Sweater Weather

Some might call me crazy, but these low 70 temperatures we've been having lately have already caused me to break out my sweaters and cardigans. This chevron sweater from Sugar Love Boutique made the perfect easy outfit for a Sunday dinner with my parents and grandparents. We went to a local pizza restaurant and it was freeezing inside, so I was happy to be snuggled up in this baby! It was the perfect way to end an amazing weekend with some new friends.

On another note, I ended up buying these Lilly Pulitzer travel pants because I was SO impressed with them a few weeks ago! They are ten times better than leggings and a thousand times better than jeans. So comfortable, they keep their shape AND you can wear them with a million different outfits. Definitely a fall staple in my book!

This weekend was one of the best I've had in a long time - from Friday night's Lilly Pulitzer Fall Styling Party to a night out with new friends - it was definitely a memorable one!
I'll be posting a full weekend recap this week so check back soon :)

WILW

Well goodness me, I've blogged more this week than I ever have in my life. I'm okay with it, are you? It's Wednesday so of course that means a "What I'm Loving Wednesday" post! There are a lot of things I've been loving lately and meaning to share with you. Onward!

One. Fall is here

That's right, fall is officially here and the past couple days have been chilly to prove it! I've broken in my herringbone vest and cardigans and I couldn't be happier about it. Here are two recent OOTDs for the fall weather:

Two. Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Lattes

I'm not a huge coffee drinker... instead I really love sipping on chia tea lattes in the morning. When I found this pumpkin spice chia tea latte mix at Target, I almost fainted. Two of my favorites in one drink, this had to be a dream come true! It tastes as good as it looks and that extra jolt of caffeine is absolutely crucial in the morning. You can make this hot or iced, but I've been drinking it hot every morning and it is truly divine!

Three. Bip and Bop Jewelry

You all probably know by now that my weakness is jewelry, and I have found a new jewelry shop that makes me weak in the knees. Check out Bip and Bop for the cutest, daintiest jewelry you've ever seen!
Here are a few of my favorites:

Four. A Kate Spade surprise

I came home Monday night to find a Kate Spade package at my door. In my head I was thinking, "Wait a minute, I didn't order anything from Kate Spade!" I soon realized that it was meant to be a surprise. The cute little beau bag you see there is actually a USB drive! When I plugged the USB drive into my computer, it was filled with all kinds of info on Kate Spade's new beau bag. Wasn't that a cute surprise?

Five. Prince George

I'm still loving my little kitty! I'm not going to lie, he can be a rambunctious one (I have scratches all over my arms and legs) but he can also be an absolute sweetheart. I hate to admit this but he even sleeps in the bed curled up beside me all night long! However, my mom took this less-than-flattering photo of him over the weekend and I just HAD to share.

Hahaha. What do you think he's thinking? I'm sure there could be some funny captions for this one. ;)

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday. Just remember we're halfway through the week!

Rainy Days, Monograms & a Giveaway

You know, rainy days really aren't so bad. When I was younger, I used to hate the rain (since it meant frizzy hair and no recess). However I've learned to like them a lot better as I got older. I mean, how could you hate a rainy day when it gives you a chance to don a monogrammed rain jacket from BCS Designs?

This jacket has a fleece interior that is oh-so-warm, perfect for the fall and winter months. It even has a hand warmer/pocket on the front. And it comes in several different colors.
Now all I need is a pair of monogrammed rain boots!

The great news is that BCS Designs is giving away a $25 gift card to their site. If you haven't checked them out before, GO NOW! They have the cutest selection of monogrammed jackets, rain gear, jewelry, tailgating goodies and more. A girl can never have enough monograms!

You can enter the giveaway using the Rafflecopter widget below:

Good luck!!!!

The Charlotte Uniform (Lilly Pulitzer #3)

Happy Monday, lovies! I'm back with another Lilly post. While I was in the store, the girls told me about "the Charlotte uniform" which consists of boots, skinnies, a cute top and jacket or cardigan. Well, I've been wearing the Charlotte uniform for years now and didn't know it (and to think that as a kid, I hated wearing a uniform to school!). I just can't get enough of this look, especially in Lilly's bright colors and prints. This is one uniform I'll be donning over and over throughout the season.

