Shoe Addict...

blue pumps (on major sale only until Sunday!) // GiGi New York uber clutch // Gucci sunglasses
David Yurman crossover ring // white pants (order one size up)

How glam is this "shoe addict" tee?! For this look, I wanted to dress up a simple, comfy tee with some pops of color and statement jewelry. And I mean, you really can't wear a "shoe addict" t-shirt without also wearing a killer pair of heels... Am I right?! The blue pumps I'm wearing in this post are apart of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale… which means they are a really great price, and they even come in another color. I walked around in them all day yesterday and they are super comfortable. Just be sure to order before Sunday because the price will return to normal on Monday! (And speaking of the anniversary sale, this bag came in yesterday. OMG obsessed.)

To get a little more "real" here, I have been having some problems with anxiety lately. I don't know what it is, but I constantly have the feeling that something is "wrong" or "off," and I feel nervous and anxious at all times. Even something really little or trivial can set me off and make me worry all day long. It's been affecting my sleep (I've been having nightmares!) because my mind is constantly racing. Anyways, if anyone has ever dealt with this before I would love your advice!

Happy Thursday, only one more day to the weekend :)

Aztec Dress & LuLu*s Giveaway

Love this Aztec print dress!
Aztec print dress, Tory Burch clutch. Perfect.
Love this Aztec print dress!

Today I am super excited to announce a giveaway and collaboration with LuLu*s! I wore this LuLu*s aztec print dress while I was in NYC visiting Krista. It was perfect for a summer night out on the town! I paired it with black and gold, and perhaps my favorite part of the whole outfit is these white statement earrings. Anyways, getting these pictures was a little scary because Krista and I shot in the middle of the street and there was oncoming traffic. Gotta have a little excitement in your life, right? Nothing like the excitement of speeding cabs approaching. ;)

Now for the fun part… a $200 gift card giveaway to LuLu*s! See below for giveaway details.

DIY Beaded Tassel Bracelets

DIY beaded tassel bracelets by Southern Curls & Pearls

Lately, I've been seeing tassel bracelets everywhere, and I even own a few. I wanted to see how hard they were to make on my own… and honestly they are not hard at all! When I was finished, I compared them to my store-bought bracelets and they were almost identical. Everything I purchased for this project I was able to find at Michael's, so your local craft store should have everything you need.

For this project, you will need the following items:
- Scissors
- Pliers
- Embroidery thread
- Beads of your choosing
- Crimp beads
- Small gold ring (called a jump ring)
- Gold wire (mine had a hint of sparkle)
- Stretchy, clear jewelry cord
- Credit card for wrapping the thread around

Step One:
Cut off 1.5 feet of embroidery thread and fold four times. Slide the gold jump ring onto all four strands. Set aside.

Step Two:
Wrap the embroidery thread tightly around the width of the credit card, using up the entire package of thread. Cut the threads with scissors along one edge of the credit card, making sure to keep the threads all together. (See below)

Step Three:
Tie the strands from Step One around the middle of the threads you just cut. The jump ring should be perfectly centered on top and the knot should fall underneath. (See below)

Step Four:
Take the two sides of your threads and pull down to combine. When this is complete, wrap the gold wire tightly around the top, forming the "head" of the tassel. (See below)

Step Five:
String your beads onto the stretchy, clear jewelry cord, making sure that it is a good size for your wrist. (I used 20 beads but they were small!) String both sides of the elastic through two crimp beads and the tassel, with the tassel in the middle. (See below)

Step Six:
Pull the strings together tightly. With pliers, clamp down the crimp beads found on both sides of the tassel. The crimp beads will hold the strings and tassel in place. Cut the leftover string.

Step Seven:
Almost complete! Using SHARP scissors, simply cut your tassel to the desired length, making sure all of the ends are even. Be careful not to cut too much at once. You can always go back and trim uneven pieces.

And ta-da… Your tassel bracelet is finished! I bought all of the materials and completed this project in a  single afternoon, so it really wasn't that time consuming. You will need another person to help you tie some of the knots and use the pliers, so be aware of that if you are trying to do this on your own!

The thing that's great about these tassel bracelets is that they are easily customizable. You can use any color thread… neon, pink, blue, orange…. and any type of beads! I would really like to find some wooden beads to try next.

