What I'm Loving

Hey bebes!

I always enjoy doing "What I'm Loving Wednesday" posts because it gives me an excuse to be completely random, and it's okay! So I have some super random loves for you today.

1. {This monogram necklace} from Personalized From Me to You

I've been seeing these necklaces all over instagram and the blogworld, and now I finally have one of my own! I am SO impressed with the quality of this necklace from {Personalized From Me to You}, as well as the shape and size. Each necklace is hand drawn by the designer, so each one will look a little different. I love that because it gives each necklace character, and no two will be the same!

I went with the one-inch monogram on a twenty inch chain. I think it's the perfect size, and the longer chain allows me to adjust the necklace if I want to wear it higher up. It's also the perfect length for layering other statement necklaces!

Expect to see this necklace in a lot of future outfit posts ;)

2. My May Book planner!

As you know by now... I'm slightly obsessed with planners, paper products, pens, etc. I ordered my first May Book planner a few weeks ago and adore it! The thing I love about May Books is you can customize the cover a million different ways. You can choose the colors, patterns, what you want it to say, and even down to what the pages look like inside.

I chose the academic agenda simply because there's a monthly section and a weekly section. I use the monthly page for keeping track of big things coming up, while I use the weekly page to plan my week and write down the day-to-day things that need to get done.

Here's a look at the weekly section. There are three lines devoted to each day, which is plenty of space to write down daily tasks and meetings. If you're using it for school, you may have to write small to fit all your homework in, but since I'm out of school that's not a big problem for me.

Visit {May Books} to design your own planner. There are so many pretty patterns, it's fun to play around on!

3. Target now sells wash tape!!!!!!

Sorry for all the exclamation marks, but this is a topic that gets me extremely excited (perhaps a little too excited). But alas, its true: These colorful four-packs of washi tape can be found at Target for $4 each!

I have a slight obsession with this colorful tape. I use it in my planner, in my Bible, as a bookmark or to underline my favorite quotes and passages. There are so many creative ways to use it, people have come up with everything! (Just try googling "uses for washi tape" and see what you come up with.)

 I picked up the blue pack the other day since I didn't have any in that color.

I took a picture of the tape rolled out so you can see what it looks like. Washi tape is a tape made out of Japanese washi paper. It looks translucent when rolled out and it's also removed easily, making it the perfect accessory to my planners and notebooks.

Now go along, run to Target and pick up a pack for yourself.

4. The salad bar at Harris Teeter

This one is a no-brainer. This is my ideal healthy lunch, filled with colorful fruits and veggies... and it tastes phenomenal. Now if only my bank account could afford me going to lunch there every day...

5. The last days of summer

Since fall is approaching soon, I'm trying to make the most of what's left of summer. That means evening walks around the park, catching the last of summer's rays by the pool, and spending lots of time with my family.

This picture of my mom and me is from a few weeks ago. Even though I'm looking forward to fall, I've loved being home for the summer!

What are you guys loving this week?

DIY: Gold Animals

Happy Monday!

Today I have a super easy DIY for your desk that involves only two things:

I happened to be in Hobby Lobby over the weekend and saw these precious little animal figurines. All of the sudden, it hit me! I remembered something I had seen on pinterest and knew exactly what to do with these cuties.

We already had this gold Krylon spray paint, so I sprayed a couple of coats outside, let them dry overnight, and voila!

Desk animals!

I painted both a pig and elephant, but my favorite is this guy:

With this DIY, you can get insanely creative. What about desk dinosaurs? Kitties? Flamingos? A whole farm village of gold animals? (Okay, maybe that's taking it a little too far.)

But the list does go on and on!

Not quite sold? Before I leave you, here's more desk inspiration...

Easy as pie, and super cute. Have fun :)

Friday's Fancies: Road Trip

Hey loves!

This week I'm linking up with {long distance loving} for Friday's Fancies!

As the summer winds down, I always look forward to that one last road trip. It's one more chance to don your sunnies and some bright shorts and drive until you see the sunset. Does it even matter where you're headed?

The most important thing to consider? Comfort, of course! Long hours in the car can be a pain if you're not wearing the right clothing.

I love this {chambray shirt} paired with these {green chinos}, the perfect combination of comfort and style. A {leopard print belt} and some {classic ballet flats} in a lilac hue are the perfect addition to this ensemble. Flats are easy to slip on and off, so you can tuck your feet under you in the car with ease!

For a touch of gold, I love these {bow earrings} and this {beautiful watch}.

For long car rides, a huge bottle of water, Sour Patch Kids, and some {cute sunnies} are my ultimate necessities. I get bored easily, so I like to {paint my nails}, read a magazine, or download a fun read on my Nook to help pass the time.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Fall Trend: Leopard Loafers

Hi loves!

Recently, I've been seeing leopard loafers everywhere.

