Weekend Recap

This past weekend was honestly one of the best weekends I’ve had in a long time! The unusual part is that I spent it with a lot of people I had just met – and that I now consider to be good friends. As you know, Friday night was the Lilly Pulitzer Fall Styling Party at Southpark Mall in Charlotte. Even though I had been looking forward to this night for several weeks, I ended up having so much fun that it blew all my expectations out of the water!
(Pssst… Apologies in advance for the mixture of camera and iPhone pictures in this post!)
Mom and I both donned our Lilly Pulitzer dresses and spent a good hour getting ready and perfecting each others’ makeup. (My favorite line is, “Mom! Fix me!”) I was a little nervous but incredibly excited!

I was truly blessed to meet so many amazing people throughout the night! Annaliese, who blogs over at Southern Belle in Training was such a sweetheart, and she brought along her cute friend Hannah as well! We talked about our blogs, her transition to southern living and how joining a sorority was the best decision we had made in college.
Next I got to meet Elizabeth from Life with Elizabeth. I have been following Elizabeth’s blog for a while now and could not wait to meet this girl in person! She is even cuter and sweeter in real life!! Not only that, but Elizabeth ended up winning a $1,000 Lilly Pulitzer shopping spree while she was at the event. SUPER jealous and I can’t wait to see what she gets with her money!

Another girl who’s blog I’ve been following for a long time and was anxious to meet was Mason from
Mason Like the Jar. I am seriously super obsessed with this girl! She had me doubled over laughing all night and I seriously can not get enough of her. She is just as witty and hilarious in person as she is on her blog and I pretty much decided that we were going to be blogger besties from now on (hope that’s okay with you, Mason!).
And finally, you know that feeling you get when you meet someone and you immediately feel like you’ve known them forever? That’s how I feel about Melissa and Alyssa, both semi-new to blogging and adorable as can be (Melissa blogs over at Simply Sweet Melissa and Alyssa’s blog is Lesson Plan Diva).
All three of us (plus Mason!) met up for drinks after the event and had a blast hanging out, dancing and laughing at each other’s silly antics. We even all decided to sleep over at Melissa’s house. Too many inside jokes to count, we woke up the next morning laughing about all the memories we had made. I already love these girls so much!
The rest of the weekend was spent recuperating from a busy week (recuperating as in sleeping, taking trips to Starbucks and shopping with my momma!). Between the excitement of this event, planning a trip to NYC and stressful days at work, I’ve been having a really hard time sleeping lately. If I do manage to fall asleep, I usually wake myself up in the middle of the night and can’t get back to sleep until the morning hours. Someone help me!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
