We're Back

Well, it's been a while, friends. I can't begin to describe to you how busy I've been with school!
Even so, I did manage to fit a little fun in...

Going out with friends...

A "Redneck wedding" mixer..

How funny do we look!
And  trip back in time...

"We're Back: A Dinosaur Story"

Yes... my roommate and I ordered this movie off the Internet. We hadn't seen it since we were six years old!
We watched it.. and I have to admit it's every bit as good as I remembered!
Has anyone else seen this?

Regular posting to resume after tomorrow...

Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!

The Art of Tailgating.

Who loves college football?

Me, me, me! (So what if it's mainly for social reasons? Or to rate the football players' butts...)

Since football season is here, it's imperative to master the art of tailgating. Starting with...

 1. Gameday Outfit

To me, this is the most important thing I'm thinking about on gameday - what am I going to wear?

This is a classic gameday outfit, meaning it contains all the staples of cute tailgating wear, and is something I've worn several times to Carolina games.

As it gets cooler out, scarves (1) are a great option because they keep you warm and they provide that pop of color for whatever team you're cheering on. Red? Orange? Blue? Gold? They come in every color. I paired this scarf with a simple white tank (2) and high-waisted skirt (3) (which looks good on everyone) and matching earrings (4). Another gameday staple: cowboy boots (5). You're going to be doing a lot of walking, and these are SO comfortable and cute!

Cowboy boots also look great with sundresses. Look for ruffles (1), strapless dresses (2), and one-shouldered styles (3). When looking for dresses in my school colors, a few of my favorite sites are LuLu's, ModCloth, and Vestique

2. Accessories

Accessories are also important - you don't want to be lugging a huge purse around the football stadium!

I recommend wearing a watch (1) so you can keep track of time, and bringing a small crossbody bag to fit your cell phone and tickets in - and nothing else. Crossbody bags keep your hands free and you aren't forced to put your bag on the stadium floor - which is often gross. Another thing you can add to your outfit is the statement necklace (3). It's the perfect way to add a pop of your team color to a simple outfit.

Also - don't forget those sunglasses! It can get pretty bright in the stadium.

3. FOOD!

Perhaps the best part of tailgating is the delicious food. In the south, we're all about good homecooked football food! And at a tailgate, you want the finger foods to be filling, but also delicious.

First up, pasta salad that's all about team spirit. At The Pasta Shoppe, you can order collegiate noodles for almost any college team!

How cute is that?!

For some small sandwiches, try these Sassy Tailgate Sandwiches made with Black Forest ham and parmesan cheese.

Recipe found here.
And how adorable are these Football bites made with cheddar cheese and sausage?

It wouldn't be a tailgate without the dip and chips. Bring on the cheddar bacon goodness.

And for dessert...

These mouth-watering dessert bars - containing chocolate (yes), peanut butter (YES), and Nutella (UM YESS!!!!). Somebody please make me these?
Recipe found here.

Of course, I could go on about this forever, buuuut I should probably wrap this up.

Hope everyone is having a great Thursday!

Oh, and I guest-posted about health this morning over at Ashley's lovely blog, Diary of a Reporter. If you haven't already, check out her blog (and my post!).

Updates

I thought I'd do a little life update!

After a TOUGH week last week, I decided to take it easy on Friday - my body needed rest, and I was able to sleep until 2 pm! (I NEVER sleep that late). Friday night was my sorority's first degree of initiation for the new girls, and we all celebrated afterwards by throwing a party at one of the seniors' houses.

This picture was taken before we left - I curled my hair with a curling iron and YEP, that is a romper.

Saturday it was back to work for me! I even skipped the football game to get lunch at Cafe Carolina and do work with one of my best friends. But somehow I managed to come back from studying with a new pair of ivory elephant earrings...

From Scout & Molly's
Sunday... shot footage for a video project...

Monday... had class all day, but I did remember to take an OOTD on my way out this morning!

I must've been seriously concentrating on taking this picture.. I look pretty mad! I'm not, I promise :)

Tonight I have some articles to write and then I plan on taking it easy and watching Bachelor Pad with all my roommates! I'm thinking about doing some baking, too... and I'm feeling either muffins or some kind of pumpkin bread. We'll see how it goes.

Hope everyone had a great start to the week!

P.S. I'm planning some fun posts for this week so stay tuned!

New Pledge Class!

Hey everyone!

Wow... I can't believe it has been so long since my last post... Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still alive!

After the craziest two weeks of my life, recruitment is finally over...

Seniors during Round One
Friends and I being goofy... Round Two!

So after a lot of hard work (and lots of name-tag making...)

I was in charge of nametags committee this year

We finally have a BALLIN' new pledge class!

KD's whole chapter

Our theme for this year's Bid Day was 80s Rock 'n Roll.. "You can't always get what you want... or can you?"

Seniors - Our last bid day!

I hope everyone is doing well! Hopefully I'll have more time this weekend to catch up on everyone's blogs... With school and rush combined, I literally haven't had a second to breathe in the last two weeks!