If you try this out I would LOVE to know! Tag me in the Instagram of your finished product and use the hashtag #curlsandpearlsDIY and I may re-gram you! :)

Pssst. Don't forget about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale going on because prices go back up soon! I tried on this sweater the other day in the store and it SO cute. I also really want these shoes to wear with jeans in the fall!

Central Park

Cute summer looks for NYC!

Happy Monday! I'm back with some more photos from our session with Rebecca Dale. Do you recognize this fountain in the background? It's Bethesda Fountain in Central Park... Apparently it's been in several movies, but the reason I recognize it is from the show Gossip Girl - haha! Anyways, it's absolutely beautiful in person. I wore this printed romper in NYC because it felt more "city-like" than some of my other (brightly colored) outfits. I also love it because it will be perfect for football games, and can easily transition into fall with a cardigan and booties!

I also wore the same romper this past weekend in Savannah. I dressed it down by adding a straw hat and gladiator sandals for a more casual look.

Speaking of my weekend in Savannah, I have fallen in love with that city! (Thank you to everyone who gave recommendations.) Here are a few of my favorite restaurants we went to: Tubby's (for brunch), Vic's on the River, Moon River Brewing Company, and Huys. The coolest bar we went to was the Bohemian rooftop bar… by far the best view of Savannah and the gorgeous bridge! For shopping, we headed to Broughton Street and even found a cute little macaron shop (and a Starbucks). Since my boyfriend was in the wedding party, we didn't have a lot of freedom to go where we wanted or eat where we wanted… I am dying to try some of the other restaurants and bars that y'all mentioned. All in all, it is an amazing city!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Healthy Pina Colada Smoothie

Outfit details: LuLu*s dress, love this dress and this one // David Yurman ring // Essie nail polish in "play date"

Happy Friday! I've teamed up with Swoozie's and some of my favorite bloggers today to share our favorite summer drink recipes. So let's get started!

I am obsessed with pina coladas, but they aren't the healthiest drink in the world. The restaurant versions are always loaded with sugar and saturated fat. I've been testing out my own "healthy" versions of the same thing and found a combo that I love! This smoothie has all of the flavors of a pina colada - banana, coconut and pineapple - but it's made with fresh, natural ingredients. It also makes a great breakfast because it's really quick and it contains oats :) My favorite thing to do is work out in the morning and then sip on one of these afterward!

Ingredients:
6 oz Greek yogurt - coconut flavored
1 cup pineapple juice
1.5 cups coconut water (or you can use coconut milk)
2 cups frozen pineapple chunks
1/3 cup quick oats
2 frozen bananas

Instructions:
Add all ingredients to a blender, pulsing at first and then blending until completely smooth.

Pour it in a jumbo acrylic wine glass from Swoozie's and you're good to go! This recipe makes two servings, so I would use half of the ingredients if you are only making it for yourself. Or make the whole thing and freeze half of it for later. Check out my friends' drinks today too! The links to their posts are below.

And thank you to Swoozie's for our cute cups!

Don't forget about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale - prices go back up August 4th but a lot of the good pieces are already sold out (like the Kendra Scott earrings - nooooo). Now is the time to stock up on fall goodies! Anyways, hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm in Savannah now and it is one of the prettiest cities I've ever visited. We are doing a scavenger hunt throughout Savannah today with the whole wedding party. I'm excited!

Watermelon

Gucci sunglasses // Kate Spade bag, similar here // Loves Affect tassel bracelets, want these

Y'all know I love pineapple clothing… well now you can watermelon to the list. This watermelon tank from ShopbellaC is perfect for lazy summer days (of course I love the pineapple one too). It's also less than $35!! (Pssst. Use the code CaitlinLovesSBC to get 10% off your order.) I paired the tank with these neon pink  ruffle shorts for another pop of color and to keep the outfit really playful. I've actually worn this outfit twice in the past week… once at Atlantic City Beach and the other for a frozen yogurt run. My brother just got home from studying abroad in Japan for a year and he has been wanting to try all of his favorite American restaurants! So I gladly go with him everywhere (except Taco Bell… oddly, that was his first request back!).

Today I'm headed to Savannah with my boyfriend for the wedding of one of his fraternity brothers. I've never been to Savannah before so I'm excited! Let me know any recommendations if you have any :)