At first I was a little wary of the trend. I mean, animal print on my feet? I wasn't in love. But then... it struck me. Leopard fever. I started having visions. Visions of loafers with red skinnies and leggings and leather, oh my! That's when I knew I had to get myself a pair.

The beauty in these leopard loafers is that almost every designer has come up with their own version. The prices range from outrageous ($400) to the cost of a few drinks ($20).

From left to right:

Stubbs & Wooton, $400 // Nine West, $70 // Gap, $50
Sam Edelman, $150 // Target, $20 // Steve Madden, $80

While the Target shoes are incredibly cute for $20, they probably aren't going to be the most comfortable. Keep in mind that with loafers, you often sacrifice comfort for cost!

Now for some style inspiration.

Is everyone else in love with these loafers like I am?
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Hippie Pants.

Hi friends!

Have you ever had an item of clothing that made you feel like you belonged to a different era?

Cause that's definitely how I feel about these gauze pants.

I call them my "hippie pants" cause I feel like a 70s baby in them.
Gauze and wide legs will do that to you. Groovy?

And real talk... They're comfortable. So comfortable I kind of feel like I'm wearing pajamas.

No shame! I saw these pants and had to have them. I'm digging the fit, color, material, and even the fact that I could fit right into Woodstock whenever I wear them.

{Tank} J.Crew
{Necklace} J.Crew, similar one {here}
{Gauze pants} Eighty Sixty
{Straw tote} Tory Burch, Similar one {here}

Let's also talk about {this} sideways cross bracelet, from the Etsy shop "jewelsandnotes."
I've been wanting a cross bracelet for a while now, but my wrist is so darn small that everything I tried on looked ridiculous. But THIS bracelet, my friends, is adjustable! There's a one inch extension so it fits every wrist! Hallelujah :)

Lilly (Diva doggy) had to get in on the pictures, too. She wanted you to see her new haircut! She's my 70s partner in crime.

And finally, an outtake.

This was supposed to be a glamorous spin shot, but... um, I just look incredibly goofy. Does this happen to anyone else??

Happy Friday! What are your plans for the weekend?

Mint Jeans: From Summer to Fall

Hello loves!

Can you believe it's already nearly the middle of August? Cooler weather is swiftly approaching and, like most of you, I'm anxiously awaiting the return of riding boots and pumpkin spice lattes. And good news, ladies! Don't pack up your summer wardrobe just yet, because some of the biggest trends from summer are sticking around for autumn... such as mint skinnies!

{Side note: I have a pair from Zara that I'm crazy about. I almost cried when I thought about hiding them away in the depths of my closet until next spring!}

Here's my go-to look for transitioning mint skinnies into fall:

{color crush necklace}{zig zag sequin tee}{wildflower bracelet}
{mint skinny jeans}{dome satchel}{leather ballet flats}

As the weather cools down, try pairing mint skinnies with neutral colors {think tan, beige, and black} and adding accessories with bold pops of color. Mix it up with prints on top: chevron and polka dots are both fabulous choices this fall! Leather ballet flats are perfect for class or errands, and to dress up this look simply add some black pumps. I'm really loving {these Kate Spade wedges}. And to tie it all together, a classic leather satchel makes the finishing touch.

For more inspiration, take a look at these gorgeous get-ups...

What other summer wardrobe pieces are you excited about transitioning into fall? Let me know!!

School Supplies

Hey babies!

Growing up, every summer I'd look forward to going back to school for one reason: school supplies. I can't explain it, but I've always been a huge sucker for new pens and pencils, a fresh planner and a precious tote to carry it all in.

This year is a little different since I'm not headed back to school in the fall. However, that doesn't mean I get to miss out on buying new supplies! No matter how old I am, I'll always have a need for the perfect planner and the accessories to go with it.

Here are my picks for the perfect school supplies:

{one} My favorite pens in the whole wide world
{two} Cute washi tape is a necessity for marking up your planner or bookmarking pages
{three} A monthly planner
{four} Stabilo fineliners, the only markers you'll ever need
{five} Customizable notebooks for notes, grocery lists, etc.
{six} A precious acrylic tape dispenser
{seven} A safari-themed notepad

{eight} An e-reader protector
{nine} Something to make math a little more fun
{ten} Kate Spade earbuds for listening in style
{eleven} Colored flash drives to brighten your day
{twelve} A polka dot sleeve to protect your laptop

All that's left is a cute bag to tote it all around in!

Such as this {Longchamp Large Tote}, a back-to-school staple.

I just ordered a {May Books} personalized planner and can't wait for it to come in. You'll have to wait and see what color and style I chose! {Pssst! There's a groupon deal going on right now if you want to save some $$}

What school supplies are you loving this year? I'd love to hear... after all, it's my favorite thing!
