Coffee Shop

I don't know why, but there's something about visiting local coffee shops that seems so romantic to me.  I love to go - alone, yes! - and sip a flavored latte or macchiato. Whether I bring along my laptop and a book, or just sit and people-watch, there's just something so comforting about a warm cup of coffee.

I wore an oversized sweater this week on a trip to Dilworth Coffee. Although the exact one is sold out, I've linked to three similar ones below (all for great prices!). Happy Friday, loves!

Crème de la Sequins

I fell in love with this midi sequin skirt when I saw it in Nordstrom and decided to buy it on a whim - I had no idea where I would wear it! (Do y'all ever do that? I'm usually sensible about buying what I know I'll wear!) However, I'm actually really happy that it went home with me, because I wore it to a blogger meet-up in Dallas where I wanted to look a little more "glam." I paired the skirt with a simple sweatshirt because it was casual but still completely chic, the perfect outfit for dinner with 20 other fashion bloggers! I ended up loving the monochromatic silver look, even down to my shoes and ring. And you never know when you're going to need a fantastic sequin skirt!

Spruce Up Your Home

The New Year is the perfect opportunity to make small changes to your home that can make a big difference. Whether it's organizing a closet, hanging a new print on the wall or adding a statement piece of furniture to your living room, little changes such as these can make your home (and you!) feel refreshed. So when Lulu & Georgia asked me to take part in a styling contest, I just couldn't say no! From rugs to furniture, Lulu & Georgia has some of the most unique and beautiful home decor I've ever seen. I have been lusting over this bar cart for ages!

For this post, I chose to style the elephante stool and the Oh La La print from Lulu & Georgia. A little disclaimer... I am actually moving into a new apartment (tomorrow!), so these pictures were all taken at my parents' house.

I placed the elephante stool in my mom's dining room beside one of her antique chairs. I added coffee table books and potted flowers for an elegant, classic look. The last photo was taken in my childhood room in my parents' house. I organized my desk last week and the Oh La La print was the perfect addition - it's bright and cheery and I love looking up from my computer to see it. Be sure to check out Lulu & Georgia's blog to see how all of the bloggers styled their homes!

The best part of it all? Now you can spruce up your home, too, because Lulu & Georgia is offering a 20% discount on all products from now until Sunday, February 2nd. The code is: NEWYEARSPRUCEUP20.

I've rounded up some of my favorite items from Lulu & Georgia below. Enjoy!

Coral Cutie

To preface this... the title of this post is not in reference to me, but to this adorable top from Sideline Sass! I decided to pair it with a lace skirt and nude heels for a dressier look, but this top can also be dressed down. I can see it with jeans for tailgating or white pants for a lunch date with friends. I also love the fun cut-out in the back!

Today, Sideline Sass is giving away this pop of orange necklace and a personalized discount code to one lucky girl!

You can enter the giveaway using the Rafflecopter widget below.

I also own these bow tie shorts from Sideline and can't WAIT to wear them once the weather turns warmer. Speaking of the weather - it's supposed to snow in the Carolinas tomorrow and I couldn't be more excited. Growing up, my brother and I had superstitious traditions to make it snow. We would wear our pajamas inside out and backwards, and put a spoon under our pillow... sounds crazy, but all of the kids used to do it. Supposedly it would make it snow while we were sleeping! I may just have to try it again tonight...

When in Texas

bow blouse (similar) // Target leopard cardigan (sold out) // Avery Lane striped skater skirt
Tory Burch Reva flats // Essie polish in "boom boom room" // YSL lipstick in "le fuschia"

This past weekend, I took a trip to Dallas, TX, to meet up with a bunch of blogger friends I hadn't seen in a while. It was a whirlwind trip, filled with good food, shopping and lots of girl time. I received this striped skirt from Avery Lane Boutique the day I left and stuffed it in my suitcase at the last minute! I was so happy I did because I LOVE the cut and shape of this skirt and the fact that it can be worn every season of the year. How cute will it be with wedges (and a tan) during the summer? Avery Lane has lots of cute things so be sure to check them out!

