Bienvenidos!

I’m back! And… I cried as our plane landed in America {no joke}.
I can’t tell you guys how much I fell in love with Mexico. It’s not just the resort and the pretty beaches, but it goes beyond that: I fell in love with the culture and the people – oh, the people! They are some of the nicest, most humble, and loving people I’ve ever met.
I definitely can’t fit everything I have to tell you guys into one post, so I’ll do a few re-caps. Starting with the beginning of the trip!

We left early Friday morning. In Charlotte, it was dreary and cold, and this was the view I received from the plane window:

Gross, right??

The flight was around two and a half hours. At the two hour mark, things started to look a little different.

Bienvenidos Playa del Carmen!
At the airport, we were greeted with sunshine and a breath of hot Mexican air! After an hour-long ride in the shuttle, we finally arrived at our resort for the week, the all-inclusive Royal Playa del Carmen in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
{aka: the most amazing place I’ve ever been!}
When we first arrived, we walked around the resort with our mouths literally wide open. Green lawns, clear water, stately columns, palm trees that sway in the breeze… it’s easily one of the prettiest places I’ve ever been!
The architecture was stunning…
After exploring, we headed back to our rooms to unpack everything. The rooms were stocked with a bottle of red wine, cozy robes and slippers, snacks, and every kind of alcohol you could imagine. There was a jacuzzi in every room. Not to mention the swinging hammock on our balcony – I admit this is where I spent most of my time!

Here’s a pic from the resort’s website:

The next day, we were up bright and early to soak up the sun by the pool. We had to save our chairs super early to make sure we got them (I’m talking 6 am!).
My favorite part of vacationing wasn’t all the activities  (even though there was SO MUCH to do… snorkeling, bike riding, yoga, salsa dancing, wine tasting, bingo, etc, etc)… but I really enjoyed just relaxing by the pool. I could soak up the sun all day, enjoying a book or fashion magazine and sipping a fruity drink.
Ahhhhh.
I miss this!
Mommy and me!

Ohhh Lordy. It’s making me sad just thinking of this! Don’t worry, I’ll be back with more of Mexico… trust me, there’s lots of good things to come!

Hope everyone had an awesome week and I can’t wait to catch up on everyone’s blogs!
Love, Cait

I agree with you about the people in Mexico. I was blown away by how not like the news makes them out to be, the people of Mexico were. The most humble, hard working, friendly people anywhere outside America I have ever met. Glad you had a wonderful time! 🙂

  7. We were in Playa Del Carmen in January at Banyan Tree Mayakoba. I heard there was a fabulous all inclusive, so I can't wait to hear all about it. We have been down to the area twice on holiday and we LOVE it. All-inclusive that looks like that….I can't wait to hear more.
