Friday Roundup

All I have to say today is... TGIF! I've rounded up some of my favorites from this week:

1. Did you see the Everygirl article on how to upcycle your old college tee or jersey for March Madness? Myself and four other bloggers each styled our own looks and I love how they turned out. Check out the post for full outfit details! (Pssst. Go Heels!)

2. Searching for the perfect light pink lipstick? On a trip to the mall yesterday, I picked up a new tube of YSL lipstick in color #7 "lingerie pink." It is the perfect light pink color for spring! It looks good with my pale skin now, and will look even better with a little bit of a tan.

3. How beautiful is this Judith March dress from L.Mae Boutique? I have to have it in my closet when the weather finally warms up.

4. As spring nears, I've been making an extra effort to get bikini ready. That includes joining a gym and cleaning up my diet. I loved this Lauren Conrad article on ten foods that detox your body! Also, be on the lookout for some healthy recipes coming up soon on the blog ;)

What are you loving this week? I'd love to know. Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Light & Airy

Alright, y'all. Please forgive me if I wear this top every day for the rest of my life (not joking). I fell in love with this top from Pearl Southern Couture from the moment I first saw it...  the bell sleeves, delicate flower detailing and the light weight cotton fabric make it the perfect top for spring. It also comes in ivory and I'm debating on whether or not to snag that one too! For this look, I paired it with brown leather and denim. These Marc Fisher leather booties are another favorite for spring - I love the little cut-outs!

On another note, this week has passed by so slowly for me and I've been incredibly tired! Even though I've been getting enough sleep at night, I wake up feeling so tired in the morning and it continues throughout the day. Even Starbucks hasn't been helping (which is weird, because caffeine usually works like a charm). I just want my energy back!

To the Max-i

Maxi dresses are my go-to during transitional weather between the winter and spring seasons. They can still be fun and bright, but they offer more warmth since they're long and cover more skin than a sundress. I fell in love with this one from Dress Up Boutique and decided to pair it with one of my really old (but much loved) necklaces from J.Crew. I love the pairing of bright coral and fuchsia together - it would have been perfect for Valentine's Day!

Even though the dress is no longer online, be sure to visit Dress Up's website because you can get 15% off your order with the code "PEARLS."

Hot Pink

Kate Spade rachelle pink bag (no longer in stores, but is on ebay!) // Sunglasses (only $5!!!)

I wore this hot pink top from Dress Up last week at the beach... unfortunately, I can't find it on their website anymore! I love the color, lace detailing and the off-the-shoulder look. However, it would look a lot better if I had a tan! (Can you tell how bitter I am about being so pale? I can't WAIT for spray tan season to start haha) Anyways, I also love this top because it gave me an excuse to bring out my pink Kate Spade bag that I bought last summer. Although it's no longer sold in stores, I was able to find a few on ebay.

Also - I ordered these sunnies off of Amazon last summer. Not only do they look similar to a pair by Karen Walker, but they are only FIVE DOLLARS. And free shipping. Go get yourself some!

One company that I have mad love for is Swoozie's! I can't get enough of their fun, girly accessories  and home decor. Don't even get me started on their wine glasses and tumblers... I could write a whole post on them. Swoozie's just had their 13th birthday, and to celebrate they are throwing a party! For two weeks, they are offering 20% OFF EVERYTHING in the store, including all of their designer goodies (Lilly Pulitzer, Kate Spade, ban.do, etc!).

I've gone ahead and rounded up my "top 13" items of Swoozie's. Click the links above to get shopping!

Shades of Blue

For the past couple of days, I've been on vacation at Ocean Isle Beach with my family. Since the weather was in the high 70s, it was the perfect opportunity to wear this printed blouse from Ennobra Bloom Boutique! Ennobra Bloom has a great collection of beachy tunics and blouses, but this one may be my favorite of all. The preppy pattern and silky feel make this blouse sophisticated yet comfortable... even for a day of shopping!

And speaking of shopping, while we were on vacation my mom and I stopped by the Tanger Outlets in Myrtle Beach, SC. In my opinion, they are the best outlets in the region because they have a Kate Spade outlet. Since all of the bags were 50% off, I couldn't resist the Wellesley Alessa bag - I fell in love with the robin's egg blue color! I may or may not have opened the shopping bag and switched out my purses right then and there. Oops!

Happy Friday, loves! What are your plans for the weekend?

Leopard

Fur vest (similar) // cashmere turtleneck (similar) // black polka dot pants (similar)

As much as I have spring on the brain right now, there's no denying that winter is still hanging on (hopefully not TOO much longer in the south!). Fur vests are a wardrobe staple for me, and I have practically lived in this leopard one all winter! I actually found it in the kids section of Target and bought it in a size XL. Not only was it super inexpensive, but it's really great quality and can be paired with so many outfits - even dresses. (Unfortunately, it's no longer online, but I did find a similar one!) This look is one of my go-to's when I don't know what to wear. It's simple but classic. I would wear this on a date, to a movie or even out with friends.

Dressing the Desk

white frames // similar gold frames // Homegoods mirror (not online) // Sugar Paper calendar (not online)
Literary glasses notepad // Evelyn Henson computer background // gold animals tutorial

Desks and work spaces, in my opinion, are the most fun to decorate! It's so much easier to work in a pretty and organized environment - your surroundings can really make inspiration strike. I recently moved into a new apartment so I've been motivated to refresh my desk. (Pssst. Speaking of my new apartment, meet my roomie and go follow her blog!) This is the area where I blog from every day... although usually you'll spot a mug of coffee as well. My favorite part of this space is the gallery wall above my desk. I honestly did it piece by piece, and I think it came together pretty well. (Can you spot the painting that A Preppy State of Mind made for me?)

To stay organized, I keep all of my paper documents in this acrylic file folder from The Container Store. There's a different folder for bills, contracts, important receipts, and so on. Having a wall calendar also helps keep me organized. This particular wall calendar is made by Sugar Paper and found at Target. I'm obsessed with the gold dots!

Prince George decided to make an appearance in these photos as well. As anyone with a cat knows, they LOVE to sit on your papers/computer/books... whatever you happen to be working on at the moment. George always messes up my computer from pressing buttons with his paws!

Happy Wednesday, loves!

Neon & Nude

Sometimes I just want to be comfortable... and this outfit was perfect for a Sunday afternoon dinner and movie. This neon cardigan is my new favorite piece to dress up a simple tee. I love the color, lightweight fabric, and how it looks when paired with skinny jeans and flats. This same Dress Up cardigan also comes in a variety of colors... all gorgeous and great "transition pieces" for your closet. And guess what! You can receive 15% off your Dress Up purchase with the code "PEARLS."

Oh and since we mentioned flats... please do yourself a favor and run to Target (TODAY!) and grab these nude flats by Sam & Libby. As of this weekend, they are new in stores and guaranteed to sell out fast. I love the look of these shoes, and they are actually really comfortable (I walked around in them all day Sunday without a hitch!). Just make sure to buy a half size smaller than your normal shoe size, since they tend to run a little big. Have a great Tuesday, everyone!