I also wanted to introduce you to two of the sweetest girls I've ever met! I had met Krista, who blogs at Covering the Bases, during a trip to NYC in October and fell in love with her fun loving and infectious personality. This weekend I had the chance to meet Kate, from Lonestar State of Southern, whom I've had a blog crush on FOREVER. She really is the cutest thing I've ever seen, y'all. Both of these girls have such bubbly personalities and I'm so thankful for genuine, encouraging friends like them!

Pink & Red Nordstrom Giveaway

glasses // heart key ring // heart earrings // Kate Spade watch // Kate Spade bag // socks // Tory Burch flats

Can you believe it's almost February? One of the reasons I love this month is because it's totally acceptable to pair pink and red together every day in honor of Valentine's Day (oops I already do this every other month of the year). But since Valentine's Day is right around the corner, I've teamed up with some of my favorite bloggers for a sweet little giveaway... a $250 Nordstrom gift card! And don't even think about spending this on a man. ;) I've rounded up some of my favorite pink and red goodies from Nordstrom, from cozy socks to a statement handbag.

A Sunny Disposition + GIVEAWAY

I love the color yellow. Even when it's DEATHLY cold, wearing the color yellow just seems to warm me up, inside and out. I found this yellow sweater in Gap's sale section over the weekend and I'm looking forward to wearing it into the spring and summer seasons (hello jean shorts!). I also love the fact that it matches my fleur drop earrings from Tres Chic. These earrings definitely make a statement, but they are small enough to still be really classic. And speaking of Tres Chic, they are throwing a "Sparkle in the New Year" giveaway for y'all today... one where no one loses!

All entrants will receive a $5, $10 or $15 gift card to spend on jewelry from Tres Chic Boutique.

To enter, you must do the following three things:
1. Follow Southern Curls & Pearls on bloglovin.
2. Sign up for the giveaway here.
3. Visit Tres Chic's website and let us know in the comments what you will spend your gift card on!

The Sparkle in the New Year giveaway will run through next Thursday, January 30 at noon. The gift cards will be emailed out once the giveaway is complete, and you can find Tres Chic on Instagram and Twitter.

Roe Blvd + Gold Lip Stain Wine Glass Tutorial

I have a fun tutorial for you today, but first I want to introduce you to one of my newest sponsors, Roe Boulevard! If you've been following my blog for a while, you probably know that I love shopping at small boutiques because they have unique items that mall stores don't have. Roe Boulevard is one of these gems, with a great selection of cozy sweaters, vests and tees.

crochet sweater vest // aspen sweater in fuchsia // velvet elephant tank

I've picked out my favorite things from their website, and they all have one thing in common: comfort! Don't you just want to throw these on and curl up by the fire? I have my eye on that sequin elbow patch tunic... I would pair it with a puffer vest, skinnies and boots for a chilly day when I want to be comfortable but still look put together.
Check out Roe Boulevard for even more great finds!

Now for a fun tutorial! Last week I mentioned that I was in love with this lip tease coffee mug, but it is unfortunately sold out. Luckily I found this fabulous tutorial from Evelyn Henson on how to make your own! Although this method would work on any cup, I decided to paint a wine glass because A. I love wine, and B. wine glasses are easier to wash.

For this project, you will need three things:
a wine glass, a gold metallic paint pen and this lip print-out from Evelyn Henson.

Once you print out the page of lips, cut out the pair of lips you like the best and hold it up to the glass to make sure you like the size and shape. Still holding the paper, use the gold paint pen to draw the bottom lip using zig zag motions.

Let the paint dry for ten minutes, and you're good to go! Seriously, how easy is that?! This whole project took me close to five minutes, and just like that I was enjoying some moscato out of my new lip print wine glass. Cheers!

Bows All Over

When I first saw this Lauren Conrad bow top online, I knew I had to have it! Unfortunately, it was sold out online before I even had a chance to whip out my credit card. I stopped by Kohl's this week on a whim and God must have been smiling down on me because one last bow top (in a size small!) was hanging on the clearance rack. I may or may not have screamed (and scared a little kid nearby). Oops. To the person who received this bow top for Christmas and did not want it, I am shaking my finger at you and singing your praises at the same time!

Lauren Conrad's line at Kohl's is filled with bows. Have you seen? Shop the links below for some more of her bow-tastic tops.
