Legging Love.

So, a few posts ago I mentioned how since it's gotten cooler out, I've been living in my leggings.

And it's true. I just can't get enough of them!

Which is why I've incorporated them into a few different looks... don't be afraid to experience their full versatility this Autumn.

We have...

Legging Chic.
 {one, two, three, four, five, six}

This look is so classic, you can wear it anywhere... on a date, to the mall, to dinner with your girlfriends...
You can never go wrong with leggings and riding boots!
And the leopard print bag... I die.

Winter Warmth
 {one, two, three, four, five, six}

This look is perfect for a blustery day when you want to stay warm (and it IS possible to stay warm in leggings!).
I am obsessed with ponchos/capes this season, and I'm loving this patterned one from Anthropologie.
I kept it simple with a monochromatic color scheme, but don't be afraid to add a pop of color in your outfit!

Legging Casual
{one, two, three, four, five, six}

You can never go wrong with cowboy boots and leggings.
I've paired these with a pocket blouse and a military jacket for a more "rugged" look.
This would also make a great gameday outfit, just add a scarf in your team's color!

And finally...

Leggings are not interchangeable with pants...
If your shirt doesn't cover your booty... DON'T WEAR THEM!

DIY Wrap bracelets

Hello, sweethearts!

Over Fall break, I had some free time to try out a DIY I saw on Pinterest..

These DIY wrap-bracelets are super easy and look great when you have a lot on one arm...
(I've only made two so far)

I love these when made with diamond-chain, or this turquoise-chain..

Tutorial found here.

They're easy to make, I promise.
Have fun!

Mummified Hot Dogs

Today for lunch, I combined a few ingredients for a Halloween-themed treat...

Because who doesn't love a good mummy?

Cut the crescent rolls in thin strips, wrap 'em up...

And bake for 12 minutes in a 375 degree F oven.

When the rolls are slightly golden... you know they're done!

Don't forget the eyes..

(Mummies need eyes too)

And enjoy :)

Fall Break!

It's officially Fall break!

That means random trips to Target to pick up gems like this...

PLEASE tell me you've heard of Boo.. cutest dog in the world?

I know he looks like a stuffed animal..

But he's real.
And I'm obsessed.

You can even be his facebook friend.. click here.

Anyways, the cooler weather has finally set in and I've been living in my leggings!

An OOTD for you:
White tank: J Crew
Gray sweater: Nordstrom
Leggings: Forever 21 (For $4.50!!)
Flats: Saks Fifth Avenue
Leather satchel: MK

I don't really have big plans for Fall break. Carving a pumpkin... doing a little baking... that's the extent of it. And lots of reading. I've already managed to finish one book since I've been home..

Although the premise of the book is a little... gruesome... it was HIGHLY addictive and once I got past the first chapter I couldn't stop reading.
I can't wait to dig my teeth into the second one tonight!

Talk to you soon :)

Perfect Weekend!

Such a perfect Fall weekend, spent in Blowing Rock!

It began with a drive through these...

....And a few scenic pit-stops along the way

Some family time..

Some pumpkin hunting...

Some delightful mountain stores...

And when I got back to Chapel Hill, tonight involved a little trip here...

The NC State fair.
Where I got to cross deep fried mac'n'cheese off my bucket list.

I don't think I can look at fried food for at least another three months. Phew.

Hope everyone had a great weekend :)

Parent's Weekend Adventures

Happy football Sunday!

This weekend was Parent's Weekend for my sorority and I have to say it was one of the best weekends I've had in my three (and a half) years here at UNC.

I was so excited for my parents to arrive Friday night and to get the party started!

Mom and I

We had senior dinner at the Carolina Inn... a historic inn right in the heart of Chapel Hill. It's absolutely beautiful and "the spot" for weddings and big events. The food was amazing, and was followed by a slideshow of baby pictures from all the seniors. I was getting so sad thinking about how we're all graduating in May!

Can you spot me?
Afterwards, it was time for the cocktail to begin. The band was AWESOME and we had a fun night of shagging on the dance floor! After the parents left, our friends ended up going to one of our favorite bars, Top of the Hill, for the rest of the night.

Gracie and I!
We were careful not to stay out too late, though... cause Saturday was game day!
Aww it's Ramses!
After the game, my parents went ahead and left for home. It's so hard when my family leaves... my mom and I always tear up. I wanted so badly to climb in the car and go home with them!

My friends and I headed out for another night of fun last night... and it might be fair to say we had a little too much fun.

I must have been really tired becauseeee...
I may or may not have curled up on Back Bar's couch last night..

And of course the night wouldn't be complete without these...

You're looking at Pokey Sticks from Gumby's Pizza.... probably the most amazing thing you could ever put in your mouth... after 2 a.m.
I'm still in a food coma from them!

How was everyone's weekend??

Hello lovelies!

I came home for the weekend to see my parents and brother, and upon my return I found that the cooler weather had officially arrived.

Yesterday was so crisp out that I couldn't even wear my Jacks... leaving my mom and I wondering what shoes we were going to wear. Of course, we came to the conclusion that we didn't have appropriate fall shoes - and thus, a shopping trip ensued in search of the perfect fall flats.

Before I reveal what we found, take a look at my favorite shoes for a fall day!

You can never go wrong with Tory Burch or J Crew flats.. I love their classic styles, and the way they fit.

This fall, pair them with skinny jeans or leggings, like Reese.

The second must-have for fall?

Riding boots.

These literally make my heart pitter-patter.

Wear these flat boots with leggings, tuck them into skinny jeans, or throw on tights and a comfy dress.
Perfect for class, shopping, a lunch date, or game day. I find any excuse I can to wear mine!

Some other fall essentials...

Every college girl needs a pair of rainboots, wallabees, and moccasins.
I have all three and love them!
Plus, these moccasins are only $40.

So to continue the story of my shoe adventure..
Yesterday my mom and I wound up at Saks Off 5th and bought three pairs of flats..
They were each supposed to be $100, but we got them for $40 each!

They're the Saks brand.

Aren't they adorable?
We were happy girls!

I also ended up finding my DREAM bag at Sak's... and convinced my mom to buy it for me for Christmas!
(Yes, I realize it's almost October... I don't know how I'm going to wait three months!)
It's absolutely gorgeous, with luxurious leather and plenty of room inside.
I can't waiiiiit for you all to see it...
but guess you'll have to wait along with me ;)

Happy October, everyone!

Love, Cait
