace // Chanel lipstick #145

I have basically been living in this bomber jacket from Nordstrom... it looks cute with this white cami as I'm wearing it here, but I wore it with a striped top over the weekend and I think it was even cuter! One thing that you can count on Nordstrom having during the fall/winter is cute outerwear. They have THE best jackets and coats - I have this cotton anorak and it's another great outerwear piece that I would recommend for fall. You can check out Nordstrom's new arrivals here!

In other news.... (and if you follow me on social media you already know this).... I FINALLY GOT A PUPPY!!!! I have been really, really, really wanting a dog for a long time now, and my boyfriend Chris and I finally found the right one for us this past weekend. She is going to be teeny tiny (less than 10 pounds) since we both live in apartments, and she is already so well trained. You can see her first picture here - look out for a whole blog post on her because I can't stop taking pictures of her. I don't think I've ever been happier than the past couple of days!

Comfy Cozy in Vermont

Have you guys heard of Koolaburra by UGG? Koolaburra is essentially the little sister to the UGG brand. The shoes are SO cute, comfortable, and affordable too. The ones I'm wearing, the Victoria Tall, are $100 and are really great quality - the same top quality you'd expect from UGG. I wore them all day while we were roadtripping from Vermont to New Hampshire... I can't even explain in words how warm they keep my feet! Definitely a must for cold weather (and road trips!)

If you wan't something a little more classic, check out the Classic Short for less than $100 - they come in four different colors. They also carry fuzzy slippers - I've already added them to my Christmas List!

P.S. The hotel we stayed at in Grafton, VT, last night was so quaint and cute (the Grafton Inn - it's behind me in the above photos). It was built in 1801 and was originally a stagecoach inn. Ulysses S. Grant, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Theodore Roosevelt have all stayed there - it was really fun learning about the history of the place!

Poncho Weather

satin V-neck cami // similar jeans // studded booties, similar HERE

Ponchos are one of the easiest fall "outfit makers" - you can throw them on over pretty much any outfit! I'm particularly loving this one from Banana Republic (if it's too colorful for you, try this neutral one). I love ponchos over dresses, camis and turtlenecks and paired with booties or over-the-knee boots. There are so many ways to style them!

P.S. This suede handbag is straight from the Banana Republic's runway at NYFW. Isn't it gorgeous?!

I'm linking up some of my favorite Banana Republic pieces below!

5 Easy Last-Minute Halloween Costume Ideas

1. A Starbucks Frappuccino
I did a whole blog post on this easy DIY costume last year - it's so cute and costs less than $40 to make! Most of the items are available at Michaels, except for the beige slip (mine is from Target). I got so many compliments last year, and some people thought it was a store-bought costume! For more pictures and directions on how to make it, click HERE for the full blog post.

2. Eleven from Stranger Things

Eleven Stranger Things Halloween costume

This show was one of my favorites from 2016, my boyfriend and I watched the entire series in three days. The main character, Eleven (Elle), would be a really easy costume to replicate. She wears a pink dress with peter pan collar (just buy a pink dress and layer it over a collared shirt) with a bomber jacket on top. If you really want to get into character, draw on a bloody nose (with lipstick!) and carry about a bunch of Eggo waffle boxes.

3. Netflix and Chill

Netflix and Chill Halloween costume

This one requires a partner, but there are a billion ways to pull this off and make it look cute! Start with oversized tees and buy iron-on letters from Michaels for the lettering on the T-shirts. The "Chill" person can wear a blue wig, a snowflake headband or iron on little snowflakes - anything to show that they are cold. These girls on Pinterest really got it right and look adorable!

4. Snapchat Filters

Snapchat filter Halloween costume

I think this one is so creative (and cute!). These girls emulated their favorite snapchat filters with a flowered headband and yellow butterflies (complete with gold glitter!). This one is an excuse to do your makeup (and contouring) really well and to look pretty all night. You could also do you makeup like the dog filter, and add dog ears! This one would be fun to do with a group of friends and all wear black outfits.

5. A Pretty Scarecrow

Scarecrow Halloween costume

This one is pretty easy and you're guaranteed to already have the costume components in your closet. All you need is a plaid shirt, floppy hat, jeans and booties. The fun part of this costume is the makeup - there are a bunch of tutorials for scarecrow makeup on the internet, but I really like this one.

I'm also pinning a bunch of Halloween costume ideas on my Pinterest page, follow along HERE! :)

Oh and if you have any good ideas for costumes that are easy to create, leave them in the comments so we can all see!

I love distressed jeans and this pair is perfect. I'm wearing the size 25!

This Goodnight Macaroon handbag looks exactly like a Chloe one but for thousands of dollars less! It's the perfect neutral.

I'm showing you two different photos of this outfit so you can see the sweater a little better!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday! My boyfriend and I watched a really scary movie last night (called "1408") and I could not get to sleep last night afterwards haha. I'm hoping to get to bed early tonight!!

The "It" Scarf for Fall

green turtleneck (wearing size large for an oversized fit) // Free People scarf

I named this post the "it" scarf for fall because I seriously can't get enough of this scarf. The color pairs so well with pretty much any outfit - I've found myself reaching for it over and over since I first got it in the mail a couple of weeks ago. I wore it last week with this outfit, with a striped shirt (here) and as a shawl in the mountains this past weekend. It is SO COZY and warm, and I love how oversized it is!

I am really exhausted after this past week. My mom and I road tripped from NC to New Hampshire and stayed in a different hotel every single night - it was GORGEOUS (the leaves were at their peak) but I don't think I've ever been more tired. We drove through the night to get home, and then I had to re-pack all my stuff for a mountain trip with my college girlfriends. We had a blast catching up and even hiked Grandfather Mountain. I'm back home though and back to blogging every day - sorry for the little break last week!

A Stop in Manchester, VT

Fall outfit ideas

Quick note about this outfit - it's all 30% off today on Neiman Marcus Last Call's website! Now through Oct. 24th you can get everything (for "her") for 30% off. That includes women's clothing, shoes and accessories. The cute draped cardigan I have on is included in the sale - I LOVE the classic colors! Click here to see all women's new arrivals at Last Call.

Anyway, my mom and I continued our road trip from New Paltz, NY, to Grafton, VT, yesterday and stopped in Manchester for lunch. We visited Manchester last year on our big family road trip (remember this blog post?) and loved it so much that we wanted to come back! There's a really cool bookstore/coffee shop (plus a lot of outlet stores, including J.Crew). I think the leaves were even prettier this year, though. Vermont is quickly becoming one of my favorite states... I can't seem to stay away. :)