Yes, my mom Carla even got in on the fun! One thing I love about Lilly Pulitzer's line is that they're multi-generational... meaning that these clothes are made for women of all ages. My mom and I even fell in love with the same dress while we were there. Guess who ended up winning the battle and taking it home with her?
(Hint, it wasn't me!)

I just love this dress on her!

Fall Essentials

In honor of the first day of fall, I put together a list of my 2013 fall essentials. From riding boots to black skinnies, these are all items that every girl needs in her wardrobe!

one. So this isn't really a clothing item, but Starbucks is certainly a fall staple (and honestly, that little cup goes with any outfit!). There's nothing better than a warm drink in your hand when the weather is crisp and cool. My two favorite drinks right now are the Marble Macchiato and the Salted Caramel Mocha. Yum!

two. Every girl needs a cozy knit sweater in her closet this fall. The cream color goes with everything - jeans, colored cords, skinnies, etc - and makes a great layering piece.

three. I've always loved a gorgeous puffy vest, not only for its chicness, but also for it's ability to keep you warm! Unlike a huge jacket, vests are easy to take on and off and a great way to spice up your fall wardrobe.

four. A pair of wedge booties are great for pairing with skinny jeans and jeggings. Plus, they elongate your legs and are actually pretty comfortable.

five. Colored cords are fabulous, simply because of their comfort. The great thing about cords is you can wear almost any shoe with them: riding boots, pumps, ankle boots or flats are all game with these pretty pants.

six. Essie's fall nail polish line is out of this world amazing. I seriously want every color in the collection! I picked up vested interest a few weeks ago and it's the prettiest shade of green. Next on my list is this gorgeous navy color, after school boy blazer.

seven. A great leather satchel is a timeless piece that will never go out of style. I love this one because you can carry it as a crossbody or by the handles (versatility is key!). Pick a neutral color that will go with a lot of different outfits.

eight. A printed scarf can add a whole new element to a simple outfit.

nine. This is probably my favorite item for fall - an oversized cardigan! I like mine oversized so I can layer sweaters underneath. They are also great for pairing with dresses and even skirts.

ten. Riding boots are still here and going strong. Try experimenting with riding boots this fall - pair them with a dress and tights, or even white pants. They are also super comfortable.

eleven. I love black skinnies because they go with everything and I mean everything! You can easily wear them to class, work and out for drinks afterward. Riding boots and black skinnies are pretty much a match made in heaven.

They great thing about all of these items is you can create so many different looks from them - and that's why I consider them to be wardrobe staples.

What are your fall wardrobe staples?

In this post, I've styled two looks in blue and gold: one for the office and one for a party. You can't go wrong with this color combination, especially when you have great-fitting pieces. That's one thing I've always loved about Lilly's clothing... it never fails to fit perfectly!

Zip Around Clutch in "Gold Metallic"
Luxury Capri in "Tickle the Ivories"
Kat Kitten Heel in "True Navy"

Items featured for party outfit:

Leopard & Leather

Happy Tuesday!

Can I get a hooray that the weather is finally cooperating with my readiness to wear fall clothes? I'm loving the cooler weather outside, mainly because it's given me the chance to break out the Tory Burch boots every chance I can get. How perfectly do they go with this leopard number from Bluetique Cheap Chic? This dress is one of my favorite items in my closet right now. It's perfect with boots on warmer fall days, but when the weather cools down even more I'll pair it with tights and a cardigan too. You can also dress it up for a night out with some black or brown heels! It truly is the perfect outfit to transition from work to a night out.

I have been burning the candle at both ends lately, getting up early for work and going to bed too late. Work has kept me even busier (and stressed) than usual! Hopefully tonight after work I'll be able to come home, pour a glass of wine and relax. So cheers to a relaxing Tuesday, loves!
