May Flowers

Remember how I told you guys my backyard looked like a jungle?

Well here’s proof! These are some pictures I took over the weekend. Everything is bright and green and I have spent as much time outside as possible. Thankfully I don’t have allergies, so I don’t have to worry about pollen affecting me.
I love the beginning of new months. Especially May, when everything is blooming and the whole world seems new again. This month, I’m setting a goal to be healthier. That means including fruits and vegetables in my diet every day, and limiting processed foods. I’m also trying to up my workouts and weight training.. bathing suit season is pretty much here, and I’m not exactly ready! My first step towards a healthier May: a better breakfast!
This morning before Jazzercise I had a yum-o breakfast! A Chobani strawberry yogurt, sliced banana, and Kashi Go Lean cereal.

It  quickly turned into one big yogurt mess..

But it was great! Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It revs up your metabolism in the morning, and makes you feel fuller so you are less likely to overeat throughout the day. If your busy and don’t have time to slice bananas or whip up something like I did, the least you can do is grab a granola bar! Especially now during exams, eating a good breakfast is essential to give your body and your brain the power you need to fuel through your tests.
The rest of the day will be filled with studying. Hopefully I can squeeze a little trip to Target in.. I’ve been dying to check out their new Calypso line! I’m also driving back to Chapel Hill tonight.. my full week of exams starts tomorrow at 8 a.m.!
Happy May everyone 🙂
Love, Caitlin

  1. That yard is gorgeous! My breakfast during the weeks is usually a bowl (or Solo cup when I'm running late to class) of Honey Nut Cheerios and a Dannon Light and Fit Yogurt! Good luck with exams! I just finished classes today and have a whirlwind week ahead!
