Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! I'm doing things a little different on the blog today and am keeping this blog post pretty informal. I wanted to share some of my favorite things from this past week... I'd love it if you shared something you're loving in the comments, too!

favorites: short pink dress // blue jumpsuit // straw hat (less than $30) // Chloe Drew bag
furniture: lucite chair // pillow is from Swoozie's, clothing rack is from Ikea

First up, I'm loving (and this is no surprise), spring dresses! I ordered a bunch of dresses from one of my favorite stores last week, and they all came in yesterday - I'm obsessed. I went a little outside of my comfort zone & ordered a few longer dresses and even a JUMPSUIT! (It's so adorable though - click here to see it.) I tend to stay away from longer dresses since I'm only 5'3, but I actually really loved the ones I ordered. I'll just have to wear heels!

Lately, I've been trying out a several different makeup products and brands. There have been a few hits... and also a few misses. Since this post is titled "Friday Favorites," I'll share only my very favorites with you... starting with this matte-shimmer bronzer. There are six different shades in the palette, three are shimmery and three are matte - which is freakin' awesome! I use the matte shades for contouring, and the shimmery shades for the apples of my cheeks (instead of blush). Instead of using two different bronzers to achieve this, I love how it all comes in one compact! Plus, the shades are really beautiful on... they give the perfect amount of glow for that "sun kissed" look. It's my new favorite bronzer, hands down.

Next up, I wanted to share the foundation I've been using for the past month (I've used it for all of my recent blog photos) and I've really been loving. It's actually a CC Cream! It provides more coverage than I'm used to, but it truly makes your skin look perfect (and covers up all my acne scars). I had my mom try it and she loved it too & is now buying some! I switch between shades, depending on whether or not I have a spray tan (white girls problems, LOL). When I don't have a tan, I use the "light" shade, and when I do have a spray tan I use "medium" - and I always apply it with this foundation brush for even coverage and an airbrushed look. One more important thing! I always set the CC Cream with this bye bye pores powder - it is an amazing setting powder and I'm hooked on it. It's translucent so you don't have to worry about matching your skin color... what I love most is that it soaks up all of the oil and shine on your face, and blurs away the look of pores. And it REALLY WORKS. I am not being paid to write about these products, I truly do think this!

Okay, next... I am loving anything and everything with scallops (I'm not talking about the food... yuck!). I think scallops are so cute and girly for spring and summer. And unexpected! Take a look at these two recent purchases...

scalloped swimsuit, there's a dupe here for only $30! // straw hat // similar phone case (mine is also Sonix)

scalloped hem tank (comes in three colors!) // white pants // similar quilted handbag

Seriously, how pretty are those? I also want this scalloped skirt. Gimme all the scallops!!

Okay, next, this may not mean a whole lot to you unless you live in Charlotte, buuuut I finally found a restaurant with crepes that rival the ones I had in Paris! Ever since I visited France I have been craving nutella crepes like none other. The ones I tried in Charlotte were very thick, pancake-y and nothing like the thin, crispy and melt-in-your-mouth crepes from Paris. Low and behold, though, Cafe Monte in the Southpark area makes an identical crepe - which makes sense, since they are an authentic French restaurant. Definitely check them out if you are in the Charlotte area! (They're tables and chairs are great for instagrams too - haha!)

Okay, I'm finally wrapping up this post with my four (current) favorite pairs of earrings! The top left earrings are only $36 and the sequin detailing is so gorgeous in person. You may recognize the top right pair from my blog post yesterday! And the bottom two - SWOON - am I right? You guys know i love tassels :) The left is a brand new design from Oscar de la Renta, and the right I ordered from overseas because I loved them so much!

Whew! That's a lot of favorites. Just curious, do you guys like these kinds of posts, or prefer my usual outfit posts? I'd love to hear your feedback, and of course I'd love to hear your favorites from this week too!

xoxo

I'm really loving Batiste dry shampoo this week. I picked it up at the airport in London in a moment of desperation, and it has quickly become my favorite dry shampoo. You should give it a try! Also, I've been using more of my Cover FX mattifying primer now that it's heating up outside.

And I noticed one of your other readers mentioned it as well, but I too am loving Batiste dry shampoo lately. 60. I recently switched to this brand of CC cream too after looking for a recommendation for more coverage for my upcoming wedding. I'd been using Bare Escentuals for over 10 years and love IT Cosmetics even more. I'm going to make the make up switch permanent! The CC cream is seriously great and looks so natural for a liquid "foundation," plus the coverage is great! I also LOVE their under eye concealer...a little goes a long way.
