Just Call Me Grandma Cait

Happy Saturday, everyone!

I, for one, am ecstatic that it’s finally the weekend. My skin hasn’t seen the sun in, I don’t know, two weeks (!!!), which is unheard of for me. I just want to get out in the sun!

You see… during the week, I’m pretty much a grandma.

Just call me Grandma Cait

Yeah. My bedtime is 10 o’clock, I wake up before the sun, and I come home from work too tired to do anything but pop a frozen meal in the microwave.

Reason #1 I’ve been a grandma:
In my spare time, I’ve been knitting painting a bookshelf that I found at a consignment shop.

Reason #83 I’ve been a grandma:
My form of entertainment has been browsing the aisles of The Bookshop in Chapel Hill, looking at all of the old books. Some of them are so beautiful! I found these two books from the 1960s and thought they would look pretty sitting on a bookshelf…

I love thinking about those in the past who have read these… what kind of stories do they have to tell? Where are they now?

Since yesterday was Friday, I finally got out of grandma-mode to enjoy a glass of wine, complete with star-shaped plastic ice cubes..

Along with a blue cup at He’s Not..

And today will be spent recovering…. since Grandma gets tired easily.

Now it’s time to go clean the dentures.

(Kidding).

What are your plans for the weekend?

Love, Cait

  13. That pictures is hilarious. Don't worry sometimes its fun to to a grandma. I love relaxing and taking it easy (and knitting a sweater). There is nothing wrong with that

  15. Wow! That bookshelf is awesome! I love it so much more in white. And you're not a grandma, just a pseudo-grown up. I go to bed early too, and I'm so sleepy today 🙁

A long weekend of drinking non-stop takes it out of me.
